- Some highlights from this weekends two 20 minute flights with the Skydio 2 + Controller. No color-correction, stabilization, speed ramping, or reversing of any kind on the clips in this video.

This is maybe the most suspenseful video I have ever seen. I am imagining trying to get these shots with my Mavic... jesus. What a complete game changer.

Why is this drone not a “game changer” ? To me it is, no other drone does what s2 does with such precision. Great video.
willian castaneda it’s exactly what I have been saying over on my channel. Skydio 2 is the next evolution and will be the industry standard with film makers. The fact that they are the first to do this and have patents galore means they are ahead of many people.
It is not because it is.
DJI and the likes know this thing smokes anything they have.
It will get more buzz once the deliveries start. It's coming...
for this to be #1 they will need to get rid of that regurgitate controller, and fix the long range video signal, also there is some minor tweaks needed for the obstacle and tracking functions.
@@django1364 the s2 is bad ass as is but the long range video signal is the Achilles heel. If the s2 could match occusync from dji then it completely smashes the competition
This is super awesome, it’s what I’m looking for. Most people just use it the wrong way. They are flying high 100-200 feet or flying straight line or flying in open space which is a waste. I wanted this drone to follow me hiking through the roughest trails.
Has to be the most epic drone video on RUclips now, wont last long but hey.
Now that’s an amazing Skydio 2 video, going forward I have no regrets about my pre order !

12 minutes , seemed like 3 minutes with this drone , i never got bored once , and that a hard thing not to do when watching other done videos , great job man, and skydio is on another level.

The Skydio is the best autonomous drone. How easily and smoothly she avoids obstacles. And still at a good pace. Nice 👍 System.

Excellent!! I’m perplexed as to not having seen any foliage, leaves, twigs etc disturbed by any prop wash, Amazing! Can’t wait til mine (batch 1) finally shows up.
AerialPicPro you wouldn’t see plants moving from prop wash unless I was looking straight down.

Great video. What struck me is that the skydio fitted with an infrared camera will be a great search drone for missing persons.
The RTH footage wasn't what I was expecting. That was interesting the S2 stayed below the canopy and used OA to get back to the home point. I would've thought it would go up and over the trees.

So there’s a option to the RTH option wonder which is less battery intensive, #1 fly low use the cpu and better during flight avoidance to return or #2 use battery power to climb and then rth interesting.
I had quite a surprise when I decided to test RTH with mine with an obstacle in the way. I hovered it about 2 meters up, walked to the other side of the house, then hit RTH. It startled me as it came racing around the house back to me, still 2 meters above ground.
Wow, this is legit search and rescue capability. Really amazing flight.

love this. The only thing I need to make this the drone perfect for me would be the ability to fly without the sensors at night. if in the future they allow you to do this and forego the warranty, it'd be fantastic.
I can so see some footage for shows or movies being shot like this with the Skydio. I mean how else could they shoot a similar situation, chase scene through the woods would be awesome with this drone.

This video was both relaxing (great music) and mesmerizing at the same time! I ordered a Skydio recently and hope to capture similar shots in my back 40 now that I've seen that it can be done.
All I could think of while watching this was that I wish I had some popcorn. Amazing, captivating, suspenseful, entertaining, need I say more? Well done!!
I've got mine (after a 6mo wait) with the Deluxe kit & Beacon. I bought it thinking I could fly in my local park with one tree. I better up my game! To post on RUclips BIG FINE without a Commercial License. Glad I checked the rules. Skydio is a UNICORN...IMO
great work in an interesting environment for demonstrating the capabilities of the drone and you on the controller. This is more than an action drone.

The ability to fly backward and sideways without knowing where you're going, and not hitting anything, is incredible footage. Kendall, I wonder if it helps to aim the camera in the direction you want to try to go when stuck. Oh, and I also like the DANGER sign.
Bruce Christianson I was doing all the camera aiming and choosing which direction to go, the Skydio 2 just finds the safest path there. It can’t see what’s beyond a wall, or around a corner, so having a human pilot is pretty irreplaceable.
Literally the video I have been waiting for! I wanted to see how this would handle under a canopy for potential use in wilderness SAR applications.

The challenge this skydio2 drone has brought this 2019 will revolutionize the drone industry in terms Ai of obstacle avoidance. I'm yet to see a drone that beat it in obstacle avoidance. DJI has to wake up to this challenge....

Are you dumb or slow which one, those 2 drones you talking about wouldn't even make it through the trees without crashing,even if they had obstacle avoidance sensors they will still crash, that's why the skydio is the shit right now I'll be buying that real soon,

The biggest problem with Skydio is ME. Getting over the fear of crashing and losing a $1000 drone. I just have to fly and let it do its thing
It takes a while to get confident in it, but once you are you can do some incredible stuff.

For this video, was the drone evading obstacles by itself? For example you just push forward and if there is a tree in front, it will just go around the tree and resume the path?
