We had a house fire when I was 16. (Nearly 50 years ago). One thing I remember most is the simple scrap quilts donated to us. I have one still, even though it’s ragged and worn now it is still a treasure.
I love that word "beguiled" that you used to describe the instant compulsion to take home a fabric line example that speaks to you. Yes, I have been beguiled.
I like the idea of having a go-to emergency quilt. If you have the pattern, fabric, batting, backing, and thread at the ready many of your decisions evaporate. I also loved your suggestion to substitute the word “inventory” for the word “stash.” It’s much more elegant. You create the t-shirts and I’ll buy one!
I completely agree with your comment that the recipient doesn't care that its a simple pattern. People are so touched that you made something just for them. That has been my experience as well. I am also not super experienced at quilting, so the simple ones turn out better!
New subscriber here - thank you for the pattern in so many sizes - I do make charity quilts for our local juvenile shelter and some are in police cars in case of emergency.
Love the idea. I make scrap blocks in 10" squares and keep them till I have enough to make something. This would be great to offset with solid colors. Also, I think I would make it into a flip and sew quilt. I have made a lot of those for charity in the past.
Thank you so much! Sometimes I hear about a worthy cause, but there's not enough time for me to make a quilt before the deadline. This pattern is perfect. So handy to have the yardage for so many sizes.
Thank you for this pattern. I am fairly new to quilting but come from a long line of quilter’s. I don’t have much of a stash but would get the fabric if I could for someone who needed it. God’s blessings!
Thank you for your generosity. Nice looking quilt, too. I have been thinking about making a couple of quilts with flannel. Thank you for those tips, too. Take care and blessings to y'all.
I am a new subscriber. Always need to have such a pattern for an emergency situation. Love your presentation manner...pleasant, informative and so easy to follow. Thank you for the free pattern which is so generous!
Hi Kaye. I am trying to print your free pattern and I'm unable to figure out how to do that. I've subscribed to your channel with my email address. The page looks like a PDF but it doesn't have a printing option. I tried saving the pattern nothing happens there either. What am I doing wrong?

Working on simple quilts builds your techniques and muscle memory for a strong foundation for more advanced skills.
Such a beautiful gift to your viewers.

You are right! It’s not cheap to make a quilt!

New quilter and subscriber. Thanks for the free pattern. I need help.
How much yardage did you need for the backing fabric for the 86" x 86" size shown in the free pattern?
I didn't see any info on that.
Thank you for this. I get "beguiled" me nearly every time I enter a quilt shop!!

What a blessing! Thank you for this!
Sometimes simple is best! …..and beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Instead of my "stash", I like to say I am shopping in my own "store". (And it is so convenient that my "store" is in my sewing room.)
Where do you go to download this pattern? Would like to make it. Thanks.
And your store is always open!
Thanks for sharing your gift!
What a fabulous idea!!!! Wonderful video
Thank you so much for sharing the pattern. ❤
I am reasonably skilled at sewing, but I've never made a quilt before. I don't have a quilting sewing machine. Maybe this pattern might work for me
You don’t need a special sewing machine to make quilts, but having a machine with a larger throat space helps.
You could absolutely make it by hand but you may also be able to find a free or inexpensive sewing machine in your area’s classifieds.
how do you get free pattern
How can I get the pattern?

How do I get this pattern, TIA
I tried to download but didn't want to sign up to Dropbox. The file that downloaded won't open up.
I could not download it either.
You don't have to sign up for Dropbox. You can click on some small print that gives you the option to continue without signing up.
