On December 9, 2023, a deputy responded to a gas station where the caller claimed his friend was paranoid in Lake City, FL. The man eventually grew more irate and took off in an ambulance, leading deputies on a pursuit that ended at the Columbia County Sheriff's Office doorstep, where the ambulance got stuck just feet before the entrance doors.

Lack of information. Information given was an ambulance was taken by the patient and the patient is the only occupant, maybe also the road it went down. Lack of description of the ambulance and driver is basically shooting fish in a barrel.

Not a code blue cam, but a while back I watched some footage of cops chasing a suspect who stole a cop car, but the cops kept pitting each other on accident, and when they finally got the right car, the suspect ran and they sent a dog, but the dog started biting another cop, and then the dog took off towards the suspect but ran right past him, and the dog just started running in circles no clue what was going on.
What a gentleman, he brought himself to the station 😊
Genuinely surprised this was not an incident in La Crosse, WI.

He was indecisive about who to go with, so he took himself to the Sheriff’s station. The siren made it more of an urgency😅
Felony stopping the wrong inservice ambulance WITH A PATIENT is unreal. Turning one bad situation into two, luckily it didnt seem like they were a high priority transport or this mistake could have cost someone innocent their life.
Can you imagine? You're having a heart attack and then your EMTs are pulled over and held at gun point? Insanity!

I do understand why they were mad, but when someone is paranoid like that, they need to be restrained on something or a straight jacket. I actually know what this is like. Being paranoid like him, I have actually been hospitalized 3 times and diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder and social anxiety. If i dont take my meds, i go off the hinge. Like my anger is very bad, plus i do get delusional and paranoid.
As for K2. It causes that. I can say that confidently. My boyfriend actually used to do the drug because his older brother talked him into doing it when he was a teen. It was messed up and my boyfriend is still messed up to this day from it. It can cause schizophrenia and psychotic episodes. My boyfriend has dealt with a lot like that and was in mental health facility, on and off which messed up him going to school. He had to drop out of school because of it. Its nothing to play with. I hope that man gets the treatment he deserves.
Im not saying that what he did with the ambulance car was right. It wasnt. BUT, that female cop needed to talk to him calmly and not act mad or aggressive with him. That can send someone like that into an episode. Anything can trigger it.

I have never seen that many incompetent officers working together before. An ambulance was stolen in front of them and to add insult to injury their colleagues stopped the wrong vehicle. 🙄
well tbf the female cop was there on her own. the other cops just made a mistake in the heat of the moment. only problem i find is the lack of accountability on the cops who felony stopped the wrong ambulance didnt apologise or anything to the poor paramedics they held at gunpoint

Like I agree but I don't at the same time seeing as in under 60 seconds you could see lights of the other ambulance on the same road from the time of the cop exiting his car after pulling over the wrong ambulance like that is bad but like the coincidence of that even happening and to make that kind of obvious mistake pulling over the wrong ambulance all though they were 1-2 minutes apart from eachother making it a not so obvious mistake if that makes any sense at all?
That doesn't matter. Nobody was behind the second ambulance. They scared the sht outta those medics for nothing. As soon as they saw the uniformed medic with their hands up, they should've ended it. Again, they had no reason if they didn't see the pursuing deputy behind it.
It was just a coincidence that the other ambulance was there during an extremely stressful situation. What if it was the right ambulance and they passed it? How would that have looked?
I feel bad for the ambulance driver. He's probably traumatized now.

@@Legoman775 Agreed about the EMS securing the vehicle, but the EMS units priority is to make sure the subject doesnt die. Its the officers responsibility to make sure the subject doesnt do anything stupid like steal the damn ambulance. The officer completely lost view of the subject (who she knew was drunk and high on cocaine) and therefore lost any control over the situation.
Can’t say I’ve ever seen anything like that before. I would think a decent dispatcher could’ve prevented the wrong ambulance from being stopped.
This whole ordeal was incompetently handled from the dispatcher to the officers. I see a lawsuit coming from this

It’s a tight knit department. You can hear in the end the guy was saying all he heard was her screaming on the radio about an ambulance. Cops/EMTs/Dispatchers are people too. They also eat, shit, laugh and cry, just without as much sleep as others can afford. They deserve a little more respect.
