Yep Black Flag/Weight of Dreams is pretty incredible! The entire fandom was pretty disappointed when they released the entire setlist of titles from the new album and "Black Flag Exposition" wasn't on there, and then literally only like a week and a half ago Jake announced in an interview with Loudwire that "The Weight of Dreams" is the new name for "Black Flag Exposition" and the GVF fandom freaked out after that 😂they also released the timestamp for all the songs, and "The Weight of Dreams" is 9 minutes long so I am very much looking forward to that coming out on the 16th.

The song that started towards the end is called "watching over". I recommend that one too! Anything live is great.
I saw them twice on the Dreams In Gold tour and Jake shredded that guitar for a solid 10 minutes on that solo. Fog, lights, fire, explosions! It was an amazing experience! I think I uploaded his solo from the Cincinnati show on my RUclips.

This is a remake of a song from the 70's by Melanie called Lay Down ( candles in the rain ). She wrote this song after she performed at Woodstock seeing all the candles in the crowd. Of course they put there own spin to it. Jake's guitar has such a beautiful tone, and he can really make it sing. This is suppose to be on the new album, but with a different name, Weight of Dreams. Can't wait to hear the studio version. They are hella good live tho huh? Thanks for the music, Mike !

This had to be insane Live at Red Rocks I've been there before it's an incredible place I was told once there's a lot of really great guitar players but every once in awhile you come across one who is truly symbiotic with his craft and for me that embodies Jake oh, I would love to know where he goes when he's up there on stage, you can see it in his extended jams he is just gone. He is absolutely incredible. Great reaction videos thank you
Black Flag Exposition - is part of the song Lay Down (candles in the rain) which was a song originally by Melanie Saska in the late 60s. Would recommend checking out the original by Melanie as a stand alone experience. I love they are aware of the song and put it out there for people to discover.

The whole red rocks concert is amazing, there's 3 parts and an encore. They are even better live than in studio, trip the light fantastic is a great example, I prefer it live, great performance!
They are undoubtedly the best live band out there. Seen them 6xs....you never know at what point they are going to just go off and blow your fucking mind.
I'm so Excited you Finally got to this One!!! I Knew you would Love It!!! There is a book called "Black Flag Expedition" that the song is based upon. Jake Kills It! When Josh Sings those last lyrics... Spiritual!!! The words are different on "The Weight of Dreams", but the music is Very similar... Jake... I just Admire his Talent with Daniel on the drums... It is Crazy!!! So Excited You Like It!!! There is actually one live where Jake is playing and Literally gets lost in his playing... Josh has to go over and "snap him out of it"... it's one of the Most Beautiful things to see...

Oh my gosh you said it! They DO kind of put one in a bit of a trance. They're kind of amazing! It's a full body, mind, soul experience.
I'm a 50yr old woman from hickville, nowhere...and this is one of those songs I can listen to just the guitar as a song in itself.
Josh has said in past interviews that he is into world music, Jake into classic Rock, Danny into folk and Sam is into jazz. All that comes together to form GVF!!

The new version called Weight Of Dreams on the new record has new lyrics because the version here uses some from a song called Lay Down (Candles In The Rain).

Personally I would love to see Josh sing more in his lower range because he has a very nice tone both high and low but he tends to only sing high. It's my only criticism of him aha, other than that though he's incredible :)

Actually - they are more composers really, then writers of music. They are composing symphonies.

The intro is part of the structure of Gipsy/ Cañi /Druid music. Still traditional in Northern Europe Portugal, Spain France. It is Druid (which goes back into Neanderthal music and this example is TRULY exquisite (albeit simple). I am talking a level of technique and Chops seldom have "brillante" (clearness)
It would be interest to know whence their bloodline is . Also their vocals have that clear high sustains and decays.. In one note: . They are doing very .. litle and priducing harmonics that they shouldn't know and it must be inheritance. The first guitarist I ever heard doing Dreud takes you can find it in Jeff Beck's "Beck-Ola" a great sample is "Spanish Boots" The gentlemen have pedigree. In my opinion none of the well know Brit bands have NOTHING on these gentlemen. a DNA sampling of well known musicians (northern Europe/Scandinavia) should yield some interesting results, And BTW this has NOTHING to do with USA R& R..( 9:52) WOAH YOU GOT the uniqueness of the sound . ! YES! it is THAT powerful. You do not need LSD to talk to the GODS. I am so GLAD they have opened the gates.
Now.. notice the similarities of style with Jeff Beck and his Druid runs
I can see why they changed the name - in military terms, the Black Flag means "Take No Prisoners" / "Kill Them All", which is not quite the usual spirit of GVF's songs, lol....
