I have a Siemens machine that looks identical but got stuck trying to remove the base, it looked like there were some parts attached to the base that were stopping it from coming away. Help !
This part is available for $19.95. I don’t mind paying a little more if you are in the ballpark, but charging almost $80 for the exact same thing is a ripoff. I ordered and installed the one for $19.95 and it worked perfectly.
why does it fray in the first place. i can't see any spot that would cause wear. check screw just inline where the rope runs. i shortened the screw because it looks like it may be fraying the rope.
Video shows a lot of steps and disassembly just to reach the part. I think I'll just not bother with a repair and carefully hold the door upon opening/closing. Wonderful dishwasher though!

It seems like it would be a good idea, once having repaired the dishwasher, to verify that the door is functioning correctly before reinstalling it.

Too bad there's no mention of door tension adjustment - which could be needed or available on some listed models.

Three servicemen would not replace the hinge because without fail they leak afterwards.. bosch 500 series.
Seriously?! Poor engineering…way too complex for this repair. Should be easier access for this.
Too much unnecessary info and extra steps. It should be 30 sec video.
