      I had the privilege of getting to play thru a red stripe bandit last year at Easter and by may I was having my hernia fixed ...... Great amp but heavy weight-wise !!!!! ..... OK if you've got road crew I guess. It was as heavy as the Mesa Mark 1 Boogies that I used to use live. I would have like a pair for live instead of the Mesas ... a lot less maintenance tube wise for sure.

I bought my first after watching your first Bandit video, it must have been over a decade ago now! Still incredible amps, and still hold their own to my boutique amps (I have two Carr amps and a Morgan, and have had several others!). wow,,,,i had to stop around the 2 minute mark....
    around 20 years ago, i bought one of these for $150. Became my main amp for band practice in '05 with a Zoom 1010 until i bought a first gen Cyber Twin. Still used it alot at home jamming with my stereo.
    I used to call it Tommy Crain since i could nail his tone on The CDB's Funky Junkie using my Epi LP Std +. Sounded great.
    Had to move to an apt and 3 amps had to go due to space (still have the CT and more),,,,i don't even want to say what i got.
    It was a good amp and with regret around me, i'm glad to see one getting props like this.
    Nice work.

Best part is, it costed me 20 euros! Even the remote switch I’ve bought for it NOS was more expensive than that! Serves as a great side amp to spare me the hassle of carrying around my 80’s, US-made Peavey Classic Chorus 212. Still got my trusty bandit which is the gen before that one, with trans valve but push button voicing selection. Still love but it’s retired now, replaced by a much lighter fender mustang digital.

    Hi all, nice review. I have studio pro red stripe, I was considering to buy a Bandit, however the weight of the bandit makes me think twice if buying or staying with mi studio pro (which could be more convenient for my use..) do you think bandit sound much better? After all these years which one do you use more?? Regards

    • @intheblues
      @intheblues  4 месяца назад

      The bandit is louder and larger sounding. Most of the sound comes from the bandit having a better speaker. You can change the speaker in the studio pro 112 to something like an Eminence Swamp Thang or Texas Heat and it'll be a huge upgrade over the stock speaker.

    All of these were, ( & still are) great amps! The only thing that often let them down were those speakers! I had 1 with a Blue 'Marvel' speaker & it would turn to shite in 10 mins! (Sounded GREAT thru a better external speaker! A Lorantz! )

    The original U.S.A. Peavey's were incredibly under rated. The one amp I got rid of and regretted it.

    I cdve got a Triumph (6L6) but bought the Renown (SS) instead...
    Mate said its Peaveys take on the Roland JC 120!!!
    Nowhere near, but if l put a valve pedal in front (Blackstar Dual) it warms it up nicely... but hooking it up to a 4x12 EV ext, better again.
    The Studio Pro & Bandit were both better, the Blue Marvels are better than the Black Scorpions.
    Ive still got the Renown but shdve got the Triumph or similar.

    I accidentally went too far back and got a silver face 108 the gain stage was way too scooped, but the clean was nice. Maybe I need to look into a newer generation?

    Alright. I'll get one as soon as I get rid of something to make room. Nice vid Shane. I always can tell from your vids if something would be a good fit for me or not. I think for the price and features that you get almost anyone could use one of these. Also Shane you don't find one part of a rig you don't like and then throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak. Some guys do that and I don't get much from those vids. This peavey isn't a dumble but it's a great amp u can bring with you and not bust ur hump. Unless ur into that....... Rock on! Bye for now

    Give me a "Solo Series" Peavey amp over the "transtube series" any day of the week. I've had my Bandit 65 since I bought it new in 1983 and have used it as a back up amp in emergency situations. When the "Transtube" amps came out and everyone went on about how much better they were I was stoked and played one. I was very disappointed in it. But I'm very happy with my 65, just wish it had an effects loop, so I am on the look out for a Bandit 75 Solo series {that does}.

    Ive got the silver stripe and a 150w fender, but Im such a noob. Trying to find a 'how to' connect a combo amp plugged into a passive external speaker. RUclips doesn’t have one.

    I know I should pay attention to the amp, but I always end up drooling over Shane's lefty guitar collection. Whose got the better lefty collection, Shane or Conor of Southie Shack Guitars?

      @@giuseppezambotti8576 can confirm, these sound just like Shane is making them sound in this video, live. One of my best tones with my band (5 piece southern rock and grunge) was my Bandit with an Eminence Red White and Blues speaker

    Pretty sure you were partly why I got a red stripe bandit. If anyone reads this, a speaker swap is the number one best thing you can do for a bandit or studio pro as the stock speakers hold back their full potential. Shane here likes the Texas Heat, if you prefer a British flavoured speaker like me, the best alternative to the heat is the Celestion Redback. Same power rating, warming up of the highs, and dynamic improvement, but the midrange only a Celestion can have.

    • @robbie12207
      @robbie12207 17 дней назад

      Hi. I have a recently acquired studio pro. Did the celestion make the amp louder or just sound better? Reason why I ask is most of my at home volume is at #1 max. Cheers
