I LOVE IT !!!! This is incredible !!! My husband laughs at me because when we go in the RV I bring bins of fabric, a small ironing board and a sewing machine or 2. lol and I end up bringing twice as much home . Thanks for taking us along on your trip.
I love all you make and I appreciate you sharing all the techniques and inspiration. THIS is what I’m making next! Thank you. Yes, I’m going to be that old lady in the eclectic clothes! (Im only 67)
I love that the two sides are so completely different. You would never guess they are one jacket. This is so cleaver and I love the lavender color and fabric you started with. One of your best.
You are speaking my language. Sashiko, slow stitching, fabric, creative projects, let the project tell me the direction, can’t sleep at night, sewing on vacation, etc -I thought I was the only one. Great jacket!
I love how much freedom you used to make this jacket! Id sit for 3 weeks just agonizing over which fabrics ro use. Then another 3 worrying that my stitching wasnt perfect. I am going to try something very similar to this and will allow myself the freedom to just enjoy the process. Thanks so much for this. I hope you enjoyed the time with your grandkids ♥️
Beautiful! And thanks for considering us and our need for a fix of weekly videos from you, even while you’re on vacation. I have a similar blue robe I want to try this on.
This is phenomenal! Who would've thought to use a thrifted robe? oh ya, you did, of course! this is my favorite item you have made to date. I really want to make one, and I just started slow stitching last winter. This would be the perfect project for this winter. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
So excited to have found you! I was just getting ready to donate a couple of robes and am so happy to see how you transformed yours. Beautiful! Now have a winter project to work on.
You can never have enough pockets so I add pockets to the other side too since you can wear on both sides. I love the placement of the flowers. I’m going to start one with the so many Christmas prints I’ve got. I was going to start a Challenge on Aprons for Christmas gift exchange with friends but I did not get many or any ok, to tell the truth, but that’s Ok. This was so wonderful to see I feel I got my Challenge. Thank you !
I HAVE NO WORDS FOR THIS INCREDIBLE STUNNING JACKET, But how can I leave a comment without words??? I think I have seen ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS and this project totally took my breath away!!!!!
Right when I think you've topped everything you go and make something even greater. That is an amazing jacket, I am feeling so inspired. Thank you Tracie.
I’m going to the thrift store. I have seen the quilted jackets everywhere but they didn’t inspire me. THIS is my kind of jacket! Thank you for your share and inspiration
You can even buy inexpensive ones and just over them up with your fabrics. I love the idea you already have your jacket and don’t have to use a pattern then cover with your favorite fabrics old or new. I’m going to hurry and make me a bedcover/quilt for my bed . Some small patches and some big I will be done in time to enjoy it on my bed during Christmas. Can’t go wrong!
Tyvm for sharing your private life, hubby, grand- lovely- sons and old Stuart! Myrtle beach it’s amazing, been there a couple of times and enjoyed very much! Loved the jacket! Absolutely fab! Crazy quilting it’s one of my favorite crafts, among many others…once and again, ty hun for being such an amazing teacher! Blessings from Chile 🇨🇱
Totally my jam! A grab and go Project when I’m on a break. I’ve come across many items that weren’t to my taste or in the fabric I want. This technique gives me options to ‘recover’ them and love it again. Thank you ❤
This is definitely a piece created with love!! I have a long, white, very soft cardigan sweater, from gap, that I like to use as a robe. I've been inspired by this project. Thank you for always sharing your gorgeous work and creativity!
This is probably my favorite of projects from you, simply gorgeous. I loved when you said, "I don't like that collar so I'm just going to cut it off". Paraphrasing, but that right there, the undaunted way you go about upcycling brings me joy. Thanks for sharing, and the road trip was added bonus!
Absolutely love your 'sanity' jacket!! We are alike in the way of needing my sewing stuff on vacations! This is one of my favorite jackets that you have created! LOVE, LOVE it SO much! I look forward to every Sunday to view your new creations!! Going now to cut out more fringe for your denim purse. Just had ankle surgery, but I can't NOT sew! Love you and your inspiration to sew the upcycled way!! ❤❤
You are truly one of a kind. I love everything you do. Thankyou for not making us go through withdrawal by continuing your videos. First thing I want to watch Sunday morning is you. ❤❤❣
Another beautiful creation. It's so much fun to see what you start with and what a different look when you finish. I'm not fond of the paint splotches that you did last. I can see, instead, some beadwork added around the patterns in the scraps you sewed on. Your dress is something else altogether. What a lovely life you have to be able to take stuff and make beauty out of it. Wish I were younger. Should have seen you when I was in my 40's but then again, I was not the person I am now. So am blessed to see you now.
Beautiful, I love it! You are so creative. I would have never thought to use an old robe. Your vision never ends. I have not done much hand sewing lately but think I need to start again.
Absolutely beautiful. I handstitch most of my upcycled as my machine is useless. lol It’s so relaxing to sit and sew. Going to try this style with my scraps. Thank you so much. Your Grandchildren are gorgeous and I love your Stewarts too xxx
You have a giant RV and go CAMPING!!! How could I possibly love you any more!!!! Great job...I love the jacket and I love to slow stitch. This was very inspiring!
I love it Tracy! So beautiful and cozy looking. The flowers add a lot to it.I feel inspired now to dig through my fabrics and vintage stuff to make somerhing similar.Thank you for your inspiration.I've been recovering from a broken leg and havnt been able to get upstairs to access my fabrics but I will be able to soon.❤
The jacket is gorgeous. I love that it’s made for feels and comfort first and glory second. “ mmm… don’t like the collar” half way through, out come the sharp shears! Perfect! The old quilt you found in Carolina would be called a Wagga in Australia. Made from fabric scraps, most often wool and lined with wool. They were made for utility, but some are beautiful in their plainness. Loved this video, thank you.🤩 😊😊 By the way, your grandchildren are delightful, but I still have a hard time thinking of you as a grandma!😂
Surprised and delighted as always - taking an unlikely looking chenille robe and using it as a canvas to turn it into a true work of art - and love the slow stitching. Your vision for every piece you create never fails to fascinate me - thanks for the road trip it was truly inspiring x
Love, Love this, l am a quilter, and you have inspired me to go down the slow stitch track. I admire your free spirited attitude, you are so creative! Keep up the lovely work Cheers, Lizzie from Oz.🦘
You are such an inspiration! I can’t wait to make a jacket like this too! As a beginner to sewing, it’s great to know things can be more organic and loosey goosey! Thank you for all your videos! Please keep creating! 🎉
How wonderful! To me, this is a lesson in composition, allowing yourself to engage in free-spiritedness, and to think outside the box -- along with a splash of magic. You have created a true work of art. I just love it! 💜💜💜
Aha. I see what's happening to my plush bathrobe when I'm done with it. Love your feminine colours, prints, scale & placement. TY for thinking of us and bringing us along in your sewing box.❤
When I use iron on interfacing, I use parchment paper. (You use the towel.) That way, there would be no fusing to the towel. I also use parchment paper when I use "heat 'n bond." Thank you for your creative inspiration!! Love your designs!
Oh my gosh! This jacket is absolutely stunning!! And made from an old robe!! How awesome is that??!! Your creativity is off the charts and I so love watching you create your amazing pieces. I get so inspired by you!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us and teaching us all your tips and tricks on making beautiful things!! You’re the best!!👏👏🤩🤩🩷🩷
Oh wow! You outdid yourself here! 😍 Firstly, the dress is gorgeous. 🤗 Secondly that jacket is the best thing you've ever made...and trust me it's not easy picking the best! 😍 Thirdly, holy hell woman, you on the beach looked like a Bond Babe coming out of the water! How are you so gorgeous in the Autumn of your life? You look better, sexier and more beautiful than babes in their 20's! Stunning figure! I bet your husband is well pleased with himself! 😜 I'm eyeing up my battered fluffy dressing gown now... it's definitely seen better days. I have a feeling it's gonna be celebrating a cosy revival pretty soon! 😁 Always a pleasure to watch you, you appear to have a lovely family, gorgeous home, and an all round enviable life! Plus look a million dollars yourself, you're so pretty. 😘 xxxxx
this is s pretty I love scrap patterns. I made a patch robe years ago, everyone laughed at it, but I had a heck of a time getting it from them in evening. They covered up on the sofa. Thanks for sharing . oh I started to laugh at the paint ,till I seen the jacket at last.love it
I can hardly believe you even bought that robe. Never would have occurred to me. then you both made it work into a great top, and brought yourself a road trip project. So cool Traci
I must have watched this at least 20 times already! You AMAZE me with how talented you are! I love the way you see things and turn them into gorgeous works of art! This came out gorgeous and it looks so comfy! And you always look so beautiful! Big hugs to you my friend 💕💕💕
This jacket is so beautiful and amazing that you hand stitched all of it. I also like to sew by hand as well as machine so I think this is awesome. Thanks for sharing your road trip project!! 💖 ~Sherry
A great project for your journey to see your beautiful grand babies - love both sides of your jacket - I have been downsizing and have moved all my sewing stuff into a much smaller room than my other large sewing room and can’t wait to begin creating again soon. Thank you for your inspirations and showing how wonderful and relaxing hand sewing is in our busy lives!
Magnificent 💙👏✨️ Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas 💙 Love it❤ it was brilliant to make reversible ..the hearts made a beautiful compliment. Gorgeous
Really Lovely . I like to sew, transform, embroider, boro sashiko too, create from old curtains, scraps of fabric, it's always a great pleasure. I only wear my own shirts. I love, you and I only wear unique and beautiful clothes. Many thanks for your videos!
I love this so much, I want to drag out all my scraps and get going on a project! What a wonderful way to spend the cold winter months ahead. My mind is whirling. I've always wanted to make something special with my daughter's sweet dresses from the past and I think you have given me the perfect idea. Thank you so much and God bless!
Hi Traci I just love this video! To be honest I didn't think I would like this, oh my goodness!!! I totally do! How beautiful it turned out! You did such an amazing job on all that stitching and all the patches are perfect!!!! Thank you for taking us with you and sharing your family and vacation. You are amazing! AGAIN!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love it. Both sides are beautiful and nice for a blond hair woman. Sashiko, something new and interesting for me. Thank you, Tracy. A great pleasure to see you again.
Wow! At first I was thinking "That's a great idea, but I'm not sure if I like the look". I'm SO glad I kept watching. After you added the flowers on top I was blown away at how adorable it turned out! Thanks for this! You've also inspired me to look at textiles in 2nd hand stores and even clothes for the prints that I can reuse instead of buying new fabric....although my stash is ridiculous already....I'll start there first...lol🤭
It turned out so cute!😊 All those stitches paid off. I recently threw away an old pink chenille robe.😢 I never throw anything away! The one time I do, see what happens!😱 I've learned my lesson!😂🤣
I enjoyed watching as you sewed this beautiful jacket and seeing the variety of pieces come together in such a lovely way! Thanks for sharing your creative process!
The flower side is sooo beautiful! I’ve been intimidated to do a big slow stitch project. This tutorial helped. Thank you! And thank you for sharing your vacay with us. I look forward to your videos every Sunday. ❤️❤️❤️x a mil. 🙂
It turned out fantastic, Traci! You are definitely a true artist who isn’t afraid of anything! Very inspiring and you give us all “permission to be creative! Really love the prairie dress too!
I LOVE IT !!!! This is incredible !!! My husband laughs at me because when we go in the RV I bring bins of fabric, a small ironing board and a sewing machine or 2. lol and I end up bringing twice as much home . Thanks for taking us along on your trip.

AGAIN!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate that so much, thank you 🤗💕💕💕💕💕
I love it. Both sides are beautiful and nice for a blond hair woman.
Sashiko, something new and interesting for me. Thank you, Tracy. A great pleasure to see you again.

I love big flowers on fabric and in the interior! You have created an amazing and unique thing, thank you for the inspiration.❤
Thank you so much!🤗❤❤❤❤
🥰💕💕💕💕
It turned out so cute!😊 All those stitches paid off. I recently threw away an old pink chenille robe.😢 I never throw anything away! The one time I do, see what happens!😱 I've learned my lesson!😂🤣
Lol things like that have happened to me, too🤗❤❤❤❤
Wow, what a beautiful jacket!!! I'm going to try something like this, you have inspired me and I thank you!!!
