Happened to mine. Just called Bosch. It's a recall and they will cover the parts and labor. The old mechanism is due to fail, only matter of time. This video still helped me.
I also would like to thank you. I called their 24 HR number that has operators in the United States! I told the woman I never registered the product, she said no problem, all she needed was the number. She said it was 100% covered parts and labor and gave me an appointment for less than a week away. It was such a shock to me. Again thank you for mentioning the chance or a recall/warranty. 😀
This is the best video I could find on the subject. However, the Bosch dishwasher in the video has no metal panels covering the sides as mine does. These panels are held in place by integral snap-over clips and one screw on each side. The screws may be covered by plastic strips that fill spaces on the sides of the box. To get at each screw pull the plastic strip up and out of its track. The strip may be stuck, but it will release upwards. Remove the screw and the other fasteners will release the panel. Now you can follow the video, remembering to replace all parts that were removed
Great tutorial. It was a pretty easy fix. The replacement parts did come with 2 spring clips. Didn't look like I needed them. The 2 springs came with metal brackets attached. Was I right in not using these spting clips?
Super helpful -- my husband found this video, canceled the service call we had put in. Purchased the parts from Amazon, and within 15 minutes had the repair completed!
Thanks so much!! Perfect explanation and video; I ordered the springs on Amazon for like $30 and had no problem with the repair thanks to this no-nonsense, clear video. Only tricky part was sliding the dishwasher back in without getting the drainage tube repeatedly stuck underneath! (Luckily, those tubes are super thick and sturdy-ran a rinse cycle afterwards before reinstalling the washer just to make sure there was no leakage.)
Very helpful. Following your video, found it really easy to replace the spring and rope. Replacement springs and ropes are a big improvement over the original design. My dishwasher is slightly different, but the principle is the same
couple years ago one side of ours broke. i was like what is this rope?? lol. but we rode it out. today the other side broke and now the door falls like you said. I am not sure what model bosch we have compared to yours, its about 8 years old, so i'll need to look into that but this gives me confidence, I'll be giving this ago. Also what kinda watch you got there? :D
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance thanks. I ordered the kit yesterday. I've been looking a lot the last month or so was offered great deal on couple tissots and wanted to take the deal today but, can't shake spending all that when I could put it on mortgage xD I rarely leave the house (work from home) but they're just so darn pretty. Anyway yeah lol. Well see how this repair goes. My only real concern is how easy a time I may or may not have sliding the dw out. Well see. Prob be fine. I am a diyer with pretty much everything I can and it always works out fine.
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Sir you will be pleased to know two things occurred today, 1) I replaced the two springs on my dishwasher, that was just as easy as I expected after seeing your video, thank you very much, and 2) I placed my order for my first and second watch! Tissot prx powermatic 80 40mm (the ice blue) and the prx chronograph panda with silver hands. I can't handle a submariner heh, but this is a great intro into the watch world for my budget I think. Get them next week, can't wait!
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make the spring LESS tight? Mine is so tight it makes the door smack my arm every time I roll the bottom rack into the dishwasher....my son has a Bosch but it isn't nearly this much tension. I'd be grateful for any suggestions. TIA
Very nice video indeed! Mine has another issue which is about the door closes promptly on its own. I have to press the door down using lots of force to prevent it from closing on its own. I found the two screws where you are supposed to adjust the tension of the door but it didn’t seem to work. Do you know what went wrong on my end?

Than you just wiggle it out. Sometimes you need to turn the plastic feed so you create more vertical clearance to get the dishwasher out from under countertop.
Excellent video on how to fix this problem. It made the repair easy and I was able to do this myself.
I love it❤️😊👍

You can move where the spring connects to the frame so the spring won’t be as tight.

the plastich housing that holds the end of the spring broke off on my bosh, cant fix that.
It’s going to need to new rope cables.

What if my dishwasher isn’t screwed into the countertop? I have a stone counter.
