you just identified why i dont sew more--you said something like, "it takes me a week of admiring and smelling/stroking the fabric to get the courage to cut it." yessssssss! THAT! 🎯 also, THANK YOU for making your vids condensed and short. nothing turns me off more than a 45+ min video. just sayin.
Oh my, I remember my sister and I had to share a bed and we had a blanket like that. It was super fun guessing what square the other was thinking of.😂 ❤❤
This is gorgeous. A trip around the world is definitely on my list. Might be the only way I get to trip around the world. sigh. Never mind, sewing is so relaxing and interesting it's as good as a holiday. Loved the video Sandy.
First time watching Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! Loved your way of putting all the scapes together. I’m in the process now and it’s going to help me a lot. Thanks
For quilters pressing is very important for a good finished quilt. More emphasis on pressing the seams and which way they are pressed should be given for good results without twisted seams.
I've made 3, TATW quilts I love this pattern. First one 2 1/2" second one 3 1/2" third 4 1/2" strips. Planning another 2 1/2" one this time I will make trip around the block in summery colours.
I'm wanting to start quilting! Waiting to retire... for the last time! This looks challenging, but you make it look easy. Will have to try this! Already getting material though! Stop at quilt shops when we go for drives on the weekend.
How do you go about actually quilting this? Do you use your machine? Do you quilt by hand? Or do you use a long-arm quilter? I'm just getting to know my free motion quilting feature of my machine, and it's a pretty tricky skill to learn!
If I were to quilt it I would either use super simple straight lines or free motion quilting. Or maybe do quilt as you go so you wouldn't have any visible lines.
If I use 2 1/2" strips, how long should I cut them? I would like to know the ratio between strip width and length. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Hi. So if you use 5 2.5 inch strips and sew them together you need to remove the seam allowance, which mine is 1/4inch per strip, so 2 inches off. So you would get a 10.5 inch square. If it were 6 strips, it would be 2.5inch seam allowance, so 12.5 inch square and so on.
@@seweasybysandyI heard someone say we have to let the fabric fulfill its destiny. Now if I don’t use it I am keeping the fabric from its destiny. I’ll be cutting it soon.
This is it! The one I would happily make for the rest of my quilting days. Also, it's pretty fun! Have you ever tried a mini trip around the world?

I get it! The trick is to buy fabric at different times so you can be at different stages at all times heheh
I loved this quilt, Thanks!

Love that 😃
I was the lucky finder of a vintage (1930s-40s) Trip Around the World quilt at the thrift store last year. I love it!!! ❤
Uhhj it must.be beautiful! 😻
I love watching your videos! You are enthusiastic but not anxious. Btw your voice reminds me of Rory from Gilmore girls.
Hi. Thank you, I love her voice 🥰
I love your enthusiasm. Thank you for all your colourful quilt ideas.
Thank you 😊

Thank you 😊 well, you could be worse off as far as trips around the world go...
@@seweasybysandy 😂😂 Yes, that's true. A lovely alternative.

I’d call this quilt a Mini trip around Ireland, as you have an Irish chain link due to the white squares, ❤😂
I love that 🥰😊

Sounds like a great start! 😁
I've just bought a jelly roll and fat quarter. Love the trip, making it in yellow, orange and blue. Hey! Love you too
Thank you so much! Pre cuts are so much fun, happy sewing! 😁
You just sucked the mystery out of the Trip Around the World quilt!
Thank you!🤗🤗🤗
It needed to be done! Heheh
This is beautiful
Your enthusiasm is contagious! 🫶
Thank you 😀
Soooo pretty
👏👏👏wonderful, and it’s on my wannado list!
Thank you so much for what you teach us🥰
❤️😀
Happy sewing! 😀
I love the colors 🤩
Fantastic love it❤ thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you
Beautiful 😊
thank you 😀
Love it, beautiful! Happy sewing.
Thank you, happy sewing 😁
Cute cute cute.
Thank you 😊
It’s beautiful but I would start with 2.5” strips because I don’t have the patience for 1.5” strips! 😂 Love from Ohio 💞💞💞💞
That would make it even quicker 😁
Could a person use jelly roll strips or cut 2 and a half inch strips?
Yes, a jelly roll would make the whole thing even quicker.

I think 15 inches would be the correct way, she cut them 9 inches for 1.5 inches so that is 1.5 x6 = 9 so 2.5 x 6 = 15. I hope that will help you.

@@janetmiles6402 happy quilting!
I have made 3 two queens and a practice small one
Awesome! 😁
This quilt block is also the steps in making a Bargello quilt.
Yes, the difference is the bargello strips change in width whereas the trip around the world strips are all in the same size.
I’m inspired to get back into quilting. I have beautiful fabrics I love but my mojo wasn’t there
Hi! Well my work here is done then 😁
Ward Ports
Is that a Quilt pattern?
You stroke your fabric for just one week? I have fabric I have been stroking for years. I just can’t cut into all my Tula Pink fabric.
I do! Because I algo grow very impatient to actually use it!! 😁

@@jacalynstaten5607 makes perfect sense 🙂
But if you cut into your stash, that’s not scraps!
I did end up going for my stash because I was really enjoying the oranges and yellows but I would say 90% of the strips were scraps
I don't do 1 inch squares
You can do this in any size you want.
Beautiful. On my to do list.
