I’ve never made a jelly roll race quilt, but I love using them to make fun, quick and interesting sashings, borders and bindings. Also, thanks for the sticky roller tip!
Great idea for a charity quilt that I will apply a jelly roll to. Can you tell me approximately the end size of the quilt top using one jelly roll? My quilt needs to be approximately 60x80 inches. Thanks so much for your easy and professional teaching method.
Same as you do for any quilt - just measure and add about 3 - 4" extra on all sides for the backing fabric and batting; pin or spray baste and then quilt.
Always nice to revisit the jellyroll race pattern. Thanks for the video 😊
Enjoyed video ❤
Thank you!!❤
I’ve made it at lest four and they are so much fun and fast.
I appliquéd black cats chasing butterflies on one.

This is more of a lap size quilt. You could add borders to make it bigger.
@@Chatterboxquilts Super! A scrappy border!
Beautiful! How do you add a backing?

@@Chatterboxquilts I don’t even understand this. Is there a video on this?
Good morning
When or how do you add batting?
This video shows how to make a quilt top using jelly roll strips. You would sandwich the top with batting and backing as with any quilt.
@ thank you! I’m a beginner at 51 yrs old. Old dog trying to learn new tricks!
What size quilt will one jelly roll make? How do I do one that say a queen size?
This makes about a twin size quilt. I've never tried making a queen size quilt but you could search online to see if there is information about that.
Why did you cut 18in off the first strip?
This is so the strips will be offset. If you don't cut some off the first strip, they will all line up together so not as effective.
Thank you. Not a fan of these. They are easy but for me it was boring. However, my sister loves them.
Yes, there is a lot of stitching on these but it's a great way to perfect your ¼" seam. 😉
I was told 12 inches cut off
Thanks!
