Drummer is sick, look at the Smooth 3 peace jazz kit. Minimal as all fuck, but the sound he drawing out is unreal. Compaire it to the drumset behind him. Love that shit.
and so does matt halpern but they have their own styles which i like... for example, casey and chris have monsters of voices when screaming but both lack the vocal range that spencer has... i think every vocalist had their own special way of delivering their songs...
No one can beat Chris with The Walk, but for clean vocals... Spencer is my fav... Listen to "Light" you'll see what i mean, Spencer is a great singer, but Chris is fucking insane with his screaming skills.
I am astonished by how good Chris Baretto is live! My favorite vocalist for Periphery WAS Casey, but man, austinleech's videos have shown a whole new light on Chris for me. I sincerely doubt Casey could replicate his vocal parts live to the degree that Chris has shown in these vids. Just Wow. Amazing vocalist!
From what I heard is Casey wasn't able to handle touring and such. Too much stress or whatever. I could've heard wrong though. But touring is tough. You really have to love what ur doing.

periphery could always get chris back and rerelease the album with him on vocals and add a few songs (misha has shitloads of songs)....it's already finished they just recorded it with spencer after chris was out of the band....sumerian records (there record label) did something similar with after the burial and rereleased there album rareform when they got a new vocalist......hmm....maybe you never know.
well I saw periphery live last night with spencer.. and he has gotten A LOT better than I heard a few months ago.. I still think chris was a better fit for periphery but spencer can fuckin sing! just gotta work on his low growls

I'll have to see what they will do in the years to come. But that night i left happy because I saw periphery in person.
Misha said that the reason that Casey left the band is because he just wasn't as good live, as he was in the studio. I'm not sure what happened with Chris, but the band has kept us in the dark about that, so I would respect their privacy. I'm actually a huge Casey fan. I love his cleans. I wasn't so big on his screams at first, but now that I've given it another listen, I really do love them. Periphery
and what exactly is wrong with that? at least their not dedicating the entire life to something like being in a hardcore/metal/progressive band and actually being realistic with its longevity. but for these guys i actually think theyll go far. their not a mainstream hardcore band either, so why dress like one? btbam doesnt all have long hair and they are amazing at what they do. dont rip on the smart kids!
I believe he was fired because he was an uncooperative dick. Spencer is also really fucking good at what he does. Fuck, he recorded the debut album in 3 weeks. The key for being a successful band is to obviously not be a dick and cooperate with your band. Spencer kick started Periphery's career, in my opinion. His godly range just blows the old vocalist's out of the water. Yes, Chris is amazing, but Spencer is just a better vocalist. Lineups change, man.
