@@johnk8825 The AI is only designed to recognize people or vehicles. It may still try and follow, just don't expect the followed S2 to be in the frame.

Great video Billy! However, we would like to remind our customers that flying near thin branches/wires goes against our standard operating guidelines and can potentially void your warranty in the event of a crash. Another thing, we have a Dual Charger accessory available in our store so you don't have to charge your batteries via the drone.

Nice video! It’s interesting to see all the new reviews from drone reviewers. There is some really cool tech behind this drone. Hopefully some of the small problems can be ironed out over time. I got to keep reminding myself that almost all the drones that came out in the last few years needed to be tweaked a bit after release. Thanks for the review!

You’re sending the drone at high speed through twig branches. Amazed that this amazing drone can even see wires! It didn’t look like the drone lost you as much; it was merely busy avoiding obstacles and planning its path! Lol. Really good video!

I don’t know of any drone available that is able to miss small branches or electric wires and I don’t believe Skydio said that it could you are pushing this drone past it’s intended limits and I think it’s doing fantastic ! I’ll bet if you stick to it’s intended OA response you will be even more amazed at what it achieves.

Awesome video. It went thru a grueling test and passed. I think software updates will improve the tracking. Now I am thinking of getting me a Skydio S2.
I think it handled really well, especially near those branches and the bridge
I was hyped when I saw the initial specs on the Skydio 2 and put in a deposit. Slept on it and after a couple of days got the deposit returned and am glad I did. I am a senior drone flyer in addition to being a FAA flight instructor for many years. Therefore, having a drone follow me on a motorized skate board is not my normal day of drone flying. You have more guts than many of us to be distracted with a drone while traveling 25 mph on your board. Have to hand it to you for your balancing act to show off the obstacle avoidance features of the Skydio 2!

It was a pretty extreme test. You were travelling fast and it had a lot to dodge. Did pretty well to be honest. Interested to see some more vids on it.
Great review! I was cringing waiting for it to crash, but no. Loved that it flew through the bridge with no trouble. I liked that you were calling for it when it lost you like calling after a disobedient dog.

Seems like very good performance actually! That was an Incredibly difficult task going through all those Wires and the Bridge and the branches and not hitting anything! Unbelievably impressive in my opinion.

Thank you Billy for the awesome video! I'm in batch 2 patiently waiting to have the S2 in my hands. I totally agree with you that the autonomous isn't quite there yet. Reason being, it hesitated a few times while you were on the bridge while following directly behind you. I.M.O., the bubble around the S2 needs to be smaller/tighter in distance. I feel that it should have followed you without hesitating due to the wide span between the sides of the bridge. I saw somewhere in another video that this tighter bubble has been implemented in the S2 software Pro Kits. If this is true, it should be there for all of us. I also believe, the S2 would fly smoother keeping a steady distance from it's subject if this was in place. Other than that, I'm super excited over this drone as a motorcyclist, snowmobiler and boater. I followed and learned so much from you since day one of owning my DJI MA. Can't wait to see more from you on the S2. Thanks again! 👍👍😊 Peace back at ya!✌️
It would be nice to see the bubble you described be dynamic, I don't think it is and the drone has to consider it's avoidance at all it's speeds, not just going slow. I was told it needs a meter on each side to navigate through obstacles otherwise it seems to be hunting for the path through whatever it comes up on in close proximity.
@@RidefreakTV It does seem to be hunting at times but........ taking into consideration what this drone is calculating makes it one awesome drone that's in its own league. If it's true about the Pro Kits, we'll surely hear more about it. 😊

You honestly put that drone through a very difficult obstacle course and I’m not sure that would even be considered even close to the norm. I’m impressed. Al things considered, it did an amazing job. Just imagine going someplace that’s not half as cluttered with obstacles? I think it would do very well. I fly as a hobby and I’m sitting here trying to think of a way I could justify another 1000 dollar drone lol.

I think it has some bugs to work out but 80% of the time it tracks pretty well, once they fix the kinks in it, it will be a beast for action active track

Great points, especially the fact that there's no external charger and that the mem card is locked behind a bat. No one has mentioned that in other reviews that I watched.
This was a really good video. Seeing it dodge those thin branches was incredible. I would like to see more of what this drone can do other then follow me, such as just manual flying with a controller. Oh I have to ask...how does that board keep moving along? It's electric powered? Haven't been on one since I was a very young kid.
Good video, great footage! I like the Skydio 2 idea but I feel like the autonomous flying will get old quickly. What could be cool is if you can capture FPV style shots with the Skydio 2.

@@knife-wieldingspidergod5059 I waited for years saving up my $$. When the Mavic Pro and Mavic zoom came out I knew it was time to do something so I got on the internet and placed my order for the DJI Mavic -2 Zoom.
People tell me how quiet it is and how good the pictures it takes.
I do wish I could take snapshots (stills) while doing video.
I heard that in 2020 solid state batteries are coming out. They suppose to give us 3X more power packed into each one and 50% lighter. I do hope they make it to the drone world.
