AMEN Sister!!! I got so tired of the fabric snobs in our quilting guild that I left them forever!! My quilts are used! I learned to quilt with my grandmother and old clothes . $14.00 a yard fabric is waaaaaaaay out of my price range and ridiculous to pay.

Was looking at another of your videos and realized I'd never commented on this one. Saw it two years ago when I was in the midst of making a "bunch" of quilts for Christmas and needed a quick replacement for something else I had planned to make. OMG, this has become my favorite "go to" quickie quilt design!! I'd always seen other quilters talk about the design they make over and over but never had one. Now this is mine!
I made that Christmas quilt, then made another one for a raffle (the winner was thrilled with it!), I have another one that I need to finish quilting for a gift, pieced another one this past Spring after seeing a "couldn't pass it up" 9 pc FQ bundle and have fabrics pulled for three more for gifts.
Also love how this is a great pattern to learn about choosing fabrics that go together. The video on the same design that Matt @ Scrappy Patch did was a big help in understanding just how the fabrics you choose will "play" in the design. And big ups to Darlene Michaud for inspiring us all! So sorry for the long and long over due comment but just had to pass along my appreciation to you for sharing this!

From a British perspective, let me tell you, you guys in America are BLESSED by God to even have the option of Walmart fabric! Our supermarkets here do not routinely sell cheapie fabric. My quilt shop where I DO buy too dang much fabric does a quilt drive every year and takes them to Alaska for the homeless men. these quilts will be living outdoors! $13 a yard isn't going to keep them warm any better than $4 a yard. I have no problem with Walmart fabric. I have just completed my first 3 yard quilt with it. I was putting it off so long because I was terrified of cutting. You made it look so easy! And if I screwed it up it wasn't $12.99 a yard. I'm on my second and two more in line. What fun it is! You learn as you go and I just might tackle the more expensive fabrics.

I want quilting to be for everyone. And it should be for everyone. My grandmother didn’t make clothes for her children because she was wealthy. And quilting wasn’t started by those with means. We can all quilt and love it. Thank you for watching and commenting. 😀

I really enjoy your channel and liked all your quilts at the end! The way you quilted it was simple, but looked great. This is where I need practice. Also with machine binding, so both sides look good. I don’t sew by hand anymore(arthritis). Great video. By the way, loved seeing your fabric room!
