This album is cinematic and anthemic in its musical magnificence. This is as good as rock music gets. The entire album is, in a word, stunning!
People who think GVF is a bad band know nothing about music.
Don't agree. Musical taste and preference do not neceserally indicate anything about the individual's musical knowledge. In fact, my music teacher listens to many types of music, with metal not being one he particularly likes. Still, the man knows his shit.

For a long time I've felt like GVF is a perfect fit to do the opening theme for a James Bond movie and this songs just cements my belief. Maybe that's what Josh meant when he said this album is "cinematic".
definitely agree! the mood of a few of their songs would suit Bond. for me especially broken bells.
They are my age and I can't get past how insanely talented they are. Before hearing them my favorite band to listen to was Rush. You can't say you love pure music without respecting the sounds of either Rush or Greta. They're so wildly different but pure, complex, and intoxicating.
They actually sounded very Rush-esqe at times in this album! Love that comparison. They’re further from LZ now and have become more prog-rock tbh.

@@clemthegoat8034 Yeah, exactly, like a modern rush but with some other influences, I hear maybe some Journey, Styx, or even Toto in there (all huge compliments), but in a heavier, proggier version. They're definitely finding their own space and sound, way beyond being an LZ clone...

The acoustic ending gives me chills every time
This will make a great 25 minute extended jam as an encore. Looking forward to live shows again! I agree no one touches them at this moment.
They’ve already played this song live, search for Black Flag Exposition, it‘s a song they’ve been playing live but never recorded it, now they just changed the lyrics and the name, however, both are sick

This album has to be the best album in the last 10 years easy. It’s been a year and I still listen to it every time I’m in my car or any other time I get to listen to music. So freaking awesome

This is such a masterpiece. Wish you could see my reaction when I heard it the first time! The way I shrieked in excitement whenever Josh hit those high notes and the way I smiled when he comes back down and then the way I put my hand on my head when a riff or a solo kicks in. This album made me feel something I haven't felt in a long time. I love these guys so much! Thank you for this masterpiece GVF❤ Great Album from the boys
This is without a doubt their Freebird, there will obviously never be another Freebird but it was an awesome power ballad early on into an incredible long solo at the end

Great choice. That took me on a musical journey. Felt like I was listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd on that solo. Just imagine how they will sound if they could get a full orchestra backing them. I’d fly to the moon to hear that!! Keep up the great work!

I love Greta Van Fleet. Have seen them 3 times live, and this song is on repeat. You’re so right. This album is one that you can just let play all the way through again and again. I listened to it for about 2-3 hours straight the other day while working. I recently found your channel and really enjoy watching you guys react. Great, positive energy. Love Josh of course, but Jake is really starting to catch my attention more and more and Sam and Danny as well... As the musicianship and tightness of the band when performing live, their ability to entertain is just becoming phenomenal, epic, mind blowing etc... better and better all the time. But even beyond all that what I'm really starting to catch is the power of the song writing: lyrics with real poetry behind them and meaning and power combined with just the right kind of melodies and riffs and baselines and drum beats and breakdowns and flights into psychedelic heights... ..... But I should stop myself before I get carried away : )
Epic album. As a great fan I feel a little bit tired of other reactions that love to say that “they sound like LZ” I think they are inspired of as many artists are by someone or Band. You guys rock! Thanks!

As a former corn fed SW Michigan native, I'm so proud of the boys. Their talent, humility during interviews and progress they're making defies their years. This album KICKS ASS!
This is rarely mentioned that the being brothers, two being twins, have a special bond and musical ability that melds so well together. You here instances where twins have been separated at birth and if brought back together later in life. The find out they think and do a lot things similar sometimes exact. The similarities are good, but they all have each have an individual creativity that I believe comes easy to all of them, which just works and makes them unique. And Danny shouldn't be forgotten is like the fourth brother. There are no egos here that I see with any of them. A family will battle together!!
Saw them live, everything they played was unreal, top 3 concert of all time for me. They put on a damn good show and sound better live.
Same here! I'm an old dude, I've been to hundreds of shows, but their show was the most fantastic, warm, overwhelming, upsetting show I've been to.. the best night of my life.

Great song! When a song is 8 minutes; and at no point feels redundant, you know it's something special. Between GVF, The Warning, and Liliac rock might have a chance of surviving.
It’s a trip that the mainstream critics hate them. Rolling Stones completely shit on this album. And it’s wild because so many people obviously love it
You hear the music on the radio nowadays.. critics don't have a clue. I never listen to them for music or movies.
Take a Look at Rolling Stone best album of the year lists, it's mainly rap or some pop. They don't care about true musicians and really ambitious arrangements. But who cares what they think?😁

You guys couldn’t have said it better right at the end of that video. “You can say and comment what you want, but there’s no group that’s out right now that even touch this.” So true. Drives me nuts that people just instantly dismiss them as a knockoff Led Zeppelin. God forbid they draw any influence from the greatest rock band ever formed

Another Michigan native, NW area, love GVF. The more I listen to them the more I like them. The Weight of Dreams is an awesome track. Wouldn't cut one second of its 8 minutes.

Guys I feel like we are in the same age range, and I don’t know about you but I cannot get over how great this group is. Saw them live in Nashville Aug 6 and I don’t mind telling you it’s the best concert I’ve ever seen. I don’t say that lightly.

People say that they are like Led Zeppelin. I feel more connected to Greta van fleets music than any other bands. Josh has a high vocal range and the way they write makes you feel alive. It puts you in a trance and then when song it done you are mind blown ever single time. I love them so much #gretavanfleet

Hey guys, hope you get this as the reaction in 2 years old. Did you see that Jake has just won the poll for best guitar solo of the 21st century for this track. Amazing stuff he had the likes of Slash behind him to boot. ❤❤
We sure did see that and we mentioned it in one of our videos he's a great guitarist and will only get better. But to be in the same grouping as slash and some of the other greats is saying a lot.
I thought the solo sounded more like Alvin Lee from Ten Years After than EVH. Also crazy fast, but less legato and more staccato....
You guys should watch these live version of this song from atlanta it was the first time I ever heard these guys and my first concert ever and it's even BETTER than the album version, I 100% percent agree these guys are going to be huge. Not saying you should make a video about because he doubles the length of the solo but definitely check it out
They've been working on the foundation guitar solo for a while, jamming around that in concerts from a couple of years ago. I'm glad they finally built a song around it.

Totally agree in the current rock world (Newer bands) that there is nothing touching GVF. Now I truly feel and I'm sure many others feel Gojira is doing the same thing in the metal world. Not sure how much you're into metal. But Gojira sends some similar messages with their music but alot of it is very environmentally driven. They are trying to make a change in the world and help save the planet and animals. I think you guys would atleast appreciate Gojiras new albums Fortitude even if you're not really into metal. It's amazing emotionally moving stuff.

Hi Monk and Joker! I just subbed because I thought I'd already done so, but here nor there, I am now, hehe! Some of us fans in The Peaceful Army of Greta Van Fleet call Jake "Guitar Man" because he makes us girls cry with his beautiful solos. Together with his identical twin Josh's incredible voice, their younger brother Sam's skillful keys and bass, and Danny's killer drums, they are pretty much unstoppable. I agree, they're going to be around for a good while. You are in for a treat with the rest of the album too, can't wait for you to hear it! It demands to be listened to with a good pair of headphones, like you guys do, or on a good stereo cranked up 😏. Almost forgot...you guys are awesome!
