I understand that this may seem kinda pathetic, but listening to these old conversations have saved my life dozens and dozens of times, up until this very minute. I'm in that strange place where I just wanna get off this ride that's called life, but too much of a coward to actually go through with it. I laugh so much at these guys, especially Karl. It really makes me happy enough to just go to sleep and take tomorrow the best I can.
Don’t get off the ride until you don’t have a choice. I felt like that until I started working out & I can say with confidence that working out really does help you feel physically better but emotionally too.
Start by going for a walk for 30 minutes every day and build from there.
You’re not a coward for stopping yourself from doing something bad. But what it shows is true mental fortitude.
I love that sleep is always his main defense mechanism, the only way to fix the problem haha.

Didn't know the little story about Suzanne and the hot chocolate! That's adorable! I'd love to see her guest on the show, so we could hear from the woman behind the great K-man, the woman who wakes up to phrases like "have I told you about the immune system?". Would give us a greater insight into Karl, if nothing else.

3:28 interestingly enough, in my personal experience slugs/snails actually aren't very lonely at all. When I lived in Zambia almost, every day if I went to check this certain large rock out, there would be 10-30+ snails all on this one rock and they would always be clambering on top of each other. I always thought it was some kind of "reproductivity party" but after some Googling I'm not really sure what it was.

the point of The Metamorphosis is that you're never actually sure that the main character transforms physically, and it can be argued that it was a psychological change.

Marasma101 I read it too and also didn’t get that as it does have descriptive parts of his body post transformation. The book is so short that I think there’s a lot that you can get from the text.
It is a bit unclear but I'm pretty sure that it says he has a proboscis or something similar.
Unless the narrator is hallucinating both what he sees and the reactions of his family, there is clearly a physical change.

I think you missed the point. They’re atheists, so the original comment was suggesting it was odd to use such an expression. I was merely pointing out that the expression shouldn’t be taken literally. So it’s not a plot twist.

Well it is at least called an insect no? And even if the word "insect" isn't used, the description of it is clear enough. I always figured it was a cockroach myself, but true, it could be a beetle like what Stephen says. What's certain is that it's some sort of insect with a carapace.
