How dare the Reddit moderators go after after our precious baby angels
I love the stories that have drama not surrounding cheating
Lol I agree I'm so sick of hearing about cheating not necessarily from okop even just in general😂
Same here!
Ditto to you both!
Seriously!!
What, they can cancel them? You aren't ab extremist group. What were they displeased with in regards to not being moderated?
We threw a fit in the discord the first morning it got banned. Still sobbing
The discord got banned?
@@mrsmith5114Not the discord, the subreddit got banned for not having moderators.
Reddit tends to ban easily, deny your first request or three, but if you’re persistent eventually get your acct/sub back. FYI! (Edit/add, this is assuming minor/invalid reasons for the ban in the first place. Also applies to Reddit itself, mods have control over their individual subreddits)
This is so true. I got banned almost a year or so again for making a joke. I tried to explain it was an old saying but nope I got booted but I did curse them out before the banned took place. That felt good
@Tyraine67 I get it probably felt good but all it made the mods think was that they were correct in banning you. I watch a lot of unban request videos and every single time there's record of the person trying to negotiate but then devolving into swearing and names they get laughed at as a loser and permabanned
@@lilithium3940 I never would’ve responded that way until they kept getting out of pocket with me. I tried to have a civil conversation and explained what happened but the last straw was when they called me stupid. So I didn’t care about what anyone thought of me. I told them they were little kids hiding behind keyboards and would never be ready for the real world with that type of attitude. I said a few other things that I won’t repeat now.
My brother was adopted. We called him The Chosen One 😂 He'd have laughed being called a rescue....he was
I imagine "stranger" wouldn't have played as well, though...😂
@@davidharshman7645 🤣 he worked in Alaska for 9 months out of the year for 25 years...every single time he got off the boat, our dad would say "hey stranger looking for a dad?" which is hysterical considering my dad adopted him as a single American guy stationed in Korea when he was 9 months old & also top tier dad joke
Adopted sister spat on OP and their parents, never asked OP if she's okay when she lost her parents, then when OP is trynna cope with her loss, sis FINALLY appears with a sob story begging for money?? Aaaabsolutely NOT. She sees OP as an ATM, not a person, & definitely not a sister.
Agreed! She even took steps to get emancipated! Do you know how hard that is to do as a teen? Had a cousin go through the process and had even couch surfed her way through high school and college.
Wait what??? This is so unreal!! WhyTF would reddit do this???
Eh, the Reddit mods are on a power trip. I got multiple accounts banned literally minutes after creating them.
Europeans arent used to driving for an hour???? excuse me?? we drive so much, I drive 30 mins just to work everyday and its considered short
Yeah, but how do they consider guests driving 1 hour to the nearest hotel after a wedding (drinking) 😮
i once saw a british person post about how much they wish they could see their grandparents more but they lived too far. someone asked how far of a drive it is from their grandparents that they cant see them more often. british person said it was 45 minutes. i was baffled. 45 minutes is my drive to work everyday, thats nothing for distance
I live in Germany and several of my collegues have to drive 40-45 min to work everyday. I myself drive (on public transport) for 6 hours twice a month to visit my parents. I don't think Europeans don't drive a lot.
But the thing about walking and walkable cities is completely true. Walking here is amazing and we walk everywhere, where we can reach in 20-25 min by foot. Only for longer distance we use bikes or public transports (or cars).
@@essoundsofsilenceI think that Americans saying Europeans don't drive much are mostly thinking about people living in the British Isles, where a 4 hour drive is likely to involve a ferry ride...
We aren't compared to the US. To many in the US driving for an hour is around the corner. To us driving for more than an hour is traveling ... 😂
The genre is GRWM - Get ready with me
As someone who has an adopted Uncle, he was always family. Even when he eventually reached out to his birth mother, he always considered my grandparents as his parents. He grew up and adopted a little girl. And she grew up to adopt a little boy. Adoption is a gift that keeps on giving. Family isn't always blood. Sometimes you pick them and you love them. And if someone cannot accept that gift, then that's on them. It's their loss.
Riley; it’s called a Get Ready With Me.
lol when my now 20 yo son was like 5-6, he got mad at me because I didn’t name him Wolverine. 😂 I told him when he was an adult he could change it. Then when I got pregnant with his little brother I told him I was going to name him Wolverine. 😂😂😂 he got so mad.
The claim it's hard to get fruits and veggies in Italy or France is ridiculous 😂
Exactly! I go down my street and there’s like three four stalls where people are selling them! (From Italy)
I live in Spain and have been to France and Italy and many other European countries and there are vegetables and fruits🤷♀️ even many vegan restaurants and places that offer more than just pasta and potatoes. I don’t get what she means😅
And you can just order a salad. Even in take out most of the time.
I'm Mexican but I remember the time I was traveling around Europe I found fresh produce to be even easier to find than in my own country (we have a big culture around homemade food so we use lots of fresh ingredients)
Sofia never saw a Lidl, or Aldi apparently 😂
I was thinking the same, or even a farmers market? We have so many fresh fruits and veggies... and restaurants have veggie plant-based stuff as well. Not as many vegan / vegetarian options in some places though, depends where you travel
@@NeonSake13 guess she only stayed at hotels and only near them
Would you guys consider making some "feel good" episodes? Like stories with good endings, pro revenge stories, justified pettiness? 💛
I love love love this channel and community, I watch all of the videos and streams, but sometimes the negative stories feel overwhelming 😞
They're picked out to evoke emotion, thats how you get controversy and thats how you get views and comments. I dont see them as negative, I see it as interesting tea lol but I can see why some may not feel that way. Its worth a shot but it probably won't generate as much for them
@@Jasthebas oh I totally get it, I've been a subscriber for over two years now and very glad to see the team really take off this year :) In no way I would want to undermine their approach or want their videos to drastically change, I am already very grateful the team picks out stories that have updates. It's just a general feeling I got after all this time of not missing any videos. Revenge and petty stories seem to be quite popular nowadays though, I thought it's not a bad thing to wish for 💛
you'd love Charlotte Dobre's channel, she's all about the petty revenge
@@LadyChaos1992 she's cool, yeah! Rslash also covers revenge stories from time to time. I still enjoy listening to the OK Storytime more though haha
Their loss. Go ahead.

Regarding the Final Story: From an early age, I was very picky about being called my full first name. I was always David. Never Dave. Never Davy. Having 4 Davids in my school class of 80-90 students made me more adamant aboutbit rather than less.
(I never got why anyone would want to shorten David anyway. It is already 5 letters, 2 syllables. Very short; very easy to say and spell.)
The only time I ever felt bad about being picky was around Kindergarten age when my maternal grandmother called me DJ. At the time, my only cultural touchstone for that nickname was Full House, so I thoughtlessly told her, "but DJ is a girl's name." I don't know that I ever saw her so hurt. She was trying to give me a personalized nickname out of love, and I kinda just threw it back in her teeth. I immediately tried taking it back, but she never called me anything but David again.
Years later, I tried talking to her about it, and I found that she didn't even remember the exchange. For me, it was an important lesson in thinking about other's feelings before I speak, though.
“She’s older.” That’s a shot straight to my 40 year old heart.
Karen’s and Ken’s united against us… this means WAR!
I actually know a couple who’s names are Karen and Ken. 😂 They are nice people, though.
Sam looks suddenly older than normal. Older than John
42:29 it’s called “the crazy store-bought pesto stories”, Riley.
Id cancel house and not be involved in that wedding. Done
The genre is called a get ready with me 7:50
The way that I’m going to have to keep myself from reading the subreddit so I can listen to you guys read to me at work 🤣😅
It honestly doesn't even matter how much the stepdad did for OP or how much he tried to make the relationship into something different.
Relationships are about consent. She doesn't consent to a close relationship with him. He has no entitlement to that. Even if it was her biological father, it is her wedding and her experience. No one is entitled to a particular role in someone else's life or wedding.
thank you for explaining bc I was wondering !! been missing the lives
You mean a TikTok 'Get ready with me' storytime?
Those videos are called “Get ready with me”
Yep, I've always known them as "Get ready with me" 😁🥰
No veggies in Europe🤣🤣! Even Macdonald's in Portugal has vegetable soups and salads let alone other restaurants
We should call them

Makeup story time riley! it’s an ok story time but with makeup
I'll repost my story on there and the update will be soon!
The story about the wedding & the incoming in law calling her kids “strangers” & “rescues” I literally saw this plot on a Korean soap drama I watched yesterday.
The main characters had an adopted child and the in laws called the child a “stray” and “stranger” & always asked why the wife put this non blood family member before the real family when she’s especially an in law not blood either,
Names: I worked with a co-worker named Predeep, in an facility helping adults with developmental disabilities. To say his name properly you need to curl your tongue back and touch the roof of you mouth on the R sound. No one else but me was able to get this, but they all did their best with a more standard English R sound. We had volunteer 'grandparents' who came in for a few hours every day to socialize with the clients. They were sweet and mostly in their 70s. They really could not handle even an anglicized version of Predeep, and ended up calling him Deep-deep. Fortunately Predeep was a super chill guy and found their name for him amusing.
In 11th grade I ate lunch with the same guy every day. At the end of the year I realized that I had no idea what his name was, and was to embarrassed to ask. To this day O have no idea what his name was.
My oldest we named Brenna. They were called Brenda constantly growing up, which drove them bonkers. They just go by Brenn now, and loosing the A seems to have fixed the issue.
I just found your podcast on Spotify great job guys keep up the good work
never clicked a video so fast !!! love you guys :)
What on earth is the brothers role in this. Like how do you sit there and not step in and stop the BS of his future wife.
That's my thought! His wife is uninviting HIS grandparents and he's okay with that?
His wife felt safe calling his niece and nephew strangers / recuses - makes me think she’s done it before and not been reprimanded.
For the OP with the name issue. My name is Jaime, pronounced Jay-Me. I've been called: Hi-Me, Hi-May, Yeh-Me, Yi-May more times than Jay-Me and assumed I was a male. So, now ALL of my email signatures have a parenthesis (Jay-Me) under my name. Same for.my.last because my married name is a nightmare, haha. If you can add a voice pronunciation- add it! I know it won't help in every situation, but it will in college and in employment/business/etc. I also added "Mrs. Jaime XYZ". I hope this helps OP and anyone else who struggles like us.
Makeup confessionals
Jesus where were you in Europe???? Like EVERYWHERE you can get fresh vegetables EVEN IN THE WINTER! Did you only go to tourist cities? I’m so confused, I usually hear people praise the amount of veg and fruit we have. I’m from italy and my partner from Bulgaria and it’s definitely true for both our countries.
This. There are salads in every restaurant. Couldn't get vegetables in Italy?? They have the best vegetables!! That's on you.
In a recent life I made a donation and asked Sam a question and he completely butchered my name. At first I felt weird about it now is funny 😁😁😁
"A wet leaf... not even crunchy" 😂
Can we get an official abbreviation for “OK Storytime”? Like OKS or OKST ? 😂 “OKOP” was just so easy to type before 😂 loving the rebrand! I just also love me some nice quick abbreviations 😂

It's literally dehumanizing the kids to call them rescues, as though they're animals.
Off topic, but I love your whole music setup back there. Piano and Fleetwood Mac is straight joy ✨️
Also I see Abby Road! And is that Stevie Wonder??? I can't tell the fourth one.
About the second story:
My dad is not my biological father, in fact he still alive but gladly in another Continent. I think it depends on the relationship she had with her father, if they were close I kinda understand. But for me, I think its about actions. My biological father weren’t there on any special day, never cared when I was sick or if I was going to school with damaged clothes because we couldn’t afford new ones. He only started to being there when my mom had cancer and when she was cured, he banished again.
While on the other hand, my dad was there for me since I was 7. He taught me values, he was there whenever I needed it and he still there for me everyday. Mom always says that she married him because he loved me and my sister before he loved her.
I would never do that to him.
Oh no I’m so sorry you got banned but yay for getting starting a new sub Reddit ❤.
I think the food issue in Europe is because we don't have an eating out culture in most countries. Going to a restaurant is a special occasion, people cook at home with vegatables most of the time.
32:20 I live in Mexico City and need to drive/ride public transportation for at least an hour just to go anywhere within the city.
Edit about the food: When I was in Europe I found fruits and vegetables anywhere in stalls in the street, for what I felt was a really good price, and the food everywhere was delicious and nutritious. Idk if I was lucky but I can't relate to Sofia's experience. But yeah, I also wouldn't trade my country's cuisine for European gastronomy.
For me, it's just the spelling of my name that gives issues. It's to a point that I don't even correct people anymore on how to spell my name (unless it's on legal or important papers that requires my real name). I don't think 'Jennyfer' with a 'Y' is all that rare but most people write it as 'Jennifer'. It used to bother me, but I've learned to not care for it, it's less frustrating, and as long as it's said how it's supposed to, I don't think it's that big of deal if it's spelled wrong.
I'm a rescue, and proud of it
@Riley 7:45 maybe something like “The TikTok Stratagem” with an echoing voice effect ? 😂
From Wikipedia (for “Stratagem”) -
The first classifies the phrase purely as an act of military deception against one's opponent; the second emphasizes acts against one's opponent by creative, clever, unorthodox means, sometimes involving force multipliers or superior knowledge.[1] The term stratagem, from Ancient Greek strategema (στρατήγημα, 'act of generalship'), is also used in this sense.
Manipulation of the sister... bump that, she dissed and dismissed your family, pull an Elsa on her and" Let it Go" no guilt. She emancipated... bye girl!!
Joined and submitted a story lol never submitted anything before but figured this would be the community to do so.
We do drive more than an hour for stuff here 😂 I know people that drive over an hour to and from work.
And people eat vegetables tons, where were you going, tourist traps? 😂
Yo the reddit moderators have been really unfair. They said me saying YTA on an YTA post was "bullying" And "Two Hot Takes" backed that decision up so just avoid them too
You talked about names, try having a name you're ok with and then one day it becomes a vulgar word. 😂 that's a blast.
For the first story, there's another update. They got married, OP and her kids were invited. Everyone was cordial. Until the next morning when SIL said she and OP's brother were upset she didn't gift them the amount she would have paid for the destination wedding. So she felt out her brother and found out he was surprised and appreciative that she had gotten them the gift that she did. She boiled over:
"First of all, I told my brother. He apologised and told me to ignore it, I told him I would not be doing that. He said "well, I can't stop you" and said he'd never take away my spot in my niblings life.
So, I screengrabbed everything and and took it to social media. I tagged her, my brother, our parents, her siblings and parents and went on this incredibly passive agressive, childish rant on how I wanted to "avoid misunderstandings within my social and family circle" and how "sorry" I was my efforts weren't to the brides liking.
My post went up about 3 hours ago and the only message i've opened so far is my brothers, stating (roughly translated) "woke up and chose violence huh". He doesn't seem to care."
Lol, her brother's response😂.
She is now NC with SIL.
Oh man I felt that Sophia, so much. Common named kid here and there were always two or three other girls with my name my mom spent so much time finding for her dream daughter by the time she had me. No one ever spells it right and numerous Royals have had variations to rub salt in the wound. She told me it was German spelling so when we had a German author come to school as a kid I was so excited to maybe have someone spell my name right and then she got it wrong too, still have her book on my shelf as a reminder of the let down. We have employee of the month at work and they got my partner’s name wrong, so stupid they just had to copy and paste the last name it’s a model of a car apparently according to my dad, and I can just imagine they will get mine wrong too if I ever get it… just letting you know, I never got to keep my name either and my partner named a henchman in a video game after me the other day and it made me warm and fuzzy that at least they got it spelled right and totally made my person a tiny killing machine. ❤😂
I love how ppl are unset that she owns 2 homes.
Wait till they here that a lot of ppl have more than 3 houses... they will lose their minds
As a European from Hungary.... What the f. are you talking about with the vegetables.... I think you visited the shitty touristy places... 😅😅😅😅
When someone mispronounces my name like, “Riveera,” or, “Riveara,” It’s like nails on a chalkboard.
I have a very common name for my generation. There are soooooo many of us around the same age. In school, there were 8 of us in the same class, 4 of which (in which I am included) have the same middle name, and another one it was only one letter off. To add insult to injury, there was one girl in my class that had the same first name, middle name and one of the same surnames as me! That was why I was for years known by my mother's surname (in my country we recieve at least one surname from each parent), so now people that knew me in school get really surprised when my name is listed somewhere and I show up!
The genre of videos you're talking about is called "grwm" (get ready with me) I think 😅😂
For the last story, I had a very similar problem. I was born with a Hawaiian name, which made everyone in the midwest where I grew up think it was super "exotic". And since it was "exotic", they assumed it had some sort of weird pronunciation (it was pronounced how it was spelled, but they went out of their way to pronounce it "uniquely" instead). When I was 17 I legally changed my name because I just couldn't take it anymore. 17 years of no one pronouncing my name correctly drove me mad. It wasn't even a hard name to pronounce! I'm still proud of my birth name, but I know better than to use it legally, because I am surrounded by idiots who find it too exotic to pronounce correctly. They always need to somehow outdo each other in pronunciation.
Uhh, so if I was marrying someone and they called my adopted nephews/nieces rescues, then that is breakup material.
First story she said her friend is living there until he gets on his feet. And he’s been there for eight months.
The first story-withdraw the offer to use the home as the wedding venue and the 10,000 to help pay for the wedding.

I'm hard pressed that Ella's telling the truth about her boyfriend. Seems AWFULLY convenient that she shows up asks about the sale of the house & when OP denies her she puts on the crocodile tears. If she's no longer speaking to her bio family how'd she find out about OP selling the house? Guaranteed if OP fell for it she would've taken the money & ran into the wind.
Awe man! I was enjoying it

Idk what part of Europe OP is from, but I heard Scandinavian people commonly rent entire houses for weddings, that way the family can get wasted all night long lol. Idk why everyone on Reddit is questioning OP so much for potentially hosting that kind of wedding.
