If you are doing light with dark squares you can press to the dark side so the seam doesn’t show and your seams will always be going in the right direction to next.
I would get 4 printed charm packs and 2 each of the solids. I think if you essentially made 4 of these quilts stuck together you would have a quilt measuring 64" by 76" which is pretty close to twin. Then grab one more charm pack if you want it to be longer! Hope that is helpful :)
So many videos like this "Make a Quilt in 3 Hours!" when really it is a quilt TOP you're making. You still have to cut your backing, baste the quilt, do the quilting, make and sew on the binding. Making the top is just Step 1.
With pre-cuts, chain piecing, and machine quilting, if someone was making a baby quilt or throw and was experienced, I'll bet they could whip out each of them in three hours, especially if doing a simple straight-line quilt stitch following the pieced lines.
I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that. There’s no way you can do that for quilt in three hours. However, it is a good tutorial for a quilt top. It should say that in the title.
It's a Tailors Clapper not a quilters clapper, semantics I know, but they were created and used by tailors long before they became a thing in the quilting communities
There is something definitely wrong with your tension in that first & second quilt all of your seams are puckering. I didn’t watch the third one if you did a third one Most people press to the darker color
I love charm square quilts, they are quick, but I don't like matching seams. If you start and end every other row with half a charm square there are no seams to match.
When making the Buffalo Plaid quilt you sewed over your pins. If. Beginner’s see this they may think it’s ok. It’s not! You can break needles if you hit the pins. It’s not good for your machine to do that. Also as stated by other comments, your seams shouldn’t be puckering. There is an issue with your machine or your tension. You should check it. Otherwise the patterns are easy and I’m especially interested in the Buffalo print one.
When sewing quilts, pre-washing is optional, a lot of quilters prefer not to prewash because then the fabric will shrink a tiny bit after the quilt is sewn and quilted and give a cute crinkly look. High quality quilting cottons will only shrink about 5%, too. But when sewing clothes, always prewash! Hope that helps!
You didn’t make a quilt in three hours, you pieced a quilt top in three hours. You still need to put the quilt together and quilt it ( stitch everything together) and sew on the edging.
Great tutorial on using charm packs. Love the simplicity of your instruction.
Thank you for watching!!
These tutorials are very well done. Thank you for the free patterns! I enjoyed watching and adding some quick quilts to my repertoire.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching!
I am so thankful for the clear instructions. I will definitely try these quick ideas. Thank you 😊

Great patterns! I've been wanting to make a plaid quilt and this is the best and easiest instructions to follow.
Thank you! 😊 Happy Sewing!
Sweetie, look at your tension. Cute fabric and pattern! Happy sewing!
I was thinking the same thing.
Thanks I did and it's all good now!! :)
I am definitely making the Buffalo Plaid. Thank you so much for the patterns! 💝 And thank you for showing different sizes.
You are so welcome!
You might want to check your thread tension or maybe change your needle. That might fix those puckers. ❤ cute quilts!
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you I just learned a troubleshooting tip for the puckers. 😊
I was thinking the same thing. Def got an issue. BUT what a cute and quick quilt!!!
@@Nunya-biz-ness I agree, it’s adorable!
I came to see how many people said this in the comments! And say it myself as well. 🤣

Was going to suggest the same 😂
Great tip!
Love the striped binding!
Thank you, I love it too!! Stripes make such neat binding!
Love the Buffalo Plaid!! I wonder what I have in my stash!?!!
Thank you! It's so beautiful no matter what colors you use!

Glad you liked it!
Thank you for a great idea 💡😊
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching Laura!
Hey, love these. If a person wanted to make a twin size out of the 3rd pattern, could you tell me how many charms it would take? Thank you!!

I think your thread tension if off. It’s causing your fabric to pucker
I changed my needle and it is fine now! Thanks!

True! These are quick quilt tops though, enjoy!

True! The one I used was made for quilters, it's a little smaller than a typical apparel one. But you are right!
There is something definitely wrong with your tension in that first & second quilt all of your seams are puckering. I didn’t watch the third one if you did a third one
Most people press to the darker color
I noticed that too. Also wondered if she needed to change the needle.
I have been struggling with the tension I think I need to take it in for a tune-up!
Yeah probably! Haha i get carried away and forget to change my needle. My tension is definitely off though
@@seekatesew could be something with your feed dogs also
Thanks
I would like to see how you sew that flowers on the quilt. Do you have another video showing that?
No, I don't. I had a longarm quilter do that part! They use really big machines and I don't have one! :)
Watching your assembly , I couldn't help but notice you're stitching was gathering the fabric. Did you check the stitch length?
It was an old needle! Whoops!
I love charm square quilts, they are quick, but I don't like matching seams. If you start and end every other row with half a charm square there are no seams to match.
Ah smart! Thanks!
Can you give the sizes of the quilts at the beginning? Love your quilts
Oh good idea - I will do that next time! The sizes are listed in the blog post that is linked in the description. Thanks for watching!

It's such a bad habit but I hate stopping to take the pins out! I should probably stop doing that! Hope you enjoy the buffalo plaid pattern!
@@seekatesew I love the pattern and I’m planning on making it. Thank you for sharing it.
I've never used pre-cut fabric. Do you wash them before you use them? I was taught to wash and press my fabric before I use it.

Thanks for watching Colette!
What type of iron is that? I never use an iron - don't even own one but think i could find room to store one of that size.
It's the called the Oliso mini project iron - I love the size of it. It's plenty big for so many projects and so simple to use!
Cute quilts. I’m concerned about your tension. Your seams are puckering
Thanks! I fixed the tension - I just needed a new needle, whew!
Those quilts are boring just sawing a bunch of squares together with no real design
They are very basic - but great for a beginner and perfect if you have a pretty fabric you want to showcase!
Ooooo…. Tension is off
It was so off!!
Ive had the same problem today puckers!!! If i wanted it to pucker I'd be trying for years ..lol
It was my bobbin tension all good
Tension was off
Your squares shouldn’t pucker like that. Something is wrong with your tension or you need a new needle.
Thanks! I changed my needle and it is fine now!
You didn’t make a quilt in three hours, you pieced a quilt top in three hours. You still need to put the quilt together and quilt it ( stitch everything together) and sew on the edging.
Yes that is very true! The edging takes me about 3 hours alone :)
