Thank you Flexispot for my new awesome desk! Don't forget to check out all the discounts on the Flexispot website. And let me know what you think about my potato chip quilt blocks! 😂😂 Enjoy! Sandy
I have wonky blocks, no big deal. It makes it unique and someone that doesn’t know anything about quilts. Will never know. I can’t sew straight for nothing so I don’t worry about it. Thank you, Sandy.
Thank you for the encouragement to keep sewing quilts! Many years ago, I took a quilt piecing class and got so discouraged because the teacher insisted on perfect seams, and I just couldn't do it! So I gave up. But seeing how cute your quilts turn out, I'm encouraged to try again!
That's kind of heartbreaking, that people take classes to learn to do something and get started and leave the classes completely discouraged. For me, it's all about the doing it and having fun in the process, the rest is definitely not as important... Please, do. Give it another go and we're all here if you have any questions 😁
Don't give up. I'm a new quilter and a wonky sewer and my works so far look good. Self taught with the big help from Sandy and other RUclips tuitions. 💞
I recommend Merry Mabel Market and Amy Dement's channels. They are all about straight ish, and Merry's catch phrases are it doesn't matter and who cares. She has a quilt called twinkling stars because its triangles at random angles so they kind of twinkle
I've made multiple versions of the potato chip quilt and I love it! I make a lot of charity quilts and this block is perfect for it. I always cut bricks when working on other projects so I have a tub ready to go all the time.
I highly recommend Clutter Bug. I found her approach to organizing and decluttering worked brilliantly for me. Also, I had to cyber stalk you to find out where your adorable accent is from. Ha! Found it! :-)
I absolutely loved your video and this pattern!! I have been wanting to quilt and have looked at so many patterns, but can't decide. This seems like a good starting point. Thank you and thank you for the links!
I’m scared of white but can picture versions using black or swapping the white for cool tones with mixed warms and vice versa 🤩 Keep the scrap busters coming!!
Hi, there was! I woke up with the house shaking, never felt that before but luckily it was all okay. The pets didn't even noticed it, only when the car alarms started up. Thank you so much for asking 😀
Hi Sandy. This idea has been around for several years I think. I first saw a potato chip block when Brenda at Conquering Mount Scrapmore made them. She has several variations on her channel. Also check out Melissa at 70 Acres Studio. She worked the blocks to have different centres.
I now know I'm a wonky sewer 😂 No matter how hard I try to be better, it hasn't worked. But...I only started quilting last month, so time for improvement, and I love what I've made so far. 5 projects but 2 are work in progress. 💞
I loved seeing this potato chip done in two color ways. This really gives me some ideas, like taking a warm color block and a cool color block cutting them in half, then sewing one of each color together, for a 1/2 & 1/2 block. (But it wouldn't be exactly square, having been cut, but there's ways to get around that!).
I like to find a print with a great variety of colors that speak to me. When I pull fabrics that coordinate with the inspiration piece, they coordinate with each other.
I think a little wonky is just giving the quilt some personality. I will say that making a potato chip quilt can help a beginner get more consistent on their seams The more you do them the better you get. But even if you get some wonky in there, it's a very forgiving pattern. Your quilt will be so pretty!
Hi Julie, it's amazing, I love mine. You can find a link in the description for Flexispot desks and all the offers they have available right now. Mine is an E7 plus.
I love the way your quilt turned out... but to my eye it looks more planned than scrappy... when I think of a scrappy quilt... there are all kinds of shapes and sizes of fabric and you really dont notice where the blocks come together
I had to laugh. I also watch too many YT videos on how to organize, not just scraps, but the entire craft room. I think I have watched too many videos and now have action paralysis. 😢
Thank you Flexispot for my new awesome desk!

Yes, it's a perfect project for that, you can use scraps,. it's quick enough to do and the results are stunning 😀
Sandy, you spoke to my heart ❤❤❤
Love the variation of the colors
Love that 🥰🥰🥰
Nice idea to change the color and the position of the white
Sandy, I love how joyful you are. Thank you for sharing this block.💗
Thank you 😊
I love how you did your blocks! I have seen several people make the “potato chip” block. Yours was different & I love it! Thanks for sharing it!
My pleasure 😀
I made two potato chip quilts in the past year and have finally got my scraps under control. And it was fun!
Love that! It really is the best for scraps

I loved the outcome, it was beautiful. I learned more about using the color wheel.

I made one 3 years ago and have the pieces cut for another. It seems like it has recently become popular. I gifted the quilt to my oldest daughter.
That's lovely
very nice Sandy!
It's beautiful...thank you..❤❤❤❤
Good use of your scraps!

Yes, a black version will look gorgeous! 😊
Very well explained n wonderful quilt
Hello Sandy,
Just read in the News,That there has been an earthquake for the Portugal Coast.,thuis morning. Are you alright?
Hi, there was! I woke up with the house shaking, never felt that before but luckily it was all okay. The pets didn't even noticed it, only when the car alarms started up. Thank you so much for asking 😀
So gorgeous.
Sew cute!!!! ❤
I love them both, thank you

Hi Sandra, that's awesome! And yes, as with anything, you do improve with practice. Happy sewing! 🧵
I’ve got wonky work myself but I keep on going. The more you quilt the better u get . Keep up the quilting💕

That would look awesome. Yes, there's no way to get a perfect square that way withou ruining all the other halves.
I have a similar table ❤ mine, for all the reasons you mentioned.
It's great! 😀
Thank you great tutorial greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪 ❤
Hi! How's the weather in Sweden?
I like this a lot. I'm just starting out, but the scraps multiply as I get fabric from different sources. Thanks for the demonstration.
Yeah, scrap piles grow really fast and these kinds of projects are perfect to use them.
Nice!
Which table did you get? I have been searching for a new sewing table and I have almost decided this was the right one.
Mine is the E7Pro. I love it,.it totally changed the way I do things around here.
Thank you. Love it.
I like to find a print with a great variety of colors that speak to me. When I pull fabrics that coordinate with the inspiration piece, they coordinate with each other.
Yeah, that's a great way too 😁

If I’m working on a scrappy quilt, I just grab and sew. I can’t be bothered in trying to coordinate colors.🤪🤪
Usually I do that too,. it's the best way,. really. But for this one I really wanted the contrasts to work in the middle of all that white 😀
Following you now i make quilts but with bandanas
That sounds so cool! 😁
@@seweasybysandy Thank you
Could you please provide a link to this table for me? I love the large size of it!!! Thanks!!
Hi Julie, it's amazing, I love mine. You can find a link in the description for Flexispot desks and all the offers they have available right now. Mine is an E7 plus.
Why do you sew using only the sleeve arm of your machine?
Hi. Because I usually use the quilting table but it takes up too much space and I have no idea where the other part is 🤷
I love the way your quilt turned out... but to my eye it looks more planned than scrappy... when I think of a scrappy quilt... there are all kinds of shapes and sizes of fabric and you really dont notice where the blocks come together
Yes, this is definitely more structured than the usual scrappy quilt. Still a great scrap buster though 😊
What is the name of your cutting table
It's a Flexispot E7 Pro. I love it so much 🥰
I had to laugh. I also watch too many YT videos on how to organize, not just scraps, but the entire craft room. I think I have watched too many videos and now have action paralysis. 😢
Yeah, absolutely! It's so overwhelming!!
To much white in it
