Hi Colin, here is some quick feedback for the update videos. I love watching these "behind the scenes" videos and have always loved them since you started the channel. As a viewer, it's always so great to learn your process of the nitty-gritty of what you are doing. Explaining why you chose to pour, where you did it, and what tools you use would go a long way. At 22:20, you do a fantastic job of explaining the process, but for a 25-minute video, there is little of it. Your videos are unique; we all appreciate your hard work creating fantastic content!
Colin furze flute shoot v2 either make it a slightly bendy tube about 1-2 meters at the end. Attack a rigid rod to the end so you can direct it then you wont need to move it at the top. Colin!! My son and I watch all your tunnel videos! Father-son time aside, he came up with a BRILLIANT idea for left over concrete for you. Make some small molds and pour the excess concrete into them, making Tunnel Pucks! You could make a negative of some simple design, say “Furze Mining Co.” Or just a Safety Tie symbol. Whatever, and cast that into the pucks and sell them right along side the jars of dirt! The molds could be made from simple thin wall pipe segments to make little concrete rounds! Just a thought. ;-) Love all the videos you make!
Colin, a couple of questions that I may have missed the answers to. (1) what seals/covers the driveway when the car lift is in the recessed position? So you drive the car onto the lift in the driveway, lower it into the underground garage, and then there is an opening above the car - what covers that opening if anything? (2) You now have a car, presumably with gasoline (I guess you would say petrol) in it in an underground garage - which I would argue is not quite the same as an attached garage to your home (safety wise). What safety mechanisms will be in place underground? Fire suppression system? Gas exhaust? I know you have the fresh air vent - but is that enough to vent bad gases in the event of an emergency? (3) Have you considered an emergency escape route? I don’t remember if you talked about this or not, but an “escape hatch” up through the roof of the “carport” might be a safety feature. Sure, it would introduce a new area for rain water/etc to enter, and would require extra sealing, but in the event of a disaster (oil/gas fire, etc) it might be a real comfort to have. These have probably all been discussed before, my apologies if I missed them.
@@JBobjorkthat’s not how concrete works. It’s not mixed there. It’s mixed at a plant per the formula required for the job. The truck has a water tank & can add water to thin it down as it comes out.
@@stevemccauley5734 Also add water to it to delay the set time if they get delayed, but you can only add so much before it gets out of the specification needed.

30m down the road in Stevenage - it's not that it's hot, it's that it's really close and sweaty. The moisture in the air holds the heat overnight as well, so it's still minging when you're trying to sleep

Your concrete chute is called a “Tremie” and as you mentioned they are used to prevent segregation in the wet concrete (I.e., the big rocks settling to the bottom of the pour).

I've been having a horrible day and week. It was great to see this video pop-up on my homepage. Thanks for what you do and the videos you make. Even just a video like this from you brought some joy to what was already a pretty rough morning. Thanks Colin.
Super ! but really dangerous to leave the ends of the metal bars straight without recurve them (curved extremity). 8:30 You must bend each end of the bar because this leads to serious or even fatal accidents. it is a source of suffering and danger.
Colin a question. Not sure if you've already mentioned it or keeping it close to your chest. I'm assuming your planning on creating a opening and closing roof. What's the plan there? Sliding from underneath? Swing doors? It's not my speciality but seems like could be a nightmare to get water tight. I'm assuming you'll need drainage channels? The turn table lift and doors are going to be 2 of the best things you've ever built. Wish you the best
Three ideas - 1) Make the 'roof' of the lift, which would be the floor of the driveway when its closed and the car is underground, plexiglass on the topmost layer, and solar panels below it. So that the whole lift roof adds solar for the bunker power. 2) Drinking water evaporate. It can draw power from whatever green energy your house and bunker produce, and can reduce humidity in the tunnels while producing potable water. A true bunker survival tool. 3) Stretch goal; Make all the airways and entryways air-sealable (just leave them open most the time), and add an actual HEPA air system with forced air to create positive pressure. A true bunker.
Best content on RUclips this. Awesome stuff Colin, love these 2nd channel videos where we get to see you waffle a bit and see your thought processes. Such talent.
Speaking as an engineer, the exposed foundations of your house are giving me serious anxiety. The longer that ground is exposed, the bigger chance of something going wrong. I hope you get a chance to build a support/wall there soon. I hope your planning on using stronger rebar for that area too. Love what you do... living the dream
They might just be too scared to say no. When the guy who keeps building ever increasingly rockets, flying machines, and underground lairs asks to drive over your garden you just be glad he didn’t bury you in his garden
I can’t even begin to think of how much of a pain it must be to even fill but especially sort through all the footage and now sort what’s for the main or secondary channel. That alone is an undertaking in itself but then building this tunnel/underground garage is a completely different issue. And with all that I’m insanely impressed.

Hey, Great chute love it, however, you might want to slant it a little more next time, you should avoid letting concrete free-fall for more than a couple meters (6-8ft) otherwise it will begin to segregate mid-air and you wind up with a significantly weaker product.

Up to a point. Without noticing, I turned into Santa. I used to be self conscious that I had ginger in my beard & tache, but now it's mostly white.
I absolutely love how you did this video for the second channel! Its a great way to make both channels interesting to watch👍
I've been having a horrible day and week. It was great to see this video pop-up on my homepage. Thanks for what you do and the videos you make. Even just a video like this from you brought some joy to what was already a pretty rough morning. Thanks Colin.
Hope it gets better for ya! When you're down the only way is up!
Super !
but really dangerous to leave the ends of the metal bars straight without recurve them (curved extremity). 8:30
You must bend each end of the bar because this leads to serious or even fatal accidents. it is a source of suffering and danger.
They also sell plastic caps to go onto them.
New concrete system? Sounds like you are getting places Colin! Keep digging; keep up the good work!
I like the commentary of this channel. I love both channels. Thank you. Keep up the great work.
So great to see our two favourite Swift-Cut Pro tunnelers Colin and Dave working together on this amazing project!
Maybe try it like the first floor part, with the steel plates that have holes and welt steel funnels on them, which get removed later. 🔥
So glad you allow us all to take this journey with you. It's been one of my favorite things to do the last few years
Three ideas - 1) Make the 'roof' of the lift, which would be the floor of the driveway when its closed and the car is underground, plexiglass on the topmost layer, and solar panels below it.
Keep it up Colin. Always enjoy watching your stuff.
Trafic cone as funnel! Genius 😂
That made my day
Me to wife with great excitement “tunnel Dave is now in Colin’s tunnel video”
Wife didn’t share the same joy. 😂
Weird that , i got the exact same response.😂
Awesome! Love the progress videos!
Colin Furze wailing as concrete sprays into his personal space like a cat menaced with a spray bottle is the content we all need.
Aw yiss, more tunnel! Best thing on the internet
Great Britain, possibly the only nation with recreational tunneling enthusiasts. 🇬🇧 Makes you proud!
Penetrol, Colin. Great finishing oil for bare metal; used to seal patina on architectural steel.
This whole series and journey has been one of the best things on youtube to follow. Its like tuning in to your faverite tv program.
Colin thank you for producing these vids we appreciate the effort you put into them. I note that you have your own jcb front loader as well.
Props to your long-suffering neighbours for letting you put that tracking over their front garden! Rather generous of them to facilitate this madness
They might just be too scared to say no. When the guy who keeps building ever increasingly rockets, flying machines, and underground lairs asks to drive over your garden you just be glad he didn’t bury you in his garden
Concrete day! 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥
Keep em coming Colin!
Another "satisfying workers" video, love concrete filling the gaps. Best wishes COLIN 🤞🤞🤞🤟
I can’t even begin to think of how much of a pain it must be to even fill but especially sort through all the footage and now sort what’s for the main or secondary channel.
That alone is an undertaking in itself but then building this tunnel/underground garage is a completely different issue. And with all that I’m insanely impressed.
17:39 Love you Colin you’re an inspiration to us DIYers but please edit this out as it sounds like you’re say a certain word, it could be just my hearing ❤❤
def not just you lol
you aren't the only one
concrete day!!!!
Anyone else have full body shivers when they sawed at the foam pieces? 😂😂😂😂
Found your channel during COVID and been tuning in ever since. One of my fav channels by far, so much so ive put most of my mates onto it and we all want a bunker just line yours 😂🤣
We have had a grand time following your crazy huge diy. Cheers bud
Colin. Those of use that have followed you for more than 3 years understand any delays in your videos. Just do what you do and we'll be here. 😎👍
Wait ....4oclock on a Thursday afternoon, this is normally a morning coffee watch for me ......descions 🤔🤣 now or tomorrow morning !!
doing a project like you are doing is hard enough, never mind setting up cameras to record it as well. my dad was a builder and days we did concrete or laying bricks i come home knackered, makes me wonder where you get the energy to keep going and do the camera work stuff as well. keep up the good work, i dont mind the delay between videos considering how good and interesting each video is.
17:39 Don’t be so modest Colin I see you you’re a legend cheers mate🍻
first
that means I get free dirt????
you actually are!
@@skyknight6467 I don't think so? I dunno
@@skyknight6467I got some dirt for you. Neighborhood dogs keep pooping on my lawn so I'm getting rid of all the dirt
Wow! that's more support for free dirt then I ever thought I'd get. Seriously though shipping to the USA would be way too much. Plus I'm in the process of buying my first house so hopefully if everything goes right I'll have all the dirt I could ever want. If Colin see's this though You're doing great!!! If I may be a bit corny, I'm digging the second channel. lol
up untill now i have 0 complaints about main and second channel interferance! and I love the style you do for over here, its a second channel for a reason ay
Hey, Great chute love it, however, you might want to slant it a little more next time, you should avoid letting concrete free-fall for more than a couple meters (6-8ft) otherwise it will begin to segregate mid-air and you wind up with a significantly weaker product.
