Love the ranking list so easy to understand
As always, great useful videos.
Really appreciate the ranking system and discussion!
Got a floor model ASKO during the pandemic as it was the only panel mount dishwasher available, turned out to be a great dishwasher, the fan really does pull all the moisture out at the end of the cycle and every single part feel solidly made, very expensive feeling parts all around.
Love this style of reviews.
Have had that LG for 8 months and love it.
I'm still an LG skeptic but reliability rating is promising. You guys need to review the filters because some of them (KitchenAid higher end for example) are problematic long term. I'm a believer in old style spin out filters
I really appreciate that you compare a full range of appliances and review a large number of them. It's great to get so much expert information in a single place. I would like it if there were additional pictures of the appliances - inside, etc, while you are discussing them. You're both handsome guys, but more pictures of the appliances would be more helpful. Thanks.
Thank you.....
I agree with OP: watching somebody open and close doors and racks, put in and remove some plates and bowls …
Our dishwasher is good but the bowl racks are oddly spaced - we can only put our bowls in every-other slot - but so far apart that 6 bowls completely fill the front half of the bottom rack.
beautiful presentation. waiting for your take on refrigerators...affordable luxury..thanks
Will upload soon
@@YaleAppliance1Hopefully you'll in lude a review of Sub-Zero.
yessssss@@YaleAppliance1
I've been pleasantly surprised by my LG dishwasher that has the steam function. It's not the quietest dishwasher I've owned, but it cleans better than anything I've had in the last 20 years (GE, Kitchenaid). Hopefully it runs for a long time.
We installed a GE GDT695SSJ4SS about 4.5 years ago. I'm happy with it, but feel that it's a bit louder than when new. Back then it was barely audible while standing in the kitchen. Now, from the living room you can occassionally hear when a solenoid opens.
Bookmarked this video for the day (please God soon) we buy a larger house.
Does the Bosch 800 have the water softener?
We installed a LG (cannot recall the model number and it is running right now so cannot look) and it cleans great but we are not super pleased with the racks.
The bottom rack is hard to move when it is full and often “jumps the track” and is hard to re-track.
I saw a innovative design in a model house where the dishwasher was raised about a foot off the ground. It minimized the bending you have to do when loading/unloading.
we have that displayed in our Dorchester store...great idea if you have the cabinet space
I would enjoy seeing reviews for smaller appliances. I’m curious since we are building an accessory dwelling unit over our garage.
smaller appliances..or small appliances like blenders, etc
@@YaleAppliance1like smaller refrigerators 24 or 30 inches, smaller dishwashers 18 inches etc.
@@JulieOlsenParkCity
I would be interested (just for the content value) in reviews of “plain” small refrigerators, wine fridges, blenders, etc.
Seriously, people buy way more of these in their lives than full size home appliances.
wolf toaster oven better than breville. Turn fan off and on perfect Salmon 425 convection 13 min 6oz fillets
I have a Bosch and the tines are rusting and breaking of of the racks...Is this a known issue or just an issue with my older cheaper model? Its about 7 years old, and was around $600 at that time. Thanks. Great video!
which model?
@@YaleAppliance1 SHX4AT55UC/21 Thanks.
It depends on the model. The cheapest models have a single layer of protection on the racks.
Have a basic Miele dishwasher - it is fantastic except the drying. Also have a Midea dishwasher that is comparable to the Bekos. It is not terrible but would not buy again. The racks are hard to use and already started rusting after 5 years. Will replace with a 5000 series Miele. 3 times the price but worth it for the longetivity.
I have a Miele g 2000 series which is 11 years old and the longevity drives me crazy because I want a newer quieter dishwasher with better drying but I can’t justify the expense until this one dies
I had Bosch for 23 years, and it finally broke. Got another Bosch....
The reliability of my LG has been phenomenal 😀
Would be awesome to see one for double ovens
and we will....
I had a couple people think im crazy for saying that some of the LG dishwashers are actually pretty good, glad to see I'm not that crazy! I dont remember the model off rhe top of my head but my mom has a model similar to this one here, no steam, but does have Quad wash. It has by far been of the the best washing dishwashers i ahve used. The amount of crud and testing i have done with it personally, and it still produces clean dishes, is amazing to me. As long as you use a good detergent, and the correct cycle, they work vwry well. The extra dry reslly does help too, though it does take longer.
Sold one to my neighbor....they love it. BTW, steam works in a dishwasher.
Any word on cove dishwashers? I’ve heard mixed reviews
They are retooling...not many available. Good design, just need to produce at scale
Currently can get the bosch 800 and the lg for the same price what would be your pick then?
Depends on what your local service looks like......I like the Bosch 800
@@YaleAppliance1 local service is neither we leave in the boonies i went with the 800.
Bosch benchmark comparative to the Thermador sapphire?
Benchmark is better
Can’t go wrong with Bosch 800 and Thermador Sapphire dishwashers.
You are paying more for the Miele dishwashers because it lasts up to 20 years. You need to make this clear. I have just replaced my Miele dishwasher after 19 years with a very similar model that you are testing. Used almost everyday. They also use less water and energy. It’s Amazing the new model. It Cleans superbly and you can’t even hear when its on. 😊😊
I like Miele and have one....They may say 20 years but its not in the guarantee
@@YaleAppliance1 yes well, there are no guarantees in life! ( and yes there are “lemons” in every d/w brand!) I will reiterate that Miele d/w ‘s lasts UP to 20 years”! If you look after the machine. And read the manual very carefully!)
@@YaleAppliance1 Thankyou for this stellar review guys!!… and also ignoring retarded demands on how to run your channel! Keep up the all the great work my friends!
Well I’d rather have a new machine every ten years than a 20 year old model no?
@@AlessioSangalliIf it works well and does everything you need, why would you want a new machine???
It does have the square intense. That’s the model it starts on.
Did I miss it when you covered the Cove?
We did a few weeks ago
It might be worthwhile mentioning LGs flat rate repair service that almost seems too good to be true.
3.5% in first year, Bosch is 5.1%, Miele is 6.7%
Had a Samsung. Worked great for a few months. But then they completely refunded my purchase price after FIVE different service techs couldn't figure out why it stopped working. And dealing with their service was a nightmare. Never buying another Samsung appliance.
Although it's more expensive than what I had originally plan to pay, I am leaning toward the Bosch 800 series. Every single review I've seen place them near or at the top while other brands have varied. It will be replacing my old Maytag which was then top of the line, but after its last complete failure which resulted in a flood that had me replacing floors and walls throughout my house, I'm done with Maytag. At this time, I just don't trust LG outside of televisions.
LG makes amazing stuff
@@Ikey04-ge9gy I have a LG dishwasher that keeps throwing AE errors. Supposed to have a service tech out here today, actually. This is the first time I've seen LG recommended as an "S-Tier", but it looks like one of their more expensive models. Mine was $650 rather than $950, so maybe they use better...whatever it is to make it not break down as often? It's thrown 3 AE's in 2023 alone. Have owned it for about 2.5 years now. Obvi out of warranty, so...Looking at replacing with a Bosch 500 after hearing so many sealing and mount failure complaints about the Bosch 800 (otherwise, I'd happily go Bosch 800). *MAYBE* go with a higher end LG dishwasher, but I'm not sold at the moment.
However, I have a LG refrigerator and it works like a champ with no issues what-so-ever. Maybe my dishwasher is a victim of being a "pandemic-era build".
Miele...I have 3 and on the end all have errors and can't be fixed! I try Siemens and Bosch also Neff. Good but ....similar problems and I try finally Bauknecht. Wow. Wow. Wow. What are difference. No more stress situations with servicing Name Miele and similar "quality" dishwashers. Too much cost everything! >Read : astronomic expensive dishwashers without any good.reason for that and without real support. Well....Bauknecht is great in every aspects. 👌 Prices is incredible and quality is with big Q. 😎👍
7:54 Is it just me, or has LG post-pandemic been trying to establish themselves as the Toyota of home appliances? That is to say they have been prioritizing reliability first, even if that comes at the cost of performance and features.
LG is more focused on appliances especially since they are out of phones. They manufacture more of the key components so they survived the pandemic better than most.
@@YaleAppliance1
That’s a good point - they are now what GM and Ford were to the auto industry until the 80s, manufacturing every component in-house.
Nah, they've been reliable for a long time. Before their linear drive compressor issue, I recall that hotels had pooled their appliance repair numbers and Goldstar, which was what LG used to be called, was by far the most reliable and when Sears was still big in appliances their numbers also showed this (it's why they had their Kenmore line be made by LG). It's a shame they've succumbed to moving their manufacturing outside of their country as when they built their linear drive compressors there, they were solid.
@@anfernyjackson9013 LG still makes reliable TV's and computer monitors, but I wouldn't trust them with any other appliance. Same with Samsung, great phones, not so great appliances.
I love this format, but it's readily clear who's the boss and who's the pupil.
I have to ask: Who is who?
Viewers know :) @@YaleAppliance1
I have a hard time to figure out what S A B and C stand for, so the ranking is meaningless.
Anyway, I had a kitchenaid unit, bought in 2013 for about $1500. Many plastic shelf components broke after 3 years. Even worse is that it started leaking after 5 years. I spent about $300 to fix the leak, but 2 years later it started leaking again. So I threw it out. No more kitchenaid for me.
S is the best, followed by A and then B...Didnt understand that myself, but they said it is a common RUclips ranking system
Look up "Tier list" on Wikipedia. It's a subjective rating system from the gaming community. From best > worse | S > F
@@YaleAppliance1 If I am not mistaken the ranking system was popularized by video games, mostly racing games where they would tier the vehicles in that manner.
my KitchenAid started having leak problems just after 3years A lot of money for a product that doesn't last that long
My basic GE with plastic interior and heater element just busted last week motor startéd leaking 1992 model guess i cannot complain this model was under 400.00 Canadian in 1992 i am doubt full any manufacturer makes basic models like this now.
What does the S mean? Just ordered the LG model without the handle. LDPH7972S
S is the best.....
Should be E for EXCELSIOR!
RIP Stan Lee.
You will be surprised with the dishwasher that received a S
😱
what is your comments on bitumen in those ss models.
What about Cove DW2450
What is an "American Style" dishwasher?
Typically uses heated drying and protrudes a bit from the cabinet
Bosch has a plug into a receptacle and it is not hard wired so now you have to get an electrician
Do you have an outlet for the disposal?
A receptacle plug has been the standard for quite some time now
Wondering what "S" stands for?
Means the best....
@@YaleAppliance1 I'm guessing "S" means Superior because the "best" would be a "B". We went with a Miele. We love your reviews!
Dishwashers (and all appliances now) need to be compared by longevity. To have a relatively brand new dishwasher suddenly burn out - it's unacceptable. So tell us which one last the longest. Quality - not fingerprint-free - is what matters most.
We have reliability ratings......2024 will be out in a few weeks
The waterwall's are impossible to work on, and parts are SUPER expensive.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg had a Fisher & Pakel. I have a friend in DC who is a repair man, and he repaired it at the Watergate.
Seriously? That’s an awesomely random “encounter with a notable person of historical significance.”
I would not purchase a dishwasher that has a filter that needs cleaning. I have a new Maytag, has same water cleaning system as the Whirlpool. Continuously cleans the water without extra water usage.
All the reliability percentages you give are within the first year...what about long term? Everyone expects their dishwasher to last at least a year without issues...what about 5 years? or 10 years? Who cares about features and first year service calls if you have to replace it in the next 4 or 5 years.
I wish I could...but everyone calls us for free warranty repair. Most of the problems are within the first year and end of life.
Everyone expects their (appliance) to work perfectly in the first year, but that's not reality, and understanding which brands tend to have more faults / fails in the first year is good information. A brand with 12% first-year service need is less likely to last 10 or 20 years than a brand with 6% first-year service need.
"6.7% repair in the first year, which is nothing" - I lost all hope in humanity.
Maybe you should gain some perspective.
What do you think should be an acceptable failure rate for a product?
5% user error is also normal
Miele A but LG S? ahaha. If you need a dishwasher for a couple of years, you can take an LG
Well, LG has been the most reliable dishwasher over the last three years based on over 100,000 service calls logged by us in less than three years. It also costs $400-1000 less. But Miele is a great dishwasher. Like em both
