Terrific project! They both turned out so well. Anyone else find themselves sorting along with Shelley? There were a couple of times when I thought "oh, I think that's more mid-range than low volume!" LOL
What a lovely way to use 5-inch squares! I have many French General ones which I kept together, looking for the 'right' pattern. This is it!!!. Thank you. It will be a most special quilt just for me.
Using charm packs helps because everything in each pack goes well with all of it. If you choose charm packs that blend (all pastels, or all blues, or all neon brights, etc.) your quilt will work. If you just grab 7 packs randomly, you're likely to end up with a hodge podge. You can always add 5" white or gray or neutral scraps
Omgoodness these are beautiful! My kind of sewing. I have around 120 charm packs. When i first started, i thought i could get a quilt out of 1. So i have a wide variety.
Another great idea. The second quilt reminds me of a zipper for some reason! I have piles of 5" squares I've cut from leftovers. Off to the sewing room I go!!😁
I love this pattern and how you simplified the piecing! I have so many charm packs that I have collected over the years, that this is the perfect project to use them up and the perfect project to take to my next retreat. Thanks.
I love how easy this pattern is! Just what I need. I don’t have enough charm squares so I’ll be cutting from my stash. Stashbusting! I love it! Thank you!
I know I would never remember to keep track of the time but that really was quite a quick quit top to put together! And I like how it turned out! I think it could be a great simple quilt to try when folks are just starting in quilts but don't want to do anything too boring or too hard.
This is one of my favorites in your series. I belong to a charm pack club so I am definitely going to try this pattern! Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
I am in the process of making this quilt. I am using red, cream and blue charm packs. I had total shoulder replacement surgery at the beginning of June, so I am not timing myself. I’m just grateful for this easy pattern! Thanks so much for your videos, they are most enjoyable, and you have an easy voice to listen to.
This would make a very nice quilt for my guild’s charity - children in crisis - but it would have to be a little shorter and a little less width for kids!
Love these tutorials! I made the Moda Love block after watching your video. It became a baby blanket for my nephew’s first and is one of my favorites. I have a bunch of 10” squares, so I’m off to make this one now! Thank you so much! 😁
I love this pattern! Your quilts look great! I have SO MANY 5" squares (scrap) this is perfect. I can't seem to throw them away so this is PERFECT! Thank you!
LOVE THIS! I'm pretty sure I have seen that pattern or something similar before, but watching you make it made me think "I could just use my scraps!" Or"some" of my hoarded 5 inch charm packs... OR like you did - make both.
I love this pattern because you aren’t precutting the charm squares into something smaller. I just want to sew them as they are cut!
Rewatching this today. I am starting to make one like this for myself using 7 charm packs of batiks. I really appreciate this video. So efficient!
I love the way you demonstrate, saving time , ironing and being frugal with all your pieces. Waste not , want not, and they all came out beautiful,
Terrific project! They both turned out so well. Anyone else find themselves sorting along with Shelley? There were a couple of times when I thought "oh, I think that's more mid-range than low volume!" LOL
I love it, for not picking and choosing what fabrics to sew together, it turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
I used 1 charm pack (37.5 squares) for a size of 22x30 - which I'll add 6"borders. Great video and pattern...very quick babyquilt.
Keep these ideas coming for charm packs, love ❤️ them.
How simple but lovely! Your instructions are easy and one for a future project!
A really enjoyable tutorial. You have another subscriber xxx
That's a lot of charm packs!
This is great!! Thank you for showing it both ways. And I love the fat quarter backing!!
Thanks for adding the number of fat quarters needed for the project! I don’t have a stash of charms, but I have fat quarters!
Brilliant tutorial and so quick and easy. Thank you. Kathleen
This reminds me of a Jelly Roll Race and is just about as quick! Your approach is super!
Love your tutorials, Shelley! Please keep them coming‼️😊
What a lovely way to use 5-inch squares! I have many French General ones which I kept together, looking for the 'right' pattern. This is it!!!. Thank you. It will be a most special quilt just for me.
I was surprised how it turned out. I have never made a scrappy quilt. Afraid to make one and hate it. This worked well. Thank you.

Somehow the scrappy quit is the preferred one for me. 😊 It's beautiful!
This looks like it would work for a quilt as you go project too!
Omgoodness these are beautiful! My kind of sewing. I have around 120 charm packs. When i first started, i thought i could get a quilt out of 1. So i have a wide variety.

I like the dark light swap. And I also like the scrap version. Thank you.
This is a fantastic quilt! I actually like the version where you used lights for the darks best. I can see how 2.5 inch strips could be used also 😉
