I'm new to Sew Yeah and enjoyed the simplicity of this large version of the potato chip pattern. Brody's a natural at keeping is simple and fun. I've never been around men who knew anything about sewing much less could do it. I am impressed by the skill and knowledge of all of you at Sew Yeah. Keep those videos coming.
That's a wonderful Idea. I love making Potato Chip quilt blocks out of 2 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch pieces. I could make Project Linus quilt tops much faster by using larger pieces. Thank you for this wonderful idea. I wonder if I could make the whole quilt by quilting as I go? Well it is worth a good try.
Potato Chip blocks have been around since at least the 1970s, but they have enjoyed a resurgence in the past few years due to quilt bloggers and RUclips.
Cute quilt. I like it more than I initially thought I would. Btw for me the background music was very distracting. Idk if it was because it was there or because of the type of jazzy music. I think it would be better wo it. Imho❤
Great job Brody. You did a great job explaining everything as you went. I didn't have any questions after watching the video. Everything was very clear to make this quilt. Sew Yeah Family keep up the great work.
Just decided that this pattern is going to be my denim quilt and I'm going to hand tie it instead of machine quilting it. Can't imagine fighting with all that denim with smaller pieces.
Thanks for the video. It would be helpful if you would show close ups of the quilting that was done on the one hanging behind. It's great to get ideas fo the quilting portion, not just piecing.
"70 Acres" on RUclips... or "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore with Brenda" are the videos to watch for making Potato Chip Blocks and quilts... check them out...
We highly recommend the Panasonic Cordless Iron for quilters, one of those tools you don't know how much you'd appreciate it until you use it. Find it on our website here: sewyeahquilting.com/products/panasonic-cordless-steam-iron-metallic-blue?_pos=1&_sid=f0fa261b1&_ss=r
We are working around the clock to keep them in stock!! Thank you so much for your patience 😊 We have included the yardage in the free pattern which is in the description of this video: You will need 20 strips measuring 6 1/2" by Width of Fabric!
Sorry, we underestimated the overwhelming response for our Vegas Strips and we're working hard to give more people an opportunity to get some. We really appreciate your patience! We also offer Vegas Strips during our Live Fabric Sales here on RUclips every Tuesday and Saturday. Learn more here: ruclips.net/video/Nzv2Jh9h6hw/видео.html
Brody, I'm so confused. Every time I click on the link that takes me to your ecomm site, there is only ONE package of vegas strip. I'm watching the video 6 hours after posting. And this is the second tutorial that I've wanted to go and purchase, but there is nothing on the site. What is going on?

The original size of fabrics pieces are 2.5” x 4.5” instead of 6.5” x 12.5”. The 2.5 x 4.5 pieces are about the size of potato chips (or at least someone thought that).
Because you... 'cant' make just one!"... (like a potato chip, you can't eat just one!) This was 'coined' by Brenda of "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore" on RUclips...

If you can figure out how to make the whole quilt by quilting as you go, let us know how you did it 😁
This would be a great pattern for longarmers to practice! Those individual rectangles are the perfect size for different designs.
Great idea!
That is a very fast quilt to make. I love quilts like that. Thankyou for the pattern.
Thanks for watching!
I love how you always sew up a different colour way. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
The potato chip block was popularized by "Conquering Mt Scrapmore with Brenda" RUclips channel.
Potato Chip blocks have been around since at least the 1970s, but they have enjoyed a resurgence in the past few years due to quilt bloggers and RUclips.
Yes, when Brenda launched hers it sure took off!!
Thank you, Brody❣️
Pretty colors❤
Thank you!!
Loooks like something that I can successfully enjoy doing as a novice! Thanks!
Exactly!
I like seeing the bigger block demo. I also like my machine into a cabinet instead of on top where my project hangs off.
I am definitely interested in making this with one of my Vegas Strips. Thank you, Brody! 😍
I love how easy it is to make.
It is easy! Thanks for watching!

Already cut and working on it. Such a great pattern for fun, bold prints. I used the scraps to make a piano key strip to incorporate in my binding.
Wow that was fast!! 🤯
Can't get more easy then that! Will be making this one, probably more then once! LOL
You can't... Make two, or three, they're so easy! 🧵😊

Cute quilt. I like it more than I initially thought I would. Btw for me the background music was very distracting. Idk if it was because it was there or because of the type of jazzy music. I think it would be better wo it. Imho❤

Love your BIG block! My current scrap buster project is the Potato Chip at 1.5 x 2.5”. Small but looks great and is a terrific Leader Ender. !
I love decostitch! I'm planning on making some nicu quilts from this pattern.

Loved the video but Jesus in the background is what got my sub 🥰😘💖
Love it!!!
Just decided that this pattern is going to be my denim quilt and I'm going to hand tie it instead of machine quilting it. Can't imagine fighting with all that denim with smaller pieces.
Wow we would love to see that quilt!!
I love all of the patterns which use the Vegas strips, but when will more Vega strips be added to the Sew Yeah website?
We are working hard to keep them in stock!! Thank you so much for your patience 😊
Love this! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!!
Love it!!
Glad you like it!
Thanks for the video. It would be helpful if you would show close ups of the quilting that was done on the one hanging behind. It's great to get ideas fo the quilting portion, not just piecing.
Noted!
I met you guys a couple of years ago in Boise. We need you all to come to our Battle MOuntain guild show next Aug 2025.
love your tutorial....clear, concise, quick! Question: could this pattern be pieced with serger? I'm just learning to do that. thank you!
I think so!
Cool look so easy ❤
It is! 😊
Can I take this same idea with a jelly roll and make a baby quilt. Fairly new to quilting.
Yes! Size is 2 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch’s I made a baby quilt also. So cute ❤I used the whole jelly roll.
Going to give it a try tomorrow.
I was thinking the same thing. It’ll just take longer to make, but possible.
"70 Acres" on RUclips... or "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore with Brenda" are the videos to watch for making Potato Chip Blocks and quilts... check them out...
Would be pretty in baby prints also.
Great idea!!
Love love love it sooooo much thanks for sharing this beautiful quilt ❣️🪡✂️🧵💖❤️❤️💓💕💗
Thank you sew much!!! ❤
How many packs of fabric do you need to make that quilt? Beautiful by the way.
You only need one Vegas Strip! We just uploaded our free pattern for this tutorial, check it out in the description!
Cute way to execute aquilt.
We think so too!
Thanks!
You are welcome
What iron are you using? I’ve never seen one like it!❤

Will you be adding Vegas Strips on your website? I only see one on the website. Can you provide the yardage if we want to cut our own strips?
We are working around the clock to keep them in stock!! Thank you so much for your patience 😊 We have included the yardage in the free pattern which is in the description of this video: You will need 20 strips measuring 6 1/2" by Width of Fabric!
This would be a good quilt made in shirt prints to give to a guy.
I wonder if you can make this quilt with the QAYG method
If you figure out how, let us know!!
Was the quilt behind you made with Vegas strips? It looks smaller than the one you made.
Yes.
Objects in the video are bigger than they appear 😂
I’d like to have the same colors you used on the one your making
👍👍👍💕
Also some blocks could be made of smaller acraps.
👍🤗😊
Only 2 choices for vegas strips, need more options

What size of quilt does the kit make
60x71 😁

might've sold out quickly.

How many strips are there in your Vegas strip pack?
Between 19 and 21! It depends on the collection
I wonder what this quilt would look like if it was only done with two colors
I saw no Vegas Strips in stock. Bummer
We are literally adding more right now... Stay tuned for an update!
Love the patterns but the music. Not so much. Silence is golden. Rather listen to instructions.
Agree. That jazzy background music was very distracting...irritating to be honest.
Noted! 📝
Why oh why does everyone feel they have to have “music” playing in the background? Rarely do I appreciate the choices, it just makes it difficult to concentrate on the content of the video (and often, like now, gives me a headache!!!)
Thanks for your feedback!
Hi. I like the quilt design and colours. Unfortunately for hearing impaired people the background music is annoying. 🙁
Sorry about that!
why is it called a potato chip quilt
The original size of fabrics pieces are 2.5” x 4.5” instead of 6.5” x 12.5”. The 2.5 x 4.5 pieces are about the size of potato chips (or at least someone thought that).
Because you... 'cant' make just one!"... (like a potato chip, you can't eat just one!) This was 'coined' by Brenda of "Conquering Mt. Scrapmore" on RUclips...
🤔🤔😁😁😁
Guess they are all sold out……again!
watch the live shows on youtube, and there are often more offered there.
