Total newbie. When using prints can you explain how many of the same print you would need. I know you need 12 pieces but how many repeating of each one?
Thank you for your instruction. I do like this one. Will you be doing a block of the month for next year?
I don’t do a traditional block of the month but I’ll be continuing both my scrappy block series (12” blocks well suited for scraps) as well as my block study series (blocks in different precut friendly sizes)
What is the name of the fat quarter line you use? The fabrics designs are beautiful!
You can add your own “grippy dots” on your ruler by putting small dots of hot glue then letting them dry completely before using. I do this all the time with shoes that get too slick.
wow great idea!! thank you :)
Great idea, thanks!
Oh, great idea!
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing 😀
Sweet idea!
This would also make a great quilt back! Then you’d have a really reversible quilt. Love it Megan!
Woo!! You are a genius!!! I never even thought of that!
Yes!! I love that idea!
I love the layout for this quilt. Thank you! Just a suggestion, if you drew a line from corner to corner instead of cutting it, put two contrasting rectangles pieces right sides together, then stitched on both sides of the drawn line, a 1/4 inch away from the line, THEN cut it apart on the line, you would instantly get two 2 blocks and save some time. You also not have to worry about sewing those bias pieces back together. Just a thought! Thanks again for your video!
This only works if you have squares. If you do this with rectangles then you get quadrilaterals that look funny.
@@alcasey3034there is a way to sew rectangles, I saw a tutorial sonewhere on yt.
Love that you encourage us to “be the boss of your own quilting”. This is my kind of quilt most of mine end up unfinished because I get bored easily.
I’ve Never quilted, never seen your channel, but watched the entire thing! Drank my coffee and enjoyed myself! Nice job. I’ve always been interested but took up crocheting. Believe I’ll give quilting a go! Your quilt top is very pretty! Thank you
Me too 😂☺️
I absolutely love this!!! This is a must for me. thank you so much. I love simple fast projects :)
I love this! I think I will use 6 prints and 6 solids so it's not as busy. Thanks sooo much for such a quick and neat idea!
Wise choice!
Love those quick 1 hour quilts! I’m a beginner so that works🥰👏
Yes, would love to see more fast and easy big block quilts!
LOVE this line of fabric, such a great use of those huge prints that are too gorgeous to cut up. Kaffe Fassett would be awesome too. xxx
I love this. I’m a crocheted and knitter and have never made a quilt, but have been thinking about making one. This is great!
Hi Nancy, how's your day going with you?
I love how you explain what you're doing. You make great word choice that are concise and easy to understand. Enjoyed this tutorial very much!
Definitely great for any large size rectangles. I could make this work with some Kaffe scraps and some coordinating scraps. This also works for hospice quilts I make with a friend. Everyone deserves some color and pattern to brighten their day. Thank you!
This would be a fabulous picnic quilt! Stains would be perfectly hidden!
I love how fast you created 32 half square triangles!! I also love the Martelli rotary cutter...game changer for hands & wrists! ❤
I'm going to try the Martelli Rotary Cutter! 😊
@mygeorge1951 It's worth it. You hold it differently, so it takes the stress off your wrists.
I just found my Christmas present to myself! I have been looking for an easy fat quarter pattern for my first quilt, and I love yours. I am new to quilting, but not to sewing, and am finally deciding to put my machine’s quilting accessories to the test. I also followed your link to the fat quarters you used. I actually gasped when I saw Anna Maria’s “Bright Eyes” bundle. Since fabric has never made me do that before, I decided it was a match made in heaven and ordered it. I am so excited, thank you for making my night!
This sounds like a good way to quickly make my cat his own little quilt out of medium-sized leftovers from other projects. (He is always on a lap if a quilt is on it so he gets one at some point because he's a good boy who loves quilt snuggles.)
Aww, that’s so cute. 🥹
I absolutely love this and will help a friend make her very first quilt. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your time (even if it was just an hour, lol.)
OMG, these fabric choices! LOVE!
Love this! Such beautiful colours. You explained it so well. Enjoy all your tutorials. Thank you
Your fabric wall makes me 😊. So does your smile! Thank you for sharing!
The quilt top is charming. Please show an update when it is quilted. On a side note - I am always impressed with the quality of your videos, so professionally done 👍
Thank you so much!! I really do work hard on them so I’m glad it shows :). I just loaded this quilt on the longarm this morning! I still haven’t decided on a design but it’s such busy fabric I think I can pick something really fun :)
I loved this video, thanks for sharing!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts hi I'm new to quilting and I am sewing a quilt now I'm all done with the blocks and I started sewing them together now I'm not sure do you put sashing on all quilts and if so can I still put sashing on when block are sewn together please help
Love this method Megan! Sometimes it is nice to Keep It Simple!!! Thanks ~~Christy~~
I’ve been looking for something fast and easy - yay! I have a lot of fat quarters (batiks) and I’ll definitely be using this! Now to figure out how many I need to make it a queen size!
Really love the simplicity and colours of this piece. 👌💕
What a great pattern!! Thank you for sharing!!! Love all your videos.
We do like quick, fast, easy. I love the top. I think big prints with the lite dark contrast look great. Thank you
You can be the boss of ypur own blocks. Awesome
Be the boss of your own quilt top! Need to hang that on wall of my sewing area. Lovely quilt, thank you!
This makes me miss even more a former local quilt shop that had bins of fat quarters arranged by color. The owner retired after almost 30 years and now my area is down to one small quilt shop. ☹️
Wow..thanks for showing your fabrics...you have a lot I was going to get..the prints are huge!...just my style!..thanks peep!..🙋🏼♀️
I love Creative Grids rulers but you can buy grippy dots or strips to put on the back of other rulers
Great quilt pattern for big prints
That quilt looks awesome! Thank you for sharing this video!
I love this!!!! Gonna do Christmas quilts for gifts...4 kids and 7 grandkids! Thank you so much! Glad I found you!!! ☺️
Love this idea! I'm always looking for ways to use those colorful but orphan FQs we all seem to end up with. I've been cutting them into strips for "faux" jellyroll quilts and this idea gives me a nice alternative! Thank you! The quilt looks fantastic!
Thanks!! I do that same thing-cutting strips from extras. But now I’m so overloaded with strips!!
I liked this project. Thank you.
I really like it....has a nice boho vibe especially with the big flowers...TY
Super video all around. Super quilt! Super easy! Super quickl! And your joy in sewing, designing, and quilting is super as well!
Brilliant idea! I love seeing these types of quilt projects. Quick and easy to piece for those last minute quilts we need to throw together sometimes. Thanks for sharing it! You are so much fun!
Hello Priscilla, how are you doing?
I use odif grippy spray on ALL my rulers so the entire thing grips like quilters select rulers. It's amazing!!
I have a fat quarter of Star Wars for my grand daughter for a quilt. I bought it from Walmart on a day that I was ambitious. Still have the material but didn't get any other material for the second set. This quilt of yours will be perfect for her. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.
You're a wonderful teacher, thank you!
I just opened your video, and I am absolutely amazed by your quilts 💖🙋♀️🇸🇪
This looks so easy for me, who has never made a quilt. Also would make great charity quilts. Thank you.
Love it! Thanks Megan.
I love quilting haven’t in 15 years busy with work! 😢 But I bought a lot of Gnome Christmas fabric and want to make a few lap quilts for my nephews as gifts. This was a quick and easy way of me doing 10 quilts in the next couple of months that won’t take a long time! Thank you 🙏
How is it going?
I can’t wait to try this. How fun and I won’t have to cut up some of my large print florals. Thank you.
I love your channel, your energy, your absolutely beautiful❤️
Thank you for this video, quick quilt and usable.
I think it is a beautiful quilt. These are lovely colors. ♥️
I LOVE this quilt! TFS
Wow. Am inspired to go ahead and try this! Thank you for sharing!
so beautifully explained. Thank you!!!
My daughter is new to sewing and this came up just in time!
Thank you for sharing this. A simple quilt in terms of the seams, the cutting, and piecing together is always good to be able to do. They can be severely scrappy, (as a utilitarian quilt) or planned match, but either one will keep someone warm. And, they are good to practice new quilting techniques/patterns on.
I need to do this from my stash!.
Hi Barbara, how's your day going with you?
OMG. I love the dark fabrics!!
Hi Cathy, how's your day going with you?
My bestie has her own quilting machine and has done really outstanding quilts. She keeps saying i could do this. This tutorial is the 1st one I have watched that would make a great 1st quilt for me to try. Thank you for sharing.
This turned out wonderful thank you God bless
I love your energy; this would be perfect for my skill level. Thanks for posting! 😊
Hi Eliza, how's your day going with you?
Lovely. Quick & Creative. Nice!
I ❤️this. Thank you so much!
I'll be Back!! Love your presentation. Great idea working with fat quarter.
I'd love a quilt like this! I can't sew other than by hand and have never quilted.
I just have to admire anyone who makes quilts, amazing!❤️🇦🇺
Hi Amanda, how's your day going with you?
So cute! Great idea!
I love it and am planning on doing this with my KF CC fabrics ❤
Such a fun, easy quilt!
Wow that was fast amazing as well thanks for sharing with us 😃😃😃💐💐💐👏👏👏👏💕💕💕😊😊😊
I am so glad you actually sew!
I've learned that whenever I need to pair light/dark together, I stack them that way before cutting. That way they're ready to be sewn together. Sort of a "twin" style quilt where 2 blocks are the same. It saves me loads of time (as long as I learn to not mess with the pairing because I changed my mind lol).
Your quilt is really beautiful with the large prints!
Thanks for this easy quilting project using one of my favorite fabric lines!
Hi Marie, how's your day going with you?
I loved it thank you so much for sharing
Dear Megan,
I wanted to let you know that I watched your fat quarter quilt tutorial and decided to give it a try. After many many errors and way longer than an hour I finally finished the top and thought I would share it with you.
Hi Barbara, how's your day going with you?
Very nice!!! Lovely quilt.
I have enough fat quarters to make at least 5 of these quilts . I will start making one today . Thanks for your idea.
I don't quilt, but I'm enjoying seeing you using those tools, the cutting board, and those BEAUTIFUL fabrics. I didn't know about gridded cutting boards, rotary cutters, and those big measuring things. I've used triangles, and T-squares, but not what you have there.
I love this. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this! I am new enough to quilting to still struggle, and instant gratification like this keeps me from giving up on the whole process! 🙃 Glad I stumbled onto your video - now following!
Dear Dee: Sewing on the bias like the triangles are, you just have to be careful not to stretch your fabric. You can stitch about 2" and carefully PUSH not pull on thetopfabric to help ease it into the one underneath. Just lift your presser foot push to ease gently and sew a few more inches. It's called "Park and Pinch"
Thank you for the wonderful and fast gift idea! I really love the fabrics that you used too! Delish!! ❤️
Hello Tami, how are you doing?
Just subscribed. Beautiful colors, I love all the colors. Can’t wait to try this. It will be my first Quitting project. I sew, but never made a quilt before.
On vacation with my sewing machine and doing your heart quilt into table runner and wall hanging. Thanks for your great tutorials.
What a great vacation!! I've never travelled with a sewing machine but its so tempting sometimes!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts I travel with mine. Hardest thing for me is only bringing just enough fabrics! I set up my table outside if camping. So fun to sit snd sew outside.
Love it 😍
Try an 8 pound dumbell on the other end of your ruler to prevent slipping.
Great video - thank you for sharing. Looking forward to using up some of my fat quarters.
I thought this was going to be a complete quilt made in an hour I said no way.
Looks really easy to teach grandkids. Thanks for all you do. I will be making one of these for a gift.
Hi Mary, how's your day going with you?
Thank you. This is perfect for a beginner
I really like for just as you said large prints, LV prints would be nice too for quick but calmer quilt. Thanks Megan 🌈
I was so glad I grabbed these big prints for this one-those large scale Anna Maria florals need to be kept as big as possible! :)
I wanted to cut the two sewn triangles in half and then see them together even more mixed up... 😁. I'm looking for something easy to begin my first quilt. This is pretty simple! Thanks! Good video.
Love it!!!
Thank you so much! You are easy to listen to and your instructions are so clear!
Hi Michelle, how's your day going with you?
Such a lovely happy quilt!!!!!
Hello Sandra, how are you doing?
This pattern is great for using up extras. Thanks!
I love fabrics !
Thank you very much for this project I love it. I was watching and thought of all the large prints I have and how good they would look in this pattern.
Hello Michelle, how are you doing?
Love it. Thank you for sharing!

I love this. Definitely going to try it
Thank you for sharing this quick & easy quilt!! I have some of these prints. Love Anna Marie Horner fabric but hate to cut it. Now I know what to do with it!!
Hi Debra, how's your day going with you?
