Just want to point out since we didn't mention it in the video. This is NOT sponsored at all by anyone. This is purely based on Blakes opinion and his 29 years of experience. Now if any of these brands want to do a sponsorship... 👀
Looking for appliances for a vacation home and Blake’s review was super helpful. We have an Electrolux all refrigerator at our house because we are veggie-voirs and veggies take up lots of room…. I was a little anxious to purchase a brand I wasn’t too familiar with but it has worked out great for us. We had struggled with an old GE side by side for over a decade. One of the best things we did was to change over to an all refrigerator and Electrolux made one of the right size for our finished kitchen. At the same time we replaced the fridge we decided to go with under counter freezers. We love those too. They are by Marvel and have a single door with 3 pull out SS baskets. It is so much more convenient than a side by side with shelving! The only down side is the lack of an ice maker but that was an easy problem to solve…. Blake’s take on the Electrolux brand has matched with our experiences. I really appreciate the video. Thanks for sharing!
I'll trust this gentleman's experience about switches being the most common failure. I'm just surprised. A really long time ago, I worked at a company that made the contacts for electrical switches and they were usually designed to last for many, many thousands of on/offs before failing. Of course, back then you expected an appliance to last no less than 25 years without service. 😊
We owned 2 generations (7 years each) of LG appliances and the 2nd generation quality had plummeted. French Door Fridge was serviced twice for a door condensation leak, the Top-Loading, LG high efficiency washer failed and its replacement was of dismal quality and the clothes dryer had its drum rollers replaced twice. This was a household of “two” people.Brand Name appliances are being manufactured to a cost point and appliance turnover is how they make money.
@@Susan70003 LG fridge have a Iverter Linear compressor that is garbage , and a class action law suit that they lost so keep your receipt for the refrigerator because now you have a 10 year warranty on that compressor from the date you purchased it
Really appreciate this video. As a technician myself, our opinion carries a lot of weight versus any sales person. We have nothing to lose by being honest and sharing our experiences!
I am a technician with 30 years experience. Basically his advice was right on while I would disagree with some of the things. I think he was too generous about how well some of the appliances work. And one of the reasons washers get smelly is because people don’t use hot water. Ive had front loaders for over 20 years and i’ve never had an issue with smell or mildew and i’ve never used any type of cleaner or clean cycle.
Love this! Two cents on LG washer vs. fridge: a VP named Cho in LG Washer division who retired in 2019 was a legend. He devoted his life in LG washing machine division for 20 yrs since graduating high-school. It is unheard for a non-graduate-school-grad , let alone non-college-grad to be a VP in LG. That shows how much of a legend he was, and how much devoted he was to washing machines.
Good for you! Our brand new Bosch dishwasher died one month after it was bought, it was used once a day, or every 2 days! At this moment it is taking 2 weeks for them to repair it, and it is still not repaired! After that a made a review of it on bosch--home web site and they deleted my negative review with some dumb excuses! At the same time they accepted positive review of their refrigerator (unfortunately we bought all home appliances from this company).
I've had a Bosch dishwasher for 20 years and it finally started having cleaning issues. It was very expensive 20 years ago, but I definitely got my monies worth. I loved that machine, it was quite, cleaned great but never fully dried the dishes. It looked great inside and out and I never had a service call. My son in law works for LG and we used his family deal to get a top of the line LG dishwasher with all of the bells and whistles. We have had it about six months now and it works well. I believe it makes a bit more noise than the 20 yr. old Bosch. It still doesn't dry fully, but a bit better than my old Bosch. Which doesn't really even compare since it's 20 years latter in technology? You would think a dishwasher could completely dry the dishes by now. It has a lot of features, wifi, steam, etc. I'm a gadget guy and love utilizing these features. After seeing all of the reviews, I'm a bit worried about the future. I still l have hope this dishwasher will provide many years of service. I really appreciate Blakes opinion, because that is the most valuable to me.
@@brewskisteve20 years! Wow that's great! What brand fridge and range do you own? Mine are coming up on 20 years and I want to upgrade before they kick the bucket on us.

I think we lucked out. We bought a bunch of appliances for our new house in 2012, everything was LG. The washer and dryer works still according to the people who live their now, and they kindly let us take the kitchen stuff back, and the stove and fridge still work with us today... That being said, I think it's because that was a couple years before the South Koreans went crazy with smart IOT garbage. But I will say LG had something going for them. It's a shame we probably won't ever buy from them again in terms of appliances because we've had a mostly positive experience with them. The microwave that we bought for the new place did die within months however and that was meant to be a large fancy, almost commercial one. So I am not shocked now that I've seen this video. I think the dishwasher broke down with the new owners, so it lasted at least 5-7 years before kicking the bucket, which honestly doesn't sound bad but for appliances is kind of a fail. We did end up buying similar washer from that era when we sold the new place. But the dryer and tenant's washer is from the 70's-90's and they still work like new. I think they're Maytag. The one's with coin slots. Those will probably outlive me to be quite honest so long as parts are available.
In Australia the Bosch dishwashers have set on fire due to problems with a circuit board on the control panel, a friends house had the kitchen set on fire as a result. Backup service from the company was average as well, they offered a new dishwasher but didnt knock themselves out wanting to help.
@@markwilliams-ny6tr This happened to my family about 10 years ago to our Bosch dishwasher. There was an electrical fault in the control panel and it ignited in the middle of the night totally on its own. We were able to get a replacement, but that was about it. Apparently there was a recall that wasn't made aware to us.
@@RyanDottery Sorry to hear that, hope the family and your home were all ok. My friend had the kitchen ruined as I said but the worst was all the black smoke that went through other areas and he had to replace carpets, lounge suites and drapery etc. They ended up getting Miele appliances which are way better.
@@markwilliams-ny6tr we also had our Bosch dishwasher on fire in Auckland NZ, also on the control panel. Interested to know someone else had the same issues. I would never buy a Bosch dishwasher as a result!
I sit here watching RUclips waiting for my Frigidaire french door fridge to get delivered today. My wife and I have been worried if we made the right choice. Then this guy praises them and even shows what looks like the exact model we bought on screen as he talks about them. Thank you for calming my nerves!
I have 9 Frigidaire appliances spread across 4 locations: 5 fridge/freezer combos and 4 large freezers that get about 20 below zero F. Three of those locations are vacation rental houses 1000 miles from our primary home. We standardized on Frigidaire because they "just work" and are easy to fix when they don't. Parts like shelving are easy enough to find, as are replacement ice makers. Vacation renters like to terrorize appliances, so this matters to us. The stand up freezers are at our primary home, and hold a lot of food (we homesteaded for a while and I tend to freeze lots of stuff). They stay cold, and if you stick to the the analog models (no digital controls) you can replace thermostats in less time that it takes to empty the machine. The number one problem with those is leaving the door ajar. People think the compressor fails because it won't cool anymore, but real issue is the thermostats burn out from staying on too long (while the door is ajar). Just replace the therm and it's good until you do the dumb thing again.
You made the right choice. We spent $4k on a LG french door bottom drawer, had to replace the linear compressor 3 times in 7 years, the last two times not under warranty though they claim a 10-year warranty we were still stuck with the labor charges. Then recently the slim line ice make decided to quit and the entire motor assembly needed to be replaced.
During my 8 months as an apliance installer for lowes in 2016/17, the most frequently returned and exchanged brand was samsung. The least was whirlpool and GE.
Whirlpool frig, washer and dryer ! Although washer and dryer have some slight issues with screeching/noise. Problem is controller/software timing in both. Controllers are $300 w/o labor. Will run them til they die then buy. Repairman said Whirlpool is still among the best.
I had an LG TROMM front load unit for 13 years that followed me to three houses... the last house it had gone through a flood in the basement, completely submerged... and still ran fine after that. I left it at that house when I moved again though. What I can tell you is that based on the operating costs of the top-load piece of 1800s junk at my new house, which recently broke, that LG saved me over $23,000 in electricity in the 13 years I owned it. I replaced the piece of junk top loader with a new LG front-loader and suddenly my shirt collars are clean again and my electric bill is down by almost $30. Everyone thinks a KilowattQueen is gonna last 30 years but the question should be... do you really want to support it's drinking habit for 30 years of sub-par wash and spin performance? lol
My Neighbor moved in and the old neighbor left practically brand new Speed Queen Washer and dryer. The new neighbor put these out on the curb and said it was some off brand crap he never heard off. I took them and didn’t realize they were such a good brand. The FF7 is hands the best washer.
@@futball24 Your new neighbor had never been to a laundromat? Speed Queen owns the commercial business. My mom had a Speed Queen when I was growing up. It never broke down. She finally replaced it when we moved out because she wanted to remodel and have an updated looking unit.
@@futball24 That’s amusing… Unlike your neighbor I want the ‘old technology,’ especially when it comes to cars. It’s literally impossible for GenZers and Millennials to steal a manual tranny! 😂. Congratulations on your intelligent curb shopping, saved yourself some major money there. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love my Speed Queen washer. I don't get why anyone would want a front-loader. Why not use gravity to your advantage with a top loader, vs have a washer w/ seals that collect mildew? Simple is best. Stainless steel drum won't break. I've got a SQ from 2012. No computer motherboards that can break. Plus, I like being to control the amount of water I use, and am fine spending more on electricity. Set the price, let me pay for it. High Efficiency isn't always preferable.
Loved this, it's like a repair guy uncle just spitballin' about his job and what you should be buying for your house. Straight talk without trying to sell me something. That's how you get me to buy something from you. Good luck in your lives and careers and thanks for taking care of our appliances!
Best video I've watched in quite a while. Thank you! You got to the point, named names, and gave us all something we can take to the bank.A repairman of 29 years is who I want to hear recommendations from. Again, many thanks....
I bought a Bosch dishwasher based on a repairman’s suggestion. It took some time to get used to and I had to get creative with how I loaded things, but it’s by far my favorite appliance in my house.
@@medoelkholy1507 sorry, a dishwasher. It really is an amazing product and easy to maintain. I clean out the filter weekly and wipe down the inside with some dish soap and vinegar water especially on door. I’ve never had issues with odors or any malfunctioning. I consistently use Finish Quantum packs and once and a while I use the Finish dishwasher cleaner (maybe 3 x’s year?)
@@mikede2464 it is something I had to adjust to, and at first I thought I’d made a mistake. I’ve had it about 5 years, no issues, just keep it clean and it never fails me. I do spray Dawn power wash on stainless steel pans first if anything is “burnt” on though. That is the only thing the washer can’t fully remove is black marks inside those.
Great video! An appliance guy told me years ago: * Don't get a fridge with an in the door ice dispenser, and if you have any fridge with an ice maker, don't use it. Turn it off and buy your ice bagged from Costco and put it in your ice bin. Took his advice. Our GE fridge is 20 years old and not one service call. The appliance guy also told me ice makers are the number one reason for damaged hardwood floors, due to leaks. So if you have hardwood, all the more reason to turn off that ice maker. * Bosch is the best dishwasher. We have had two Bosch in 20 years. That's pretty good, I think. * Never use the self clean on your oven. It fries the electronics. I didn't listen on this one, and sure enough, fried the motherboard. When we bought a new oven, we decided to only clean by hand.. It's a pain. but it's been 12 years and counting. Not one service call. He did not tell me about the microwave, though. So thank you for that advice.
The one thing that I have heard consistently from repair men and videos like this, is that you want to have your icemaker be in its natural environment: the freezer area. So you will basically need a side-by-side if you want an in-door icemaker. Otherwise, just get the one at the bottom that you need to scoop out the ice. Even better is if you have an icemaker as a separate appliance altogether if you have the space.
I’m seriously considering doing that if we have to replace our current side by side. We go through a lot of ice here in Oklahoma especially during the summer.
Ditto! Ice-maker needs to be in the freezer is all I've heard when researching appliances also. We have a Whirlpool side-by-side (ice-maker in freezer) and it has lasted for a very long time without need of any repairs....knock on wood
Yea, if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't have bought a french door with water/ice in the top since there was ice on the bottom. We have a whole house filter anyway - I just didn't realize it at the time when we were buying the house. One of the things the previous owners forgot to tell us. The tap water is excellent with that.
Fully Agree, we have french doors with bottom freezer and the ice maker is in the freezer and the ice falls in a bin. Takes an extra second to scoop your ice but hasn't failed in over 10 years!
I definitely agree. I know Samsung gets a lot of hate in the refrigerator market, but I got a barebones side-by-side with no fancy features about 5 years ago. The ice maker is in the freezer, and it only has 3 settings water, cubed, and crushed. So far it has been rock solid and has given me no problems, and with 4 to 5 people in the house we go through some ice.
One thing I would add to the ice maker side is if it’s in the fridge area, it’s going to fail or cause problems even more often. Avoid ice makers that aren’t in the freezer
Our LG fridge has had problems but not with its too ice makers, we use the one in the door and its only problem is that the ice clumps up so we pound lightly the plastic clear ice compartment occasionally to loosen up the ice then it works great. Our LG fridge is about almost ten years old and has the compressor replaced and had a problem with defroster in our bottom fridge failing but the cost of repairs was less than a new fridge and it has been a solid performer ever since the repairs. The technician removed back lower cover in rear of fridge for ventilation and added a few bricks for spacing against back wall for better cooling of fridge which seems to work well.
@@petie40 Kinda same issue with ice in most frigs ice containers. Wife will open freezer door to get ice. I use door dispenser so agitator to keep ice broke up.
Having different appliances over the years when you get to a certain age you’ve seen and tried just about everything. I have to agree with you. Great job.
We have 16 year old whirlpool front door washer dryer and still running like champ. Never ever had any issues. We joke that we have taken it for granted.
I’ve been in business 29 years next month, and we share some of the same thoughts. I only recommend Bosch dishwashers and Speed Queen laundry equipment. The LG top loader washers are good too. I don’t see them for service until about the 10 year mark. The GE top load washer is another story all together. Their transmissions leak oil within the first year of service. And the newly mandated R600a is problematic to say the least. I’ve diagnosed about a dozen refrigerators using it, all less than a year old, with locked up compressors.
I was a kitchen and bath remodeler for 25 years, got asked a million times what appliances should I buy... I gave them my appliance guys card & told them "he'll guide you based on your needs & he'll give you a good discount", he always did and I always came out looking like a champ!... Oh and I was always a simple Whirlpool guy... washers, dryers, dishwashers & refrigerators, in 50 years of use, I've only gone through two sets of each, still on the second set!
The oldest appliance in our home is a Whirpool microwave. It's over 27 years old, we use it daily, and it just works really well. And we open it many times before it finishes and never had any issuses with the contacts! (Though now that I know, I'll try to take a better care)
I have Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen and am replacing them with more Whirlpool appliances. I have Commercial Quality GE washer and dryer though. Better standard warranty and higher quality parts throughout. Also cost me $1000 each
our fairly old Bosch dishwasher was the home MVP during Covid lockdown. It got run a lot more than usual, and handled it like a champ. It’s a bit loud compared to more recent dishwashers, but I’m glad to see it still running
I can attest to the LG fridge sucking, ours gave out around the 6/7 year mark. Same goes for the LG washing machine, the dryer was about to go too but we met a clever repairman who was able to save it.
bummer I really want that LG twin wash with side kick. But anyhoo same with Samsung. Our first Samsung fridge bought 2010 freezer started leaking 5½ years in. On and off repair we've had enough and retired it last year. Our 2nd Samsung bought Dec 2011 fridge started leaking Dec 2023 exactly 12 years later. Freezer is fine but we'll replace it with a local brand in my country as first choice. 2nd choice is Panasonic. 2010 cheap Samsung started not working 2017. Could still be repaired.
We are fortunate to have the same washer and dryer purchased in 1999....Kenmore! Never had an issue to this date. When they fail (and we sure got our use and money's worth) we will replace with SpeedQueen...
We had a cheap Kenmore super capacity dryer and I loved that thing. I only had to replace the switch which was my fault for being rough on it but I fixed it myself with the help of RUclips. I had a front load LG washer - and my kenmore dryer that I wouldn’t give up. I think we paid $350 brand new and it ran like a champ and could fit huge comforters. we sold our home but I wish I would’ve brought it with me.
I've personally been using a Samsung front loading washing machine and have been really happy with it! Always leave the door open after a wash and run the drum cleaning cycle every few months.
Thank you! Years ago when I had an appliance repairman out for a refrigerator, I asked him which brands in which appliances were the best.... meaning having the least problems, and doing the best job. He said whichever manufacturer first invented the appliance, seemed to do the best.... while all the others were playing catch up. I can't remember which ones he recommended, but THIS recording is going to be my go-to for all the new appliances I need to order for a new home. THANK YOU again!
Great video. Thanks. We have a Bosch diswasher. It cleans well as you mentioned. The problem we have had is with the rack tines rusting. Another problem we had is with customer service. In our previous Bosch diswasher when the racks started rusting, we called and had the "obligatory" long delay in getting to discuss the problem with someone. The CSR said we could purchase new racks for $500!!!! We said that we might as well purchase a new one. We did. In less than four years, the racks were rusting again. We called and the CSR said they would get back with us. Three months later, they said we could purchase new racks for half price, which ended up being about $100 (our price). We asked why on the previous model the CSR wanted to charge us $500? The CSR replied, because we charge back to the customer the cost of storage. The model you had was a certain age, and so we charge for the part, and the cost we incur for storing it. What a crock of crap.
I think the thing with the ice makers isn't just the harsh environment but that water all over the world is extremely varied in quality and cleanliness. Even in the US, there are a lot of variations with mineral content so those minerals are building up in the lines, around the electrical components, and mechanical parts.
I like the cheapest GE appliances with the least options. I’ve never had a failure. Also, I worked for a general contractor/developer who bought only GE appliances, and has had hundreds of rentals since the 1970’s and we’d maybe replace 1-2 per year if that.
My #1 failure reason on microwaves = weak, crumbling plastic parts. If you ever have to take a screw out of that plastic, it just falls apart. SO COMMON. Especially over-the-range Frigidaires. Cheapness elevated to the highest level. My long and varied experience with LG washers and Bosch dishwashers agrees with the video. They work great and are amazingly trouble-free.
I 100% agree on the Bosch Dishwasher being the best. I bought a stainless inside and out 3 years ago. Easy to install myself and it was so quiet when running I thought it wasn't on. Cleans well too. Was $700 at Lowes in 2020. Totally happy with it.
@@wildhorses6817 Honestly, I forget. I am slowly getting a Horder out of my home so I can't seem to find the users manual at the moment and it just says Bosch on the unit. Maybe the price would help?
Miele washers and dryers in Europe used to come with a 10-year warranty, and they would last much longer. My washer spun at 1600 RPM, and clothes would come out just damp. Miele is expensive, but good for people who hate having things break. I totally agree on the Bosch dishwasher. I haven't bought either in the US, so they might be different.
This is outdated information. They now use self-destructive material for the "crest" holding the drum. They will argue that you've used wrong powder or water ph was not right. It used to be stainless steel - now cheap aluminium alloy. BTW 10 years is probably myth: at least in my country it covers only engine; so really it is just 3 years which is nothing.
@@АгронДепартье Dude, my Mum's recent Miele washer has a full Metal Drum casing! It fully depends what you pay. And just for your Info: All the other manufacturers have plastic instead of metal, where Miele has reinforced Metal parts. And how does ph/detergend play a role in drum enclosure or -anchoring?
@@Elektrotechniker Guy, you can't see the drum holder without disassembling the machine. The drum holder is between the drum and drumcase (that can be plastic as it typically doesn't cause problems). The drum holder is attached at the back of the drum and holds the axis. May be my English is not good enough...
why spend $10k on a washer dryer though? just buy a used whirlpool from 2000s I got mine second hand it lasted the first guy 10 years and it's lasting me 10 years maybe over more
I bought my Kenmore refrigerator back in 2003 and it quit working in 2019. Whirlpool was making refrigerators for Sears back then. I saw a Whirlpool refrigerator at the store than was on sale and it looked pretty much like my old Sears refrigerator. The ice maker looks slightly different and the controls in the newer refrigerator has digital control buttons. But it has been running just fine. I had read a lot of reviews and I had the impression that Samsung refrigerators have a lot of features but they don’t seem to last as long. I read about the LG issues also. My Whirlpool isn’t fancy but it looks nice and it works. It’s good information that he gave out about the microwave switches. The makers who put the pause feature on their machines should have explain why the that control feature is there.
I've had a Bosch dishwasher for three years and it's performance is flawless. It does nee to be cleaned periodically and the filter should be scrubbed at least monthly. We like it so much we recently bought a Bosch gas stove.
I consulted Consumer Reports when I bought my last dishwasher and washing machine. Spot on with your recommendations. Bosch dishwasher and LG washer. Both have worked great. I must be an outlier as a wife. When my washer broke, I just bought a new one. I didn’t care that it didn’t match my dryer, except that they are both white. Thanks for the great info!!
Thank you! I'm in the beginning stages of looking for new appliances for my mother's house. They are all ancient and some are barely functioning, so this was good and timely information.
I swear by Maytag (Whirlpool) and I have not yet to be disappointed. I could even tell by the care they took into packaging that the Maytag was a superior product.
Excellent video!! I didn’t know that pulling a microwave door open to stop it was hard on the switch. I have been doing this because of the annoying loud 5 beeps when the timer reaches zero. Most models don’t have an option to turn off the sound. So, when I wanted to avoid waking up my family in the early morning, I’ve been yanking on the door.
Thank you, Blake. Really appreciate your honest reviews. I can confirm for two appliances we have his recommendation: GE refrigerator 25 years old accept the light bulb issue, runs without problems. LG top load and dryer no issues. You should tell everyone to level it once in a while. If it is not leveled correctly it'll not turn on. We had that issue and called several technicians. One came to have a look at it, and told us that a part($150) needs to be replaced due to a disconnect behind the start button. I found the same recommendations on youtube, which was a reason to trust the diagnostic. Since the cost seemed high, my husband wanted to try it before ordering the part. The reason why I'm letting everyone know is that the other two technicians said the similar things "Oh, LG washers are having issues and are not reliable". My husband found no issues with the parts. Leveled it and low and behold, it was working by the slightest touch. Now, searching for our Dishwasher problem, I see that you are given your honest recommendations. Other reviews on this channel are true as well. Thank you so much! Love your channel.
Just had a Frigidaire French door delivered today. I like it so far. I’ve had a LG front loader for 5 years and I love it. Keep the door cracked and run affresh clean cycle every 30 loads. No smell cleans great!
Use powdered laundry soap in the front loaders and they wont get stinky. I switched years ago and never had a problem with bad smells again. I dont do any special cleaning and leave the door closed most of the time. Great video!
The powdered detergent sticks in the dispensing trays - it never clears out of the tray after a cycle so no to powdered detergent. I throw oxy clean directly in the tub before the cycle for this reason or I dissolve it in water first. Lg front loader. I love my washer but no to powdered detergent t and my washer never smells. I’ve had it for 12 years. Leave the door ajar to let it dry out and do the clean cycle with bleach once a month. I’ve never had any issues with any odors and with 6 dogs in my house I’m washing bedding all the time.
yes, I use powder for regular wash and liquid for woollens, After reading horror stories before buying my current Asko, made in Slovenia (previous one lasted 18yrs, top model of the day, made in Sweden) I always remove the soap dispenser to let it dry and leave the door ajar, the door closes without rubber bellows - no mould or funny smells, both parts of drum are stainless steel, drum supported on 4 shock absorbers. No special cleaning program needed during the last 6 years. fastest. Spin cycle is noisy but works well. Asko Dishwasher lasted over 20 years and failed in a recent power surge.
Leaving the door closed is how you get tons of mold in there and it has nothing to do with the type of detergent you're using. I imagine your washing machine is disgusting
I have a 45 year old Maytag A806 washing machine second hand 10 years ago and in the entire time I had it there were 2 breakdowns. A dried up broken hose and leaking water pump. Replaced both myself and was fairly easy with minimal tools. I change the belts every so often and the damper pads and that is all the service. It is very gentle on the clothes. They do not make them like this anymore!! Never plan on getting rid of it. In fact it has outlasted 2 newer dryers.
I have had my late mother's old Maytag from 1980 for the last 15 years. Had a couple of $150-200 repairs in last 8 years, and three weeks ago had it finally flood my kitchen, laundry and family room. It served us well for 44 years, and now I am getting a new kitchen courtesy of my home owners insurance. So even when Maytags fail you can win!!
Thank you so much! We moved into a house with a Bosch dishwasher and it didn't clean as well as the GE we left behind. But it was 15 years old. We switched out to a Miele and would never do that again -- the water funnel attached under the top tray comes off all the time and you REALLY have to use their detergent. Any other dishwashing soap left a terrible film and the stench opening up the dishwasher was sewer level! The salesman warned us it would be best to use their own detergent but I thought it was just sales. He didn't explain why. We found the sewage stench was a common thing with Miele. Their dishwasher pellets are industrial strength, I'm a little afraid of it to be honest but it finally doesn't stink and the glasses are very clean. I'm going to look at Bosch again though, thanks!
Excellent summary of appliances. One thing to inform viewers is that in many appliances the top and bottom of the line are the same unit inside. I have bottom of the line $525, Bosh dishwasher and according the the online parts manuals the mechanical parts are interchangeable with the $1300 top of line. You get no more reliability with price.
Thanks so much for for leading with the microwaves, I really appreciate the tip on opening the door while still in operation. Since the locks are heavy duty plastic I never associate the contacts to be arcing. Does this still hold true with the press to release door opener? I have the older Maytag (5100 AAB) 2001, Made in Cleveland, OH, it's a 1000 W. I compensate for cooking today's recommended cooking time by pressing the 30 sec. feature. The range is the MGR 5770 Super Capacity Plus, the dishwasher is the Jet Clean Quiet Pack III. All are in as new condition, most visitors ask where can they buy these models. Little do they realize that they are over 20 years old. Then again that's when quality and durability were the best features. I agree with you on front loaders, I prefer the LG because of it's direct drive motor and the handle is part of the door, so it won't break off. Thanks for sharing your opinion and experience with us.
Our repairman gave us similar advice on brands and features on the appliances you mentioned. He did say Bosch DW parts were especially hard to get even before 2020. He recommended the Whirlpool. We actually love our KAaide, which is made by whirlpool. Less $$$ than the Bosch, too. No matter what brand of DW one gets my best tip for preserving the plastic parts and dishes is to not use the heated dry cycle. Open and let the dishes air dry. I have replaced most of our plastic storage with glass or stainless steel containers. This also helps the drying process.
You are so right about not using the heated drying cycle. I open the door of my GE dishwasher & pull the racks out. I check for water pooling on top of cups & stuff. Within +/- an hour the dishes are dry & spot free. I even put large plastic items on the lower rack without damage by using this method.
Thank you so much for the advice. It makes sense why the plastic on my refrigerator is falling apart. I used heated drying. I will have to replace and start opening door instead.
Bottom of frig freezers sound great, but things get piled on top of each other. Same problem when we had a small chest freezer. Threw away too much frozen stuff at bottom. Bought an upright freezer, best thing ever !
I know several people that bought front loading washer / dryer and absolutely hate them because of the mold issues they run into if you don’t maintain them like he said in the video of airing them out and running bleach cycle once in a while to clean it out.
Son works for a insurance company and says to avoid G/E as they get a horrid number of repair requests on those. This is the coast markets. California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho market.
I’ve read good and bad reviews about literally every single brand of appliance. I think you take a chance with any brand you purchase. Unless there’s a serious number of failures for a certain brand or model then you’re taking a chance either way. If you want to avoid fridge issues, get a very plain Jane fridge. Want an icemaker? Get a separate counter top ice maker.
Thanks for the information. Went washer shopping today at a Mom & Pop local store that does both sales & service & was told exactly the same about the top loaders. I'm always suspicious when shopping to be recommended the most expensive thing that I'm looking for. But I do realize when you own your own business, you do strive for satisfied customers unlike a big box store that couldn't care less. Still undecided between the Speed Queen & LG at the moment.
Most technicians will tell you to pick the Speed Queen without question and we would agree if you have the budget for it. Usually, Speed Queens are the more expensive top-load options, but it's because they are using high-quality parts that last. I'm sure you will be happy either way as LG makes good washing machines. Good luck with your purchase!
Thank you Blake, you have realty helped me make a choice to repair my Electrolux Washer that was in storage for 9 years instead of buying something new.
7:04 I watched a video that explained that side by side refrigerators are the best if you want to purchase a fridge with an ice maker. The french door refrigerators have the most issues because the ice maker is located inside the refrigerator and it creates a lot of unnecessary mist and condensation. The mist can freeze on parts of the ice maker that allow it to work properly. I have a Samsung fridge and had this exact issue. They apparently have a class action lawsuit going on due to their faulty ice makers.
You're one smart repair person. Thank you. I watched this twice and showed my husband . I'm fighting with GE because my side by side is doing a good job. Three repair visits. All said there's an air leak, but I can't find it. I want to go back to French doors!!
Did you have any experience with Miele washing machines or Liebherr refrigerators? Those two are top of the class in my opinion and I was expecting at least one to be mentioned :)
So glad to hear about Bosch; that's what I keep seeing online, and I have a friend who loves hers. That's our plan. For our needs, we basically found a particular French door/dual bottom freezer LG that works for us, but I'm leery about it now. :( I bought the Bravos Maytag washer/dryer, which again, suited my very specific needs (eg disability and short). I wish the washer had a buzzer when it finishes; a little plastic piece broke where you remove the detergent holder to empty water out, but it still works. I have trouble loading it so that it washes properly--comforters end up with a dry spot in the middle (top loading, impeller style). Once I actually watched it clean, I feel like too much laundry is sticking out of the water, using so little water. I now use specific higher-water level cycles now instead of letting it decide how much to use. I was very happy with them for a while, now, 5.5 years later, less so, but they're still functional.
LG refined the linear compressor in their refrigerators according to Yale Appliance and their blog LG for the past two years have been most reliable refrigerators from their own repair records. We just bought an LG refrigerator with the new linear compressor.
@@mustangecoboosthpp3869 I just got it delivered Tuesday (mid July) after ordering in April. Makes me wonder if such an order back up was due to making changes. Funny that the entire time the home improvement stores said it would be delivered in like 3 days before you order. It only changes the fulfillment date the day after ordering.
I have a bosch dishwasher, LG washer, Hitashi fridge (no ice maker) and frigidaire gas range and they have served me well in the past 5 years. LG washer lock button broke and changed it for 15$ and literally that is it. I am truly lucky and amazed by the built quality of those appliances and would definitely buy them again.
@@johnnys249 f0k6dmk2s2 2 in 1 washer + dryer inverter direct drive 14kg wash / 8kg dry Used on daily basis and multiple times a day even. Only maintenance needed is to clean lint and empty water from bottom tray. I guess some sort of condensate from drying or something. Super easy though. There is wifi where you can custom make your wash or download some from the web. Never needed that. Plenty of options on the washer already. Hope this helps. Also: i bought this in Kuwait so it may be a Middle East special version but I am sure a european or us version of it exists with similar features. Cost around $650 in 2018.
Look up LG dryer problems on RUclips. You’ll find all kinds of repair videos. Search “LG dryer overheating” trust me you’ll get lots of hits. I love my LG washer though. I’ll never buy LG again though.
LG Fridges: I have a KENMORE (old sears) branded LG that is 20 years old, still going! I only recently got another LG bottom freezer (slider) top 1-door fridge, because I wanted more room and fridge on top. So can't complain about LG, but I'm buying the very basic simple ones.
I had a Bosch dishwasher for my former house. It was the best dishwasher among all that I had. I have a Whirlpool dishwasher in this house, it is okay but it does not clean as well as the Bosch. I have both LG washer and bottom freezer refrigerator for about 9 years without any problem and I love them.
Im getting an LG washer dryer set delivered from Costco in a few hours. Glad to hear its in the top category in front load washers (and dryer). Our Whirlpool washer that came with the house when we bought last September went ka-put so we've been without a washer for about a month.
Just in the process of buying a new set from Costco. How do you like your LG set and which set did you get, if you don't mind me asking. Having trouble deciding.
If you are stacking them I hope your dryer vent is higher than the vent hose. Otherwise good luck. Mine overheated constantly, they even changed out the motherboard and it still overheated. I had a contractor remodel my exhaust on my home so that it vents higher than the dryer vent. No more issues. I love my LG washer but I hate the dryer.
I can say that I have a Bosch dishwasher and LOVE it. Super quiet, cleans really well. I also got a Bosch induction cooktop. I bought a Samsung Fridge based on appearance/function and had a problem with the ice maker at the 5 year mark. That fridge is 10 years old now and if I replace it I will be looking at a different brand (and one of the ones recommended in this video!). My wall oven is Kitchenaid... I didn't hear this brand mentioned at all and wonder your opinion @BoulevardHome? It's 20 years old so far and still a workhorse. My washer/dryer are LG, also about 10 years old and still going strong, I would replace with the same in the future, great to know you recommend them!
Great advice, I never thought about the switches in the microwave arching when opening the door, I'll stop doing that, I did buy a side by side lg refrigerator with the linear inverter compressor, I must have read somewhere about side by side being more reliable than freezer on bottom, didn't learn about the lg refrigerator issues until after purchase,we will see how reliable it is in time
I have a cheap, no frills GE frig/freezer which is now nearly 30 years old and it has never had a problem. I also have a 35 year old Kenmore dryer that stills runs fine even after being flooded and allowed to dry out.
We went with all GE Profile kitchen appliances and have been very happy with them..The French door bottom freezer did crap out after 3 yrs but the Profile models have a 5 yr factory warranty on motor, compressor and all cooling lines so it was replaced (not repaired) by the factory...
We have the same. Got rid of the fridge bc it was ineffective storage compared to our Samsung. The microwave stopped working. The dishwasher isn’t efficient.
I have me a 2012 Frigidaire/Electrolux top freezer fridge that still works well. I recently removed the ice maker, because I never use it. My washer and dryer are GE 2008 models. They work well, also. I recently replaced my dishwasher with a GE, and replaced my Whirlpool over the range microwave with another one. My electric cooktop is 2008 GE, and my wall oven is a 2008 Whirlpool. I hope for many more years of use.
I have a 19-year-old frigidaire side by side everything on it still works great but I'm starting to look around for a replacement even if I don't need it for a while. I'm starting to get the one morning all the food thawed twitches🥵
We've had the Bosch 300 series for a few years now and It's impossible to imagine a better dishwasher. It cleans everything remarkably well. It's so quiet that sometimes I check to make sure it's on. I can truly say that along with a Sunbeam radiant control Toaster from the 1950s, they are the only two appliances I would say are in a class of their own.
I own a Bosch dishwasher, and agree. It's the best. It does however have one major weakness, which can easily be mitigated by the user; CLEAN THE FOOD TRAP MONTHLY. For the first 3yrs, while Bosch makes it clear it needs to be cleaned regularly, when I visually looked at it, there was nothing in there. BUT, it was actually filthy as it traps food broken down to microscopic size. The pump on my Bosch failed in yr 3 because I didnt clean out the trap regularily. When I cleaned the food trap it was absolutely filled with microscopic food particles, so much so, it clogged my sink's food trap. Again, the trap visually didnt appear dirty but in actuality it was filthy clogged, a function of just how well the Bosch cleans dishes. So clean it out monthly. You'll be surprised.
Thank you, this was excellent! so much good information based on practical experience. Maybe an annual update with production changes and updates would be a good addition?
I've had my matching Electrolux washer and dryer set for almost 2 years and have had zero problems. I like the front loaders from a water consumption standpoint and, even though they're gentler on clothes, they seem to do a better job getting them clean. My only complaint is with the dry. The auto (sensor) dry does not work well at all. Even set to the max, the clothes always come out a little damp. This isn't unique to Electrolux either: every auto dry dryer I've used seems to do the same thing.
I was sick of the smell of my clothes from front loader and complained all the time. My husband gave in about 4 years ago and we purchased a top loader Speed Queen. It was the best purchase we’ve ever made including cars, tv’s and everything. I’m truly happy with my washer. Do not use fabric softener, gunk will build up and I noticed this early in the agitator. My only con is this, I mix my detergent and water a little bit before adding clothes, if I walk away and forget it’s filling, I will end up running a empty load, purely my fault. Also I like to add clothes later but it locks once it’s filled, so you have to pause it before it unlocks.
Their classic models are their old-school design and don't have the lid locks. That feature alone (they were the last to change, then quickly brought it back as the 'classic' model) sold MANY Speed Queen machines at my last job over the years.
Several years ago, my mom bought a new front-load washer, but didn't buy the matching dryer, since it was still working fine. However, the new washer has a 5CuFt drum, whereas the old one was 2.5CuFt; the dryer is 5CuFt.
I have an LG refrigerator. I love it. It was the most recommended model from consumer reports that year. It’s going on 6 years no problems. Most appliances differ in reliability model to model. Brand reliability is almost non existent nowadays. Generally the less bells and whistles you get the more reliable it will be.
11 years going strong with my LG French Door Refrigerator. ZERO problems! It's past the 10 year warranty now. Will buy another LG refrigerator in the future based on my experience!
My LG French door refrigerator freezer is 6 years old and has been brilliant. We live in a humid tropical environment and I was a bit concerned when we bought it as it wasn’t cheap but so far it’s been faultless.
@@PJD_55 the refrigeration part is fine, if a bit noisy. It’s the quality of materials that I’m complaining about. The water and ice features are practically inoperable because all the plastic components, screws, and springs have broken off.
Appliance tech here. I’ve seen Frigidaire refrigerators giving me a ton of headaches with Yoder loop issues and sealed system issues the past 6 months. Been getting my tail whipped with em recently. Hopefully they’ll bounce back, usually not a problem and great units. LG and Samsung is iffy. Speed Queen is an absolute beast (but they still break). If you don’t have that extra dollar, I’d go with a whirlpool brand top load or Electrolux for front load. Everything else is pretty much just personal preference. Great video boss man.
Just want to point out since we didn't mention it in the video. This is NOT sponsored at all by anyone. This is purely based on Blakes opinion and his 29 years of experience. Now if any of these brands want to do a sponsorship... 👀
appreciate for sharing facts
So appreciated 👍
avoid LG and samsung and GE.
they all same compressors which are all made by samsung....
I do miss one thing from this video -> presentation of the appliances which are used by Blake at his home ;)
I never knew that microwave switches wore out when opening while running. Good advice.
I think some microwaves might be turning off the magnetron a few seconds early to get ahead of this issue
@@Werdna12345 I agree. My door switches went bad. Repaired for 20 bucks.
Apparently, my mom knew this back in the 80s because she still has her GE microwave from the mid or late 80s. What a machine!
Very wrong actually, most of them use relays
Such a great unbiased video. It's great to hear a repair guy say "LG makes a great washer but their fridges suck"... True honesty. Thank you!
So which fridge brand do u choose?
We owned 2 generations (7 years each) of LG appliances and the 2nd generation quality had plummeted. French Door Fridge was serviced twice for a door condensation leak, the Top-Loading, LG high efficiency washer failed and its replacement was of dismal quality and the clothes dryer had its drum rollers replaced twice. This was a household of “two” people.Brand Name appliances are being manufactured to a cost point and appliance turnover is how they make money.
2 daughters have big LG French doors. They run fine. One is 10-12 years old. One is 2 years old.

If people buy less products that breaks down less thanks to such advice. Then aren't you loosing money?
Don't listen to sales people at all.

What a cool fact, thanks for sharing!
We need this guy back, not some corporate bean counter who cheapens everything out
cool,,didnt know i could cook in my washer,,thanks!
We've had our BOSCH dishwasher for 16 years now. ZERO problems. Quiet. Looks like new inside and out.

Miele are also incredible....but more expensive. Basically, anything German.
In Australia the Bosch dishwashers have set on fire due to problems with a circuit board on the control panel, a friends house had the kitchen set on fire as a result.

Whirlpool fridge/freezer going strong 30 years
Just bought an Electrolux washer yesterday, it is not even delivered yet. So happy to hear that we made the right choice.
Hi would like to know what model you purchased ? Thank you for your time.
We loved our fridgidaire French door! We sold it with the house. That was a superb refrigerator!
I just got mine Sunday, and I absolutely love it!!
Very helpful information, thank you for sharing!
Whirlpool frig, washer and dryer ! Although washer and dryer have some slight issues with screeching/noise. Problem is controller/software timing in both. Controllers are $300 w/o labor. Will run them til they die then buy. Repairman said Whirlpool is still among the best.
Great information!😊
SpeedQueen classic top loader, still going 15+ years.. best thing i have ever owned.

Great video! An appliance guy told me years ago:
* Don't get a fridge with an in the door ice dispenser, and if you have any fridge with an ice maker, don't use it.
The dryer decision was simply the best advise ever, he knows appliances and woman 🎉
THIS 100%
Our LG fridge has had problems but not with its too ice makers, we use the one in the door and its only problem is that the ice clumps up so we pound lightly the plastic clear ice compartment occasionally to loosen up the ice then it works great.
Yes Whirlpool is the standard for me in almost all appliances. I have Whirlpool everything with very few problems.
You actually stayed home during covid? What a tool.
Listening to this advice has helped me greatly. The microwave information was very good. Thanks!
By far, the BEST truly non-biased appliance review!
Tysm for making this an easier process for selecting new machines
We're so glad to hear that! We do our best to provide non-biased, informative videos. Thanks for watching!
Have a 14 yr old LG french door bottom freezer. Bought it used and its been amazing. Ice maker broke but I can live with that.
Speed Queen is super expensive
I’m watching this video because my 2002 Kenmore washer finally 💩 the bed
Glad the video helped! Thanks for watching!
I have watched so many videos like this and this is by far the most informative. Thanks for the info Blake! You Rock!!
Got speed queen dc5 and tc5 on our new house, and a Frigidaire gallery French door bottom freezer. Glad to hear we chose well.
Customer service is everything to me so Bosch is crossed off my list. I’d be so pissed!
I think the thing with the ice makers isn't just the harsh environment but that water all over the world is extremely varied in quality and cleanliness. Even in the US, there are a lot of variations with mineral content so those minerals are building up in the lines, around the electrical components, and mechanical parts.
Thats a great point! Thanks for sharing.
Yup, was looking for a comment about this. Our door handle cracked on our above the range microwave and it costs too much replace!
I 100% agree on the Bosch Dishwasher being the best. I bought a stainless inside and out 3 years ago. Easy to install myself and it was so quiet when running I thought it wasn't on. Cleans well too. Was $700 at Lowes in 2020. Totally happy with it.
500 or 800 Series ? Thanks
@@wildhorses6817 Honestly, I forget. I am slowly getting a Horder out of my home so I can't seem to find the users manual at the moment and it just says Bosch on the unit. Maybe the price would help?
sounds like you have some fun stories to tell! 🤣@@halohat2286
Just made that same comment! Miele is serious stuff, their dishwasher held up for more than 10 years in a family of 4. same with our fridge!
Kitchen aid way better
We love our Bosch too! Replaced a Kitchen Aid with it that wasn’t cleaning our dishes at all.
We love our Bosch too! Replaced a Kitchen Aid with it that wasn’t cleaning our dishes at all.
Ditto on the Bosch! Great dishwasher and glad you're enjoying yours!
I’m at 16 yrs with our Bosch. Going strong.
This video gave me some peace of mind as I just bought a bunch of appliances for my rental property. Thank you!
25 years for my maytag stackable. Still going strong. 2 repairs. A dryer belt. And a switch for the washer lid. 😮😊
haha. one prob i had was dryer belt and now a washer lid bracket. theyre old and not Maytag but still ironic.
I swear by Maytag (Whirlpool) and I have not yet to be disappointed. I could even tell by the care they took into packaging that the Maytag was a superior product.
also orders of magnitude less efficient than today's products
Excellent video!! I didn’t know that pulling a microwave door open to stop it was hard on the switch. I have been doing this because of the annoying loud 5 beeps when the timer reaches zero. Most models don’t have an option to turn off the sound. So, when I wanted to avoid waking up my family in the early morning, I’ve been yanking on the door.
I totally understand that! Microwaves can be super annoying, especially when you're trying to be quiet. Glad that the video was helpful!
Thank you for all those kind words! Glad that we can provide helpful and informative content.
Just had a Frigidaire French door delivered today. I like it so far. I’ve had a LG front loader for 5 years and I love it. Keep the door cracked and run affresh clean cycle every 30 loads. No smell cleans great!
Thanks Blake, nice to hear some non biased reviews. We appreciate the help and it will help determine our purchase.
Glad we can help. Good luck with your purchase!
Use powdered laundry soap in the front loaders and they wont get stinky. I switched years ago and never had a problem with bad smells again. I dont do any special cleaning and leave the door closed most of the time. Great video!
Intetesting, because usually liquid detergent is recommended.
I’ve never had any issues with any odors and with 6 dogs in my house I’m washing bedding all the time.
yes, I use powder for regular wash and liquid for woollens, After reading horror stories before buying my current Asko, made in Slovenia (previous one lasted 18yrs, top model of the day, made in Sweden)
I always remove the soap dispenser to let it dry and leave the door ajar, the door closes without rubber bellows - no mould or funny smells, both parts of drum are stainless steel, drum supported on 4 shock absorbers.
I cannot begin to imagine what you're electricity bill looks like
@@VEVOJavier Not bad this unit only take 25 minutes to run a full cycle, using some maths its 15 cents per load of electricity.
@@krisschedler yes. I had something like that happen with my LG dishwasher. The drain hose just fell apart on the pump. Only 4 years old.
Sorry to hear about your experience with Miele! Good luck with picking out your new Bosch, and thanks for watching!
that spark animation @1:17 was next level. and in an appliance review video?! insane. give the editor a raise...
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Thank you, I will be replacing my Old Bosch and wondered which series to buy.
We hit two of the video recommendations. Dish washer and Refrigrtator. Bosch washer is just awesome.
I switched to powder laundry soap years ago and the washer never got stinky again. When I was using the liquid detergent it always smelled sour.
We have two Maytag Washers and matching dryers. We love it! Hardly any issues!
Son works for a insurance company and says to avoid G/E as they get a horrid number of repair requests on those. This is the coast markets. California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho market.
Thanks. I've seen a couple of these videos praising GE but looking at them in the store I was not convinced
I have yet to see the Chinese owned and made GE last longer than 3 years!! They HAVE to be paying these guys to say they are good! GE=JUNK!
As soon as we hooked up our fridge ice maker to our reverse osmosis water filter, all the problems went away and it's worked great for years.
Blake, so true we disconnected our ice maker in our refrigerator and bought and under counter ice machine made by Scotsman. Game changer.!
Glad to hear it, thanks for watching!
This is just the information I was looking for and you did a great job presenting it. Thanks, BH!
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching.
Pick the Speed Queen… They have great service too, should you ever need it. Made in Ripon, Wisconsin.
Thank you Blake, you have realty helped me make a choice to repair my Electrolux Washer that was in storage for 9 years instead of buying something new.
What about Samsung washer and dryer?? These were not mentioned and they have some of the best models I’ve seen as far as features go.
You know the idea of buying your wife/spouse a mis-matched washer-dryer set just is NOT going to fly! Buy the MATCHING set. Excellent advice.
im not married so i dont have that issue.
Who cares about buying a wife things. Just NEVER buy a mismatched set of anything! End of discussion.
Yeah, if you just have money laying around.
I don't care if it is mismatched, mine are in the garage.
@@kittybeck151 You're poor...
Yes they do, we have a Samsung & nothing but problems with the ice maker. It really has never worked
Yes they do. I replaced my Samsung fridge today with a Frigidaire. Hopefully it will last 😊
My mom has a 17 year old me kenmore dishwasher that she uses three times a week!Still washes like a champ!
Almost 16 years for our Kenmore washer and dryer. We have almost 10-12 loads a week minimum.
My Kenmore dishwasher lasted 29 years
Thank Whirlpool. Kenmore didn’t make it. ;-)
You're one smart repair person. Thank you. I watched this twice and showed my husband . I'm fighting with GE because my side by side is doing a good job. Three repair visits. All said there's an air leak, but I can't find it. I want to go back to French doors!!
Don’t buy GE! I’m biased but it’s from personal experience.
My god! Where have you been all of my life. Thanks!
I have a bosch dishwasher, LG washer, Hitashi fridge (no ice maker) and frigidaire gas range and they have served me well in the past 5 years.
Does Costco remove and take you old washer & dryer? I'm looking into now before mine goes out and we do have Costco
Did u move into a new house last September? Wondering how old is the Worldpool washing machine!
The washer is gonna tear up your clothes
I agree with Frigidaire. I'm now replacing 20 year old Frigidaire. They seemed to work well for 20 years, which is crazy
We went with all GE Profile kitchen appliances and have been very happy with them..The French door bottom freezer did crap out after 3 yrs but the Profile models have a 5 yr factory warranty on motor, compressor and all cooling lines so it was replaced (not repaired) by the factory...
You got money and good taste 😁
We have the same. Got rid of the fridge bc it was ineffective storage compared to our Samsung. The microwave stopped working. The dishwasher isn’t efficient.
Well, now my heart hurts bc I really wanted the Samsung bespoke refrigerator
@@jessicaferguson4518 don't even trip dawg, follow your heart.
3 years? What a waste
We also have a Bosch dishwasher and a Sunbeam toaster and hand mixer from the ‘50s!
Great advice, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your honest opinion Blake about all the appliances; you've made my purchase decision easier than anticipated. 😊🎉
The old trusty whirlpool duo washer and dryer, bought in 2002, just one seal replacement, works like a charm.
I bumped into this video while doing some research for a refrigerator.. Thank you for confirming my suspicions about LG! A great video indeed.
It seems like GE/Whirlpool/Bosch have better across the board consistency across appliance types. Whereas LG/Samsung has some great some blegh..
Which one (model) do you have?? I’m
Looking into that as well
Their classic models are their old-school design and don't have the lid locks. That feature alone (they were the last to change, then quickly brought it back as the 'classic' model) sold MANY Speed Queen machines at my last job over the years.
@@MarkZickefoose Have a set Speed Queen from a few years ago have been fantastic, zero problems. Did have the lid lock but can be bypassed.
Lg craps out at 4.75 yrs..they have massive law suits do to compressor failure. I’m a never again on lg
11 years going strong with my LG French Door Refrigerator. ZERO problems! It's past the 10 year warranty now. Will buy another LG refrigerator in the future based on my experience!
@@nomomania6827have you not had any plastic bits just break off whenever you touch them?
My LG French door refrigerator freezer is 6 years old and has been brilliant. We live in a humid tropical environment and I was a bit concerned when we bought it as it wasn’t cheap but so far it’s been faultless.
@@PJD_55 the refrigeration part is fine, if a bit noisy. It’s the quality of materials that I’m complaining about. The water and ice features are practically inoperable because all the plastic components, screws, and springs have broken off.
The Electrolux is absolutely fantastic. Its whisper quiet and cleans SO WELL. I literally cannot believe how clean my clothes feel and smell.
