It really is. It made my eyes tear up.....just really made me feel so much emotion. I just love these guys so much. I am 58 years old, it's been a good while since a band has had me this obsessed ....lol...I love it !!!!

What an emotional ride! At first I am overcome with a nostalgic sadness, then almost immediately my heart fills with joy. It's like nothing I have felt in ages for new music. I can't stop listening to this beautiful tune, my faith has been restored!! Thank you Greta Van Fleet!!!

I absolutely feel the same way.. I’m 54 years old and I just heard Greta Van Fleet 3 days ago and and I feel like it is music for the soul of my being. So happy I found them, so happy that the music I grew up with has influenced these extremely talented young men and hopefully everyone will feel how important it is to let the music into your life!!!

I had tickets for the Jacksonville show last Friday night ,sadly it was postponed until, who knows. I bought those tickets months ago, unfortunately Josh ruptured his eardrum. I will wait impatiently cause these guys have something special!!

I heard this for the first time yesterday, I stopped what was doing, That guitar solo at the end was incredible, major goose bumps !!

This song, along with Light my Love are among my two top favorites on this album. Like most fans I discovered them on Highway Tune and Safari song, and have been jamming out for a while. When I heard Light my Love and Broken Bells though.. it really stuck with me as an experience I'll never forget. The night I heard this song, I was in a really dark place mentally, and every minute of this song helped me claw my way out of the dark pit of the dangerous depressive episode I was in. These guys are seriously something special. It's been a really long time since modern music has had that kind of effect on me.

Yeah, me too, I even ordered a special edition White Album they are doing pre-orders for as well. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album. These guys are AMAZING!!! We were fortunate to have seen them live August 5th, 2021 and the talent and the energy was unbelievable. You definitely can't deny the talent. I will see them every single time I have the chance. Thanks guys for this. They are keeping Rock alive!

You guys get it. You look past the age of the players....the clothes....the style. You wake up at the 4 and a half minute mark of a 5 minute song.....it's 1974....you are 18 years old all over again. There is no other sound out there that is doing this right now. 60 year old fathers and mothers are reconnecting with their 25 year old sons and daughters over this group. Even if you don't care for the music genre...you have to be happy about the generation bridges this band is spanning. Great review as always guys.

Been a fan since their first album. They just keep improving their sound and talent. It's hard to find good music like we had in the 70's, this brings back those days for me.
I am enjoying seeing the joy on your faces as you listen to this instant classic. Like you, I knew GVF were the real deal when I first heard them in 2017. I have also seen them live at The Joint at the Hard Rock in Vegas back in 2019. They absolutely need to be seen live; they will blow you away. This song gave me chills from about the midpoint until the end. This second album is going to be a masterwork for them based on the singles that have been released. Can't wait for the album release which I preordered. Love your reactions!!
Be forewarned: seeing them live is addictive. I saw them the first time in Oct 2018. Within a year I'd seen them 4 times, even though the closest one was 3 hours away. The best part is, when the concert is over there's a party in the parking lot, people blasting their songs and singing at the tops of their lungs because they just don't want it to be over.

Just recently got introduced to them, It's better late than never. My favorites thus far on their new album are the heat above and broken bells.

This band is growing and showing the world what true musical talent is and shall be!! Sadly, there are young people out there that cannot recognize what a real band should sound like and feel like! By the way, when my pre-ordered Battle at Garden's Gate arrives, I will have all their albums. Their record(s) will sit in a revered place by all my Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, CCR, BOC, ELO and ACDC complete sets to be played and played!
Do you have the first EP on vinyl? Not From the Fires, the one before that. Was it just called Black Smoke Rising? The one with only 4 songs on it.

When they teased us with the symbols for each song I picked the one for Broken Bells and said that's going to be my favorite and I was right. Can't wait to sing that chorus when we get to see them live again! Also, I think this is the best CoVid-era song I've heard. Everything about this song illustrates the loneliness we've experienced throughout the pandemic. "Sweeping off the pavement with a parlor broom, going nowhere soon." Also Jake's best guitar solo on the album, more soulful and less about his technical prowess.

His voice reminds me of so many singers, not just Robert Plant, as he was compared to on the first album. It reminds me of Tommy Shaw from Styx, but I think it reminds me most of Frank DiMino from Angel, particularly their first album that was Prog. But he has his own flare too. Good stuff.

Yeah, I can't even decide what my favorite tune of the latest album is, either - it tends to be whatever I listened to last. This, "Heat Above", "The Weight Of Dreams", "Built By Nations", "Age Of Machines" all great - haven't listened to the others yet, but yeah, all great.
Love Greta and I guarantee you will love Dirty Honey. Y’all ain’t covered them yet. Another new up and coming band off the sunset strip. Think Aerosmith, GNR, and AC/DC had a baby and you’ve got Dirty Honey. Hell, they toured with Slash. You guys gotta give a listen to “when I’m gone” by Dirty Honey. If you don’t like it I’ll kiss your boots! Cheers!

My favorite song by Greta. This song tracks exactly to Stairway to Heaven with the build up and Jimmy Page riff at the end. They are the Led Zep II with their own original sound.

I've been lucky enough to have been to three of their live gigs so far. I reckon next time l see them it'll be in like an Arena or Festival✌

My advice: don't see them at a festival unless they're headlining at night. I saw them at Austin City Limits music festival and they only played about 45 minutes. It was so freaking HOT you could tell they just wanted to get done and get out of there. This was the concert where Jake got his hair stuck in his guitar, so there was that bit of history I got to experience. I paid much more for that ticket than the other 3x I saw them and those shows were so much better. Bonus is I did get to see Sir Paul McCartney that evening. Quietly singing Blackbird with him and 10,000 other people was nothing short of magical.

Some other bands y’all should check out are Dirty Honey, Crown Lands, Ida Mae, Quaker City Night Hawks, Joyous Wolf, Senium, the Lemon Twigs, and South of Eden. I’d say all of these have a classic sound except Senium which is part of the New Grunge scene.
I saw Ida Mae with GVF in Madison. I really liked them. Also saw Dorothy with GVF in Dallas. She's really amazing. One kick-ass lady.

@@rockobama4022 probably my coolest GVF experience was being right in front of Jake when he got his hair caught in his guitar at Austin City Limits music festival. I though Troy was going to have to cut his hair off, but Jake never stopped playing!

Their uncle lives in Hawaii. They had to cancel their concerts there in 2019 due to a hurricane, but I imagine they'll do their best to make up for it when they start touring again.
