    Well, this one is a 40watts amp, as you may know. So since it has an open back, you can get a very good volume in a closed room by just setting the Post-Gain knob to one point (I barely play louder than that). But just to make you know, I once tested it at "full gain" outside my house. That little bastard was loud enough to be heard on the whole street (and I really mean from corner to corner). That's why I love it :}

    Came here as I am looking for a new amp in this price range, and my local music shop carries this model. Probably the best demo of a Peavey amp that I've ever heard, in terms of showing the range of sounds it can produce. Some tasty licks in there as well. Well done.

      Why the fuck dont you just play it at your local store then. lmao

    I'm looking at this amp....used at my Guitar Center. Your demo was great....showed the EQ and all different modes of clean and overdrive. Even if this is years old, thanks for posting. Now I have a good idea before I travel to GC to check it out.

    I have this amp, and I love it. It's a valuable one, because most of modern amps are just digital modeling stuff with no flavor, or classy tube-amplifiers as expensive as an Apple product... (That's waaaay too much)
    Nice playing, by the way.

    • @joeambly6807
      @joeambly6807 6 лет назад

      Modern boutique tube amps are expensive for a reason. Apple is expensive because of hipsters. Big fucking difference

    @mickthomsonify It uses transtube technology, the louder you have it set, the more ballsy it sounds. ALWAYS have the boost on full! The settings I use are pre-gain - 8, Lows - 7, Mids - 7, Highs - 9, Post gain - 2 1/2

    @mati321sz Yes, the footswitch is for channel selector and volume boost.

  • @Rikharthu
    @Rikharthu 15 лет назад

    No...the pre-gain sets the volume level going into the transistors, which controls the distortion. The post-gain just adjusts the volume after the distortion stage.

    Hello, I'm torn between Peavey Envoy 110 and the Marshall MG30. I could get them for about the same price second hand. What do yall prefer more? Peavey or marshall?

  • @EnsiGeetard
    @EnsiGeetard  14 лет назад

    They are strings with an incredibly high gauge.
    I wouldn't use the strings for anything higher than C standard.
    It all depends on your tuning, but these strings are massive.

  • @EnsiGeetard
    @EnsiGeetard  14 лет назад

    C standard is a guitar tuning. A very low one.
    If you want thicker strings, I suggest you can try a 11-50 set.

  • @EnsiGeetard

    No feel? Not this shit again... Go watch my knocking on heavens door solo video, there's the feel. I'm a metal guitar player, I usually don't have much "feel" in my playing since it's not needed.
    And I think I did a pretty good job playing with the knobs. Unless you want to have them set retardedly.
    Also this video is 3 years old. But thanks for the comment! Finally someone who actually says WHY they left a thumbs down.

    you could choose DR black beauties they're 10-52 or alexi laiho's go to 10-56 yet again it all depends on wat tuning u play in folks. just pick the right strings that dnt break easy.Also u could go titanium so that they'll never break ;D
