I've had one of these since 2007 and I don't think I would want to get rid of it, maybe ever. I've seen in forums that not too many people like the Lead channel, but I do. That Vintage mode is nice for rhythm, and High-Gain mode is where I go for soloing. Nice sturdy little guy, and quite loud too!
Good old Peavey....very first proper amp for me was the Stereo Chorus; weighed a ton and was so loud it could kill rodents at 20 feet. I'm used to a tube amp as well but IMO Peavey make the best transistor ones. Envoy110, smart as a dart and you wont break your back getting it in the car.
The clean channel on these is really good. Really nice tones. I had a silver stripe and a red stripe, the red stripe sounds better in my opinion. The reverb isn't working on mine, I'd like to fix it.
Sounds great. The reverberations, wow. I'm most surprised that amp is keeping up with the band. That's rad. I see these around from time to time. Very nice.
Just a question to clear up something for me: the model you have is the red-striped which has the peavey logo and transtube in the front. Could it be purely cosmetic that one manufactured in China (which later the red line were?) does not have the front with the logo and series? Does it say made in china on the back above your speakers? Just asking as I am looking to buy one used but comparing.
How’s the amp for pedal platform ? Wanted something small that’s very clean but could take pedals didn’t know of the small frame and speaker held it back much ?
I think this amp works best as a pedal platform. if you get the chance to get one for a good price you should jump on it. I like it on the clean channel with any overdrive/fuzz
Hi. According to the schematic the tank part number is 71011114 which equates to the accutronics number 4EB2C1B, which is a long, 2 spring, medium decay tank. You can use a long or short tank, 2 or 3 springs, medium or long delay. I've used a 8EB3C1B, but it's pretty over the top, long trail. A 3 spring medium decay might be more sensible.... www.hotroxuk.com/mod-8eb2c1b-reverb-tank-rohs-compliant.html

Yeah, I'm really liking this. Really really nice sound, and exactly what I was after - a nice sounding transistor amp with no modeling, DSP etc. 👍

Its nearly always the tray. The stock ones aren't great to start with, so it's definitely worth fitting a new one
@@chimpsticks1 Ok thanks I'll look into that.

You should grab one if you see one (red stripe) cheap...I'm really impressed with this!
What is the meaning of the colour
Red green silver stripe?
@@dimitris70 just different versions at different times. The red stripe seems to be a good model 👍

Hey Ian. Any idea which model MOD tank you've put in? Need to replace mine

@@chimpsticks1 cool thanks for this. The verb is sounding particularly lush there!
How much would this be worth now if used but still seem really new?
I didn't pay much for mine(£75), but it's my favourite amp now so I'd happily pay more for one.
