I'm a pro working guitarist and I bought one last year due to it's ultra light weight .So far I've done 140 gigs this year with it and it hasn't let me down. I put it through our P.A and it sounds great, I changed the speaker to a celestion but that was just me wanting a tougher speaker.I'd never used a solid state amp live before but this amp just has a great sound. I honestly can't find a problem with it.
Wow!!! That sounds amazing! Great job! I'm definitely gonna pick one of these up if I ever come across the right deal. I have the bigger brother.. the grey Bandit.
Oh man, dude that sounds absolutely stellar. Real warm professional tone. I am getting one of these soon and I can't wait. Been through alot of amps but I reckon this one will be a keeper for me.
I rescued one of these from the trash and it is AWESOME! Low impedance input is amazing for keyboards and it makes me want to learn guitar this is a KICK ASS little amp! Perfect for keyboard or guitar it is amazing and you can connect a phone into the low impedance jack and it'll be a very nice bluetooth speaker too it is just so awesome!!
I also bought an old Roland multi effects pedal intended for guitar but works amazing paired with my old as hell Casio 101 keyboard and this amp crazy sounds and it's fun!
i’ve used this amp for years and not a problem with it! i play clean tones mainly and that low gain vintage setting with some reverb sounds absolutely beautiful!! can’t recommend it enough
@@atlejohnnyrygg7124 I honestly love it. It sounds really good. Honestly at low volumes it beats the Marshall. Maybe not at high volumes but I just love it. Best 12" amp I've ever had. Better than peace red stripe. You set it at .5 watts and you can play as it was in normal volume. I have Seymor Duncan distortion pick ups. Great sound.
@@davesaenz3732 thanks for thevreply. The Envoy is 1x10", noy 12" or do you mean the marshall? I have a Blackstar 1x12" tube combo and am looking at a red stripe made in china envoy somebody is selling dirt cheap.
@@celestelongway7315 didn't like the Envoy. Sounded fizzy and harsh. Has a real spring reverb, but didn't sound good imo. The digital reverb in my Blackstar sounds better. I had it in my closet for a while and tried replacing the speaker, but ended up selling it. I now have a Fender Mustang III I picked up for cheap second hand and it is so much better than the Peavey in every way.
Hi, Could you help me with lead lessons. Loved every bit you played. I know it's an amp review video but I want to learn he techniques that you are playing in the video. Especially the clean tone techniques. Would be great if you could help me out.
I know this video is older but, what kind of results could I expect by running a delay pedal through the input? If only Peavey had included a loop on this app!
I've got the same amp, very happy with it. Hey do you have any tabs for what you're playing? Or a video? I like this blues/funky jammy thing, Is it G, then F? Cheers
now that's a nice review.. dude you're an amazing guitar player! do you recommend this amp for a second amp? i have a shitty washburn 15 watt amp that i wanna sell to get a new one, so i was thinking of getting this one
Thanks man!! I definitely recommend it. Super portable, pretty loud (but you'd need a mic if you're playing a gig with a band), and super great sound. You might find that it will replace your Washburn if you bought one:)
It does handle pretty well at a small club volume, and beyond that you can always put a mic in front of it! Of course it doesn't get MORE powerful under stress the way a real tube amp would, but has a great sound to start with, which is all you need!
Bokara Noumen The answer is "it depends." Who else is on stage with you, and what are they playing? Pub-volume gigs with a small kit drummer? Sure. All-out hard rock with bass, full-sized "rock volume" drums, and other instruments, probably not.
Nope, just straight in. There's reverb on board which I used, as well as a boost knob, which I used a little bit as well - just fattens the sound up a little.
The latest models have a digital reverb, so a really good amp tech might be able to fix it. If you have one of the older models with an actual reverb tank, they are a lot more user serviceable.
For practicing, maybe - depended on how loud the band was. Also, if you're using the lead channel, it's harder to cut through without a mic. On the clean channel, you could probably pull it off as long as the drummer's not super loud. Otherwise I would look for a way to use a mic. I currently gig and rehearse with a 4W Alamo 1x10 tube amp, and I have to mic it much of the time, and it works just fine.
Ok, thanks for the answer, I'm looking for an amp for practicing with the band, so I need a loud one, the drummer, the trumpets and the saxs could get really loud so I think I need like a bandit 112 or something like that
Yes. Or, for a little more, a good all around amp would be a Vox AC15 or Fender Hot Rod Deluxe - both affordable on Craigslist, both portable, and both loud enough for anything you'd need them for. Good luck!
I'm using a custom made solid body guitar with Seymour Duncan pickups - JB bridge, Cool Rails in the middle, and '59 in the neck. This amp would sound sweet with a strat through it I'm sure!
hi!. i just bought this amp.ANd I have a question, I noticed the back (the little silver box and the preamp) get too warm BUT not hot, to touch,... this is normal?
if you're referring to the transformer, probably, as long as you don't burn your hand when you touch it. If that happens it may damage the amp or cause a fire ( BAD !! )
I'm thinking about buying one of these and using it through an A-B switch to combo with a 20 watt Windsor tube amp so I can switch between the 2 or go with both at once ( amps separated by 15-25 feet ) Any ideas about how well this would work ?
No better way than to try it out. I can't think of any problems with it though! I don't know the Windsor very well, but I'm guessing the Peavey would have a hard time competing with it's volume if you're planning on cranking it. If you mic both though, and get the levels balanced, you'll have a huge range of tones between the two amps. I would just try it and see which one you like more. The Peavey will have the advantage of sounding rich at softer volumes - without everyone asking you to turn down. The Windsor probably won't have as big a range of tones, but can get much louder. So no matter how well the two compliment each other, the Envoy is an awesome price for how handy it is to have. Good luck!
Wet-dry set-up. All your dry signal in one amp and wet signal on the other amp.... when you connect it into the PA system you pan it left and right... that would make your sound really wide.
It is a custom made Wade Hezeltine guitar, a luthier who currently lives in Idaho. Basically a solid body with a bolt on neck, ebony fretboard, and a Seymour Duncan JB (bridge), Cool Rails (middle), and '59 (neck).
Can i play in bedroom volume with it ? I need heavy distortion in low volume....i think setting pre gain in 6 or 7 and post gain in 1 or 2...its will work?
I think so! You'd need a mic cause honestly the amp doesn't get loud enough to play metal along with a drummer, but the tone is awesome enough for it I think. Then again I'm not a metal expert by any means. :)

Nice licks dude
Really great review mate, your a good player too.

40 watts and 10 inch speaker is perfect
what are you playing at 1:28 its awesome?

No it does not. You have to move up to the Bandit model to get an effects loop.

Someone can tell me the music he plays when he changes to the bridge pickup ? I think I know, but cant remember. Memory lapse. Thanks. Nice review btw
