What a perfect idea to use to teach kids about quilts :). No cutting :). It you have several 9 and 10 year olds with rotary cutters it's a scary thing. Plus they can see their quilt taking shape in a short amount of time.
And can leave an hour lesson with beautiful results! Great idea! Thanks :) :) :)

I can’t thank you enough for showing me how to make a quilt. I made my mom a Mother’s Day quilt she has Alzheimer’s. I made it with all different color purples and in the middle I put a button she absolutely loved it. My husband was so impressed I told him I surprised myself. This was the first time I ever made a quilt now I’m hooked. I’m making a breast cancer quilt for my mom. She’s a cancer survivor I thank you once again❤.

I'm watching this with my 86 year-old mom who has been sewing for over 60 years. She has sewn many quilts over the years, they're all smaller pieces sewn together. She was amazed when she saw the final results of the first block, we both thought it was all pieces, not a small block sewn on top of a big block. This is so easy I might give it a try when I finally get around to trying my hand at sewing. I do want to do it some day, I just don't have the time for it. But a project like this might be what I need. This and other quick and easy projects I've seen on youtube.

I never quilted before then and I swore I was never going to again because it was so knit-picky and tiresome work. THIS, this I can do for lap blankets for all the old ladies in my life who are showing their age. I'ma saving this. Thanks for popping up in my YT feed today.

I have a new grand arriving in May and think I will make up some blocks to take to her showers and let ppl write prayers and scripture on them. I thought that folding and stitch technique might be able to be used in a cotton fabric as well and here you were!!! ❤ I love it!!!

I loved your idea/video. I wanted to make a signature quilt for a special wedding. The only thing different I did from yours was: Before sewing the last side of the original block, I inserted a 3 1/2" sq of a (light cardboard/ postcard/ cereal box ) into the center pocket before sewing the last strip side ( from the back) . Then I sewed it closed. I sewed all the blocks the same way.,and finished the quilt top like yours..... I brought the quilt top to the wedding and had the guest sign the center squares ( the cardboard made a solid surface to write on). I also made extra blocks, if more signatures were needed and for absent guests. After I got home, I cut a 1/4" slit with the rotory cutter on one side (the cardboard also helped) to remove the cardboard. I then cut the other 3 sides with scissors, to save the squares for trimming the border. A few of the extra blocks i used on the quilt back. Again THANK YOU for your beautiful block idea ❤❤❤
