Interesting comparison. I have a Blues Jr NOS and when my son moved away he left his Envoy 110. I reckoned it was a cheap little amp to leave at the cottage. So I found myself really looking forward to weekend sessions with that amp. It has a lot of character and tonal options. I don't drive it hard or use pedals (besides a looper) because this thing really packs a wallop.
I have these two amps. The Fender sounds like a Fender and is loud as all get-out for 15 watts. The Peavey 110 isn't as loud but it does stay tight even way up and stays pretty clean. Its midrange tone reminds me of a Vox. The Fender has a 12" speaker, the Envoy has a 10'". I like them both. The Fender is repairable and the Peavey not-so-much.
@@chimpsticks1If anything, the envoy may outlast the bj, depending on whether the owner wants to throw money at the bj...the bj has potential to be really great though if you are willing to throw money at it
Blues Jr. sounds leagues better. Funny because i just traded my Blues jr for a Peavey Bandit, and am kicking myself for not having a valve amp to play on.
Pretty simple choice for me, if you're gigging, use the Peavey,, if you're home recording, probably the Fender, but that's a tossup. If you're playing shows you want reliable gear, if you hit a good bump or even have a valve go out during play, you've hurt part of your performance, The fender you can treat a little better at home and be able to do retakes to get the sound you wanted. Gear can get beatup or stolen. The Envoys, half the price? That joyo might give the Peavey a bit of Fender edge in your setup. That's what I'm thinking anyway, Rock on Ed.
Not a fair comparison. Very different amps specs. As it should be the fender sound much better warm and organic cause of the valves. The peavey is ok for the price.
I have a blue stripe Envoy(35watts) the speaker sucks and I'm thinking of replacing it with a Peavey bass speaker the one's online new.Would it be too much to push.ithink they are 200 watts, and would it work with say an mxr classic overdrive and mxr classic distortion in front of it?
How many watts is the Envoy? I see them used on Guitar Center's web site and I notice they are cheaper than the Bandits but have similar features. I like both amps. The Blues Jr. and the Envoy. Ooops .. should have waited til the end to ask questions. lol
I have both and will take the Envoy all day long.

Great comparison! I have a Bandit and an Envoy and love them both.

The fender will likely need repairing, Peavey will not-so-much🤣

When the lights go down in the city I prefer the Peavey...
Peavey seems the better bedroom amp but FFS who doesn't love the raw sound of the Blues Jr. ? Now I want one lol
Both Amps sound good, but I think the Fender would be easier on the patrons ear as the night goes on during a gig. Not to take away from the Envoy.
It's a tough call they both sound good, I probably would go for the Peavey but like them both.

I don't hear much difference in tone, but it looks like the Peavey provides a larger area for setting coffee cups... (or other beverage containers)...
lol
They both sound good, Ed. I'd have to hear some James Gang on both of them before I could make a decision.
That I can do!
Rock on, Ed!

WATCHED IT AT THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! \M/
I've played fender and peavey , I'll go with peavey
Peaveyのトランスチューブシリーズはソリッドステートアンプとしてはかなり優秀ですね。
I've never seen this guy before but there is no way he's not Canadian.
Not a fair comparison. Very different amps specs.

I have both and imho, the Peavey throws an ass whopping on the Fender on the clean tones..the Fender does the ass whooping on dirty stuff tho.
I can't disagree.

It should work fine!
mine is classic 50 2 12 blue marvel..its a beast

This one is 40 watts... but not even close to the quality of a Bandit.... serious..
Thanks Ed. Explains the price tag difference.
Fender all the way, jmo
I'm a big Peavey guy.... but in this case... I have to agree Ken... The Blues Jr is way better..
Very unfair comparison because the BJ comes with a 12" speaker and the envoy with a 10".
Blues jr sounds better for me, but y also think it doesn't worth it to spend al that money.
Something sounded wrong with the Peavey, it sounded incredibly flubbery
I don't like the gain channel at all.. not on this amp..
Your guitar sounds like a coffee can full of change with a neck zip tied to it.
Sounds like he's using a seriously aggressive pick attack.
mine is distressed...they are the best..distressed amps sound better and have better "tone".ha ha
