First song is "Save me" by Avenged Sevenfold. One of their best, if not the best track in my opinion. It it has the coolest guitar riffs and drum parts played by Portnoy.
There is an amazing video by him where he does 4 different time signatures on each one of his limbs, it is utterly brain melting! And then there is all his one handed stuff which is just next level! Dude absolutely deserves the love he has been getting of late!
to me its so cool to see so many people being shown estepario siberiano. i found him when he had 50k subs and it absolutely blew my mind how good he is. ive played drums for 6 years and this dude is proof aliens exist lol. absolute powerhouse of a drummer and i could watch him shred a kit all day of the week and never have a smile leave my face lol

I'd say Thriller definitely had some compression on it - if not that effect that squashes the backing tracks when the bass drum transient occurs (I'm not a fan).
Not so “musical. “ He drums like it’s an athletic event .. that works for some types of music .. amazing speed and agility., but I doubt , for instance, he’ll get the steely Dan tour drum chair anytime soon .. maybe he can do that too , idk .. I’m not trying to be an asshole , just saying , not a lot of “ feeling” … idk … anyone else feel that?
To be fair, none of Steely Dan's drummers are going to get the Fleshgod Apocalypse gig either (or whatever blast-metal band you want to use as an example). He has videos doing slower stuff and even doing covers that are very close to the original takes. I'm not sure if "feel" is the right word though, but maybe it is? For me personally, I lose a lot of the feel or groove or whatever whenever the bass drum is triggered. While its necessary in a lot of applications, it kills the flow of a slower paced or less busy song. I think Estapario's mix could be tweaked to improve the feel for the slower stuff. I dunno, I can't play any of Estapario's stuff or much of Steely Dan's stuff LOL.

petemichalski, trickery is called WORK! You have to have an amazing talent and then sit your ass on that stool for 8 hours a day practicing something over and over and over and over, get it, got it!
sorry but that MJ groove lacked pretty much on all fronts. No real groove. Too over complicated. This is while technically one of the best, isn’t necessarily the best for that song. Sugar foot would have killed that. IMO.
