I just want to say thank you for such a detailed step-by-step video to go through the installation process. I have a Bosch integrated dishwasher and handleless kitchen and I have been using my dishwasher without the door and fixngs for half an year. There are so many unncessary things in the manual and it is way better to see a video like this to explain all the parts and steps.
I have completed the installation last night and it looked perfectly aligned now. No more eye sores and stepping to keep the door open!

Great video, tho as aa appliance engineer it is far easier to fit door yo dishwasher before you put it in the space, making sure that the decor door is at least 20mm above appliance door when attaching, then jack up front and back legs to align with adjacent cupboard doors. This will alleviate the need to put battens on the floor as the appliance shouldn't slammed tight to underside worktop. Don't forget to put panhead screws in appliance front legs to lock them..

This is gold. Thanks a lot for the explanations. Lifesaver 😊. The Bosch manual make the installation daunting. Not to say that the cabinet door fixing dimensions on the drawing don't fit with the screws positions on the dishwasher door.

To secure the machine in place the newer ones have 2 flimsy pieces of metal that you screw to the top and bend the ends down before pushing the macine into place. These require to have 2 screws inserted each side.
This system replaces the ratcheting plastic plugs on each side that you show in the video.

You did a great job, with high precision. I love the fully integrated appliances: they fit perfectly into the kitchen aesthetics, and they look like furniture themselves. For the dishwasher, which is an excellent brand, I opted to apply an additional layer of insulating material on the top (to make it even more silent).

Fantastic video! Thanks: Liked and subscribed. We’d just bought a Bosch dishwasher and I was scratching my head over that awful instruction sheet. Your video saved the day by adding a load more detail and explanation. It gave me the confidence to keep at (and eventually finish) the job.
Unless I missed it, you didn’t say about peeling the cover off the second (outer) side the Velcro pad. I did this and it helped to hold the door in place whilst I sorted out the screws. And being Velcro of course it allowed me to slightly adjust the position of the door before putting the screws in.
Thanks again for a really helpful video.

  • @johnnybabel5101
    @johnnybabel5101 Год назад +2

Good video and well done! Many people and builders alike don’t pay attention to the height of the dishwasher they choose. In the US the cabinet height is pretty standardized and calls for a dishwasher of 86.5 cm. In Europe it varies. If your cabinet height is between 88 and 92 cm, you should choose an integrated dishwasher height of 86.5 cm, not 81cm. The dishwasher door top and front “facade” panel should be nearly flush (within a couple of cm). You should not need to prop up your dishwasher with boards on the floor. You also need to pay attention to the height of the dishwasher “facade panel.” Most 86.5 cm height dishwashers “facade panel” size range from 70.5 cm to 81.5 cm. More and more today, most people prefer a taller cabinet height ranging from 87 cm to 90 cm (depending upon worktop thickness). People also prefer greater dishwasher capacity. With this in mind, a kitchen designed as such should choose the 86 cm+ dishwasher and take the guesswork out of the equation.

Always bear in mind what door is being fitted before deciding on the height of the dishwasher.
J-pull/ handleless doors don't have a full 18mm rail along the top so if the dishwasher is up tight to the worktop, the screws used to fix the door to the dishwasher
(the 2 screws at the top) will come through to the area where your hand goes when opening the door and will be visable.
I've been fitting kitchens for 20 years and I've seen this happen.

You can stick in on with magnets or other mounting system, but it is a bit of a mess to keep it attached.

    Hi.
An integrated dishwasher is secured to the adjacent cabinets, so doesn't need to be stable. Adjust the front feet to the correct height and level, then adjust the back foot so the appliance is level. Easy.
It makes it easier to remove for repair too.
You do need to use salt, regardless of your water hardness, unless it is really soft water. The salt contains sodium which repairs the water softening unit in your dishwasher.
The tiny amount of salt in the tablets does not reach this area.

  • @Chris-BognorRegis

Fitted numerous integrated units in my homes over the years so I thought this would be a no brainer.
Watched your excellent video many times along with studying the instructions.
First its a lot easier it seems doing it with the worktop off especially when making sure the dishwasher does not move when you open the door for fitting the side screws.
Mine was a replacement, last dishwasher lasted just over a year so worktop already in place. Oh my god what a pain that was but got there in the end I thought.
Copied your video to the letter but when it came to opening the dishwasher with the door fitted it catches on the bottom of the dishwasher.
Nothing to say why or what you do about it. Seems strange that yours did not.
Like you I had that little card which I thinks explains what you have to do if the door catches on the bottom of the dishwasher when opening. But there is no other mention of that card or how it works.
I did think about raising the door but then I would have to drop the dishwasher and therefore leave a gap at the top between dishwasher and worktop.
I really do not know what to do, proper explanation in the instructions would have helped.
    Regards Chris

I have the (unhelpful) picture instructions from Bosch and can see the sheet acts as a template. The instructions also seem to suggest inserting longer screws half way down each side (presumably to secure the panel in addition to the double sided tape). Anyway, thanks for getting me under way. @Gosforth Handyman. Excellent work as usual sir! Just a little piece of wisdom that I picked up and something you may already know. You commented on your Bosch dishwasher having only three levelling pedestals/jacks. Apparently it's easier to level off on three legs/pedestals/stands than four. The "analogy" as explained to me was of the classic three - legged milking stool. Just rotate to get level. Are the cymbal stands on your drum kit three or four legged? Your kitchen fit out is coming on a bundle. Thanks again. You and yours stay safe and well.

For a three legged stool all three legs will always be in contact with the floor. If the floor is not level then the stoll will not be level.

Overconstraint is a plague. Adjusting four feet for level is a neverending juggle which just burns time.

Cheers Mark! Yup, 4 feet machines are defo more stable though (having worked on both). 👍😁

Any advice on how to get the blue protective film off the side when the door is already fitted? I’ve got most of it but lots of small straggly bits are still stuck in certain places 😢

      I KNOW..!!
All that bother when you can just slide a dishwasher into a gap and walk away.....

I have a similar Bosch dishwasher, the door is coming away from the front of the dishwasher and, I’ve noticed a screw missing half way down, what size are the screws that attach the dishwasher to the door please?

  • @JonnyFive4321

Do you have to anchor the dishwasher to the cupboards left and right?

It’s not a standard dishwasher you have to buy special ones that can take cabinet doors. Very common in Europe

I prefer free standing appliances, much easier and less hassle to swap out for new when they break (which they will eventually).

Hi mate what model is that dishwasher. Ours has just given up the ghost. On looking all of seem to not mention that you can’t fit your own door. Maybe an error on the retailers part but dont want to get stuck with a dishwasher. Also looked at a Siemens model and it said the same

Hy, If you don't want to cut the plinth, do like this 10 cm, 72 cm, and the rest put wood up to the top. And the door will open without problems. They make for 72 cm high doors, like refrigerator doors.,The dimensions of the furniture bodies are calculated like this - 90 above - 60 or 65 and 60 cm min for the upper bodies.Because it is possible to install a washing machine that has a height of 85 cm+-.like for video,👍
