Fantastic guide, been playing with gyro aim for a while but I still learned some new things! And the recentre button is a game changer I seriously hope gyro keeps gaining the traction it is to become an official supported option in every FPS game
With the manual dots per 360 calibration, you can set it to less than a full turn then click the button as many time as needed to go back to the reference point, then multiply the px value by the number of time you clicked and then divide by the number of actual turns the camera did. If you clicked a lot of times and cannot seem to reach back to the exact same spot, then do a intermediary adjustment and repeat the process, as the error decreases it should increase the precision of the method. With that method you get the exact value.
This is the best guide I've seen. Wow. I've been having trouble on how to get the gyro aim to feel the same in every game and this answers it. Thanks a lot! Hope you keep up the work. 😊 Subscribed.

Yeah, it's really not that hard once you try it. It's very intuitive. I would recommend new players to ignore all of the non-essential features, because eventually you will want to change some settings. Glad you like it, have fun!
I just wanna say big "Thank you" work all your work that you have put into this channel. You have made my whole journey with gyro aim much easier to start and I have learned a lot from your videos!
What is, in your opinion, the best gyro aim set up? I recently purchased a dualsense 5 controller, and I wanna aim with gyro in it, but I don't know which tech I want to train into because I don't know where to start. Do you use yaw, yaw+roll, local, world, or something else? What is your preferred gyro aim speed?
DualSense has the best gyro sensor. I always use Players Space orientation. On the left hand corner of the screen, there are my recommended settings for beginners. So my recommendation is to use 2x sensitivity or 3x sensitivity. You can start by choosing a game you want to play, seeing if someone already made a config for it (here's a list with all of my configs: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3266410893) or making a configuration using this guide. And just start playing, it will be a little awkward at first because you will need to re-learn some things, but you will get the hang of it in a couple play sections. I am looking to setup something a little different for my PS4 controller for God of War: Ragnarök. To understand the issue, I have to take my left thumb off of the left joystick to press the arrows keys which changes the weapons Kratos is currently using. Instead of treating the gyro like a mouse camera, I want to setup a gyro feature that, when I flick the controller down or up (any gyro direction), it will swap Kratos's weapon. It needs to be a quick flick to change weapons and I have been trying to figure it out but I cant get it to work. I tried assigning a radial menu to correspond to the gyro flick direction but have no had any luck. Do you think you could help with this or is this a different problem altogether with Steam's controller settings? Thank for the video!
@@FlickStickVids Where is this option? Is it under the gyro behavior menu, virtual menus, or is it an action set. Also, thank you for the quick response!
Do you know by any chance why when I'm playing gyro randomly my crosshair will just flick around . Instead of being smooth it will just flick and it happens often so it stops me from aimming
My dots per 360 seems to be correct given the camera 360 spin button however the gyro sensitivity doesn't seem to be matching up unless I'm misunderstanding what it does. I placed my controller flat horizontally and spun it around when it was 3x and it doesn't end up in the exact position as the 360 button but more so to the right. It does do 3 in game spins. It also can be vertically off although I'm not lifting it noticeably.
There is a bug while using Bluetooth that makes your sensitivity to be a little off. It usually happens when I'm using Player Space orientation. So try using World Space. This bug will eventually get fixed, that's why I didn't mention it in the video.
@@FlickStickVids World Space seems to be less jittery but that didn't fix the issue. The game is Risk of Rain 2 by the way which I understand is unusual. Been testing with 1x and gyro is definitely off vertically and horizontally after a full rotation on top of a table despite correct camera 360 spin. I don't know if it's related but the mouse-sensitivity website value was a bit off and I had to manually adjust it. Thanks for responding though. I'll try a different game and see if I have better luck.
Agh I have a third party gamepad with gyro & back buttons but they put the controller as Xbox, so idk how to bypass & add gyro & enable back buttons on Steam
Hello how do you get the in game sensitivity value for The Finals? I was following you on everything until you got to that. Is that something I would have to change myself within the game first? Thanks.
The final has native gyro implementation, if you have a playstation controller please use that instead of this method. But if you have a different controller, follow this guide instead: ruclips.net/video/8qFG1AlVHq0/видео.htmlsi=xnfoxNxiZmJk6CQj
another video giving recommended values would be helpful. i understand its completely down to the individual and game but for newcomers it would be useful to have a set of values as a starting point to explore from. ive gone through nearly all your videos and you mostly describe what things do, which is useful, but i really need some content describing for example what you use and why. Potentially even some more info on bindings etc too. ive gone through the pain of binding controls to buttons that made sense initially only to realise they dont make sense in practise for whatever reason.
@PAPPASGAMING the ones that don't have recommended values are up to personal preference. But if you want my recommendation, just leave everything at default and change only the sensitivity and enable button. That's it.
Hi there. I'm trying to diagnose a problem for someone, specifically that their Gyro controls are constantly out of calibration during gameplay. There is a setting on your screen that I believe would solve their issue, but I can't seem to find it on my hardware. The "Auto Calibrate when Stationary" option is missing. Do you have any advice for me?
Okay, so I've been tinkering more with this on MWO. Even for a beginner, 2x -3x sensitivity is likely too high. Leaving arms unlocked, setting sensitivity to 0.25x (MWO DotsPer360 =24000 at 90 view) gives way more control that 2x to 3x. Edit: things are still wonky.
I love your tutorials. But I can't get gyro as a mouse to work in resident evil 4. Would it be possible for you to provide links to your settings or the name for search? It's a lot of work to set everything up from 0.
What if the game is not on Steam? For example, I have Doom Eternal on the Microsoft Store, so how do I set up a gyro for that? Thanks for such a detailed guide!!!
You have a couple of options: 1. Buy the game again on steam. 2. Use a program called Glossi to add non-steam games to steam, allowing you to use steam input. 3. Use different input remappers like reWASD and Joyshockmapper.
Destiny doesn't have mixed inputs, you will need to rebind every button to keyboard and mouse keys, like mentioned in the video. Luckily, I already made a config for Destiny 2, you can just import it and have fun! I also show in the video how to import configs. Like I said "you should always check if the game you are trying to play already has a gyro configuration".
I already made a config for Destiny 2. I even updated it a couple of months ago. You can just import that, I believe it's called "Destiny 2 gyro config by FSV". Unfortunately Destiny 2 is a difficult game to play with gyro, because everything that doesn't involve "aiming and shooting" is really hard to make it work normally. But you can still play the whole game with my config. My config emulates KBM, if you want a config that uses gyro as a joystick, you will have to look elsewhere, because gyro as joystick is worse overall and I'm not spending time setting that up lol 😂
Awesome video, clean edit! Love to see more adherence of gyro, hope microsoft can add it to their rollers soon and make it industry standard so Aim Assist can be killed. Keep on it!
@@FlickStickVids Sorry to hear that. I guess I will start playing with the Steam Deck built-in gyro. I hope I can make it work on a second screen and stiull use it as a controller.
Thank you for the awesome guide! I would love it if this was written down in some form, like on a website or even just a Google Doc that you could share with a link. 🤩
I'm glad you like it! I was planning on making a text version on Reddit, but I can't post gifs anymore. Now that I have a Steam Deck, I will probably make a Steam Guide on the steam deck community. So... Stay tuned!
Sorry to bother you again, but I'm having some issues getting "Reset Camera" to work well on Borderlands 2. I've tried various different settings with delay and angle but the following issues depending on what I set it to keep occurring: I keep constantly looking at the ground or the ceiling, I'll look at several different angles, or about 70% of the time I'll look to the correct position but the other 30% it'll sometimes look up or down. I'm using the Steam Deck btw.
@Termulus rn bugs are very common with this feature, I think there isn't much we can do. Maybe disabling mouse smoothing will solve the issue. But if not, you will have to play with a gyro disable button instead :(
I get the gyro working on the first descendant but there's a conflict with the controller interface jumping between Xbox and playstation even after i left only playstation on. In the first descendant you need to hold l1 combined with the buttons. It cancels skill that need to stay active for a certain period. Can someone help me?
I had a Switch and adored Gyro-Aim..... Then I moved to PS5 thinking it would be implemented in most games (since it has this amazing controller) and I was surprised to find out it's almost ignored! The games that do have it, Horizon: FW, Last of Us I/II, God of War: Rag implement it very well indeed (Capcom Resi series to a certain extend, can be hit and miss), why has it not taken off?? I've heard it's mainly because Microsoft don't have it, and so therefore, developers don't want to (or have been told not too) favour the PS5 controls over Xbox?!?!
Marketing tries really hard to hide the existence of this feature because people think it will work like the Wii, and they have no intention to distance the image of gyro aiming from the Wii. So devs do not know how to implement it correctly, until last year, there was no standard they could follow. Players refuse to learn because they are already used to every game aiming for them with Aim Assist. And to top it all off, Xbox doesn't have it, so devs are discouraged to implement it on competitive games, like Valorant, to not create an unfair advantage to one platform.
I appreciate the benefits of learning gyro aim and stuff, but I'm honestly not sure if I'm willing to sacrifice my muscle memory for something I still don't quite understand. I tried it on mobile since I don't have a PC anymore but I'd much rather use mouse & keyboard when I get one. It's just wayyyy too much of a hassle and too complex for me to understand, there's like a gazillion options and the game I tried out had no customization or any information regarding whether it was Yaw or Roll or this or that-It's not even a learning curve, it's a learning wall. Great video though; I like your editing style.
Thx! My beginners guide will help you much more than this video, you should check that out: ruclips.net/video/rOybuNm9XR8/видео.htmlsi=grTFNsEb2TM81dvL It's much simpler than you think, that's for sure, good luck! ;D
Hi for some odd reason the gyro to joystick camera aim has randomly stopped working, it’s gone extremely slow and most settings don’t effect my ps5 controller. So I’m having to play gyro as joystick because that’s the only thing that’s working and allowing to change settings . For example the beta one , the senisitivity does not effect my gyro what’s so ever and stays slow. Please help
@@FlickStickVids warzone pal , it just randomly stopped working. I’ve been gutted :( really like the beta gyro! I use a ps5 edge controller, I’ve tried all of them nothing works
@@FlickStickVids it’s not as smooth, like there’s a setting on there which is called lazer aim, the gyro feels perfect on it! You have any idea what the issue could be?
I see. Steam input is going through some big changes, acceleration curves are on the way, so a couple of weeks ago, Flick Stick had similar issues. I guess you will just have to wait, sorry :(
No controller can do that. Only games and controllers re-mappers, like Steam Input. Watch the "how to disable gyro" chapter to learn how to set that up.
I need some help. Currently setting up L4D2 controls with flick stick and gyro. I tried calibrating the Flick Stick but I had maxed out the Mouse Pixels (Dots Per 360) but I still can't make a complete four 90 degree turns to face the exact same direction, yet the sweep is extremely high even though nothing else in the setting changed. This seems to be a problem only found in L4D2 because I tried two games with Flick Stick/Gyro setting and they work perfectly well. Edit: Nevermind, I just need to _not_ set the Mouse Sensitivity in the game to 0 and turn on "Raw Mouse Input".
Gyro isn't supported on Xbox. Xbox controllers and accessories that promise gyro will emulate the right stick. This is considered the worst case scenario because analog sticks have deadzones, acceleration curves, aim assist and a bunch of other stuff that will make your gyro journey a pain in the ass without most of the benefits of native gyro or gyro as mouse. I never used the Vader 3 so I do not know if you can configure the gyro per game, but if it's a simple toggle "on" or "off" with no configuration settings, I wouldn't recommend this controller, or this platform.
Asuming you are useing the Vader 3 pro on PC you can use gyro via the flydigi app, or if you dont want the app you can connect it to your pc using Nintendo switch mode useing bluetooth or cable so steam can reconize it as a switch pro controller instead of a xbox controller. Unfortunately steam will not reconize it as a Switch controller if you use the doungle.
I have an issue where I have set up Flick Stick to mouse pixels perfectly so if I'm sweeping my stick a full rotation of the stick translates perfectly to my character in game rotating 360 degrees, however my flicks do not translate perfectly (so flicking to the right will not translate to a 90 degree turn clockwise, flicking down doesn't translate to my character turning 180 degrees), nor does the button bind to turn the camera 360 degrees turn my character 360 degrees. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I have mouse smoothing disabled. Edit: If i move the stick down very slowly i can just about bet a perfect 180 degree turn, but if i flick it quickly it just seems to be random. I've tried playing with the inner and outer deadzone but to no avail. Edit 2: I just changed the "turn camera 360 degrees" button to do the rotation in a second instead of 250 ms and it does the full rotation now. There seems to be a setting in game that is messing with my mouse inputs if the mouse moves too quickly.
@wolverine005 ok, just did a quick search, make sure "direct mouse mode" is active in the settings. If that option is already activated, sometimes while using Flick Stick, after the initial flick, the travel distance to the center will sweep the camera just a tiny bit. In that case, increase the release dampening speed to 10u/s. You can also tighten up the deadzones and lower the sweep tightness. But man, some games will just work better than others, unfortunately, if the devs added these features natively, we would always have better results.
Hi, please tell me, if you put gyro as a mouse, how to avoid changing the display of water elements on the screen jumping between x, o and e, wasd (for example) and so on.
Short answer, you can't. Long answer: You either have yo make everything a keyboard input or just deal with it. Some games let you force the UI (like Prey), but it us rare.
@@Nycoorias thanks for the reply, still with all the benefits of steam deck freedom we get crutches and dampness It's still easier to play shooters with a native gyroscope (and not configured as a mouse), probably because of the screen you are holding in your hands.
Depends on the game! Look to see if there's any options that lock glyphs to controller only (rare) Some games, the flickering is merely annoying. Other games, the flickering will actually tank your frame rate. At that point, you will have to use a pure mouse + keyboard config. Developers are recommended to only change their glyphs to PC ones based on keyboard or mouse button press, and NOT in reaction to mouse movement. But few developers stick to this recommendation. The other _other_ option is to use Gyro to Joystick (Camera) as this will not generate mouse inputs, only joystick inputs. Unfortunately the resulting Gyro aim feel is going to be affected by the game's own deadzone treatments, so this can take a really long time to tune. If you're lucky, some games have really great deadzone options, which let you practically turn off response curves, and turn off deadzones. That's the best case scenario (Halo Infinite would allow this). Most games won't even give you the option to change deadzone size let alone response curves. Basically, if mixed input isn't available, and you need to pick between pure keyboard+mouse or pure gamepad, the former will always you the better game feel, but will sacrifice the correct glyphs.
What settings does Splatoon use? Like if I wanted to replicate Splatoon's Gyro aim (TV Play not Handheld) in all my Steam games what should I use as a base?
Splatoon has a lot of filters and complicated things going on behind the scenes, so the feeling won't be the exact same, but it uses world space. The sensitivity range is between 2x to 4.25x. and you can max out gyro precision speed to achieve the tiny delay that Splatoon have. You can also add a re-center button. And I didn't have time to mention this, but on the camera tab, there is a third option that, when combined with "reset camera", allows you to re-center the camera exactly like Splatoon, not just re-centering vertically but moving the camera behind your character too!
@@froinky To approximate Splatoon's Camera, bind your preferred button (typically the west face button for Splatoon) to both "Reset Camera" and also "Face Direction" . These are both found under the "Camera" tab when you bind an activator slot. You'll need to add an activator slot to bind the second command to the same button. You might also want to set your Gyro Activation button to the same button (in the Gyro to Mouse Settings (cog) submenu), and set it to "Suppress Gyro". "Face Direction" turns you to face the last direction you were pushing the left stick in (although you can set it up to use any other direction source - right stick, trackpads, dpad buttons, and even NSEW face buttons)
I would suggest to start small. All you would need for precise aim is to only activate while aiming down sites or holding any button to activate gyro aim. Thats how I do it I personally can't wrap my brain around _always on gyro_
no entiendo porque, pero el gyro de steam no esta funcionando bien para mi, tengo problemas con la beta y aveces no me aaparecen los perfiles que creo y me toman horas crear, me recomiendan otro metodo para jguar con gyro ?
Weird. It's working just fine for me. Huuuuum... Disabling Steam beta Updates may help. If it doesn't, JoyShockMapper, DS4WINDOWS and reWASD all have decent gyro features.
Everything gets easier when there's native support, but many devs don't have the time or resources to implement it yet. And sometimes the native support ain't great. The good thing about getting over the learning hump with SteamInput is that you can apply it to practically any game from then on. But yeah, no denying that it's a hurdle.
@mavimavi9016 third party controllers are weird, all of them have their quirks. Try searching on the controller's manual for a way to calibrate gyro. Often third party controllers have button combinations that allow you to do just that.
@@FlickStickVids yeee, I calibrate it in gamesir app, calibrate without app and steam with buttons, and in steam, but it still love randomly start drift, and only on 1 axis
Huuum 🤔 do you have a first party controller that you can test? Like the joy-cons, DualSense or DualShock4. That way we can find out if it's steam's fault or your controller.
It depends. Most third party controllers are recognized by your PC as an xbox controller, if your controller is one of the few that can be recognized as a switch pro controller or as a Dualshock4 then yes! It will work with third party controllers ;D

I fell the same way i want to like flickstick, but it is super annoying to tinker with if on every single game. Im better off just useing a high sens joystick, or even gyro ratcheting
Hi ! Which one is better in your opinion ? My purpose is story mode fps gaming not online gaming. But gyro is what I'm addicted to. And another question is , does gyro input works in any game?
Gyro does work with any game however some games have more tinkering then others. Steam input is for geting in to the nitty gritty of action layers, game overlays, and advanced remaping. DS4W, while pretty powerful, more streamlined to use in comparison to steam input
On consoles it's impossible to have a universal solution like this. Unfortunately we are dependent on the developers of each game adding this feature. Sony could make an OS update that enables gyro aim on a system wide level. But they won't do that. So... Yeah :(
And this is why people don't want to mess with Gyro, it's wayyyyy too much work and fiddling, just to play your favorite games, when you can just use a mouse and keyboard.
That's true to a certain extent. But this is an in-depth guide, you will find that half of the information on the video isn't necessary if you just want to start playing. If people started to ask for gyro and it became a standard, you would be able to just activate it in the settings and play, but that's not the world we live in, unfortunately. And that's why this channel exists, so people can import my configurations and play their favorite games without having to do all of this :D
@@FlickStickVids That's not all it takes, personally I reach the highest ranks in all games and top of the leaderboards, I have a HUGE interest and admidaration for those few who play well with controller and gyro, but I cannot freakin for the life of me, do it myself, the whole point of sitting awkwardly, having to use both your hands like a "bus-steeringwheel", to quote you, just feels absolutely horrible. If gyro are to be more common, I think the way directedpinput does it, with joycons etc. is way more approachable, so you can still use your right hand as the "mouse" and not both hands, which just feels horrible and I doubt anyone will ever reach a proper high level (by my standards anyway) with a controller and gyro.
@Lynildps oh, I see. Yeah, this video is not what you are looking for, sorry. This is a configuration guide, not a "how to get good with gyro guide". I wonder which games you tried to have this impression of gyro, a lot of them have terrible implementations, so I can say "you should try gyro aim", and then the person plays something with terrible gyro like Horizon Forbidden West. Anyway, some people will just not vibe with it, and that's ok.
@@FlickStickVids I used the steam-input thing, which as I can understand through my research, should be pretty good. I have no tried any game with native gyro, as none of those interest me. I'm interested in Counter-Strike, Spectre Divide and other comp games. And I spent hours trying to adjust and do all sorts of things, but you have to hold your controller in an awkard way and aiming with gyro, while also manuevering the right analog... It's just a mess, even using things like turning 180 with a press (which is pretty cool), doesn't really help. It's not about "vibing" with it, it's about easy of use and setup, as well as I believe my standards for how I want to game are way higher than yours and many others, if I can't do at least 90% (with practice of course) as I can with mnk, then it just doesn't seem worth it, not even for the fun of it.
@Lynildps I disagree, 3year olds can play with gyro just fine on Splatoon. So idk what you are on about. Just hold the controller the way you always did, and rotate the controller to aim.

I hope that next doom game will natively support gyro aiming
What's that game at 20:30?
Devil Daggers
Agh I have a third party gamepad with gyro & back buttons but they put the controller as Xbox, so idk how to bypass & add gyro & enable back buttons on Steam
You can't. Unless the controller has a Nintendo switch mode or a Playstation mode, you are out of luck :(
Hello how do you get the in game sensitivity value for The Finals?
I see. But I did give recommended values on the bottom left of almost every chapter of this video 😢
@@FlickStickVids only on some! I would also love recommended values on every option
@PAPPASGAMING the ones that don't have recommended values are up to personal preference. But if you want my recommendation, just leave everything at default and change only the sensitivity and enable button. That's it.
@@FlickStickVids thank you chief :)
Which controller/device are they trying to use?
Okay, so I've been tinkering more with this on MWO. Even for a beginner, 2x -3x sensitivity is likely too high. Leaving arms unlocked, setting sensitivity to 0.25x (MWO DotsPer360 =24000 at 90 view) gives way more control that 2x to 3x.
Edit: things are still wonky.
I love your tutorials. But I can't get gyro as a mouse to work in resident evil 4. Would it be possible for you to provide links to your settings or the name for search? It's a lot of work to set everything up from 0.
It's not that hard! There are plenty of configs for re4 that you can import, just follow the guide and import one of them.
What if the game is not on Steam? For example, I have Doom Eternal on the Microsoft Store, so how do I set up a gyro for that? Thanks for such a detailed guide!!!
You have a couple of options:
1. Buy the game again on steam.
2. Use a program called Glossi to add non-steam games to steam, allowing you to use steam input.
3. Use different input remappers like reWASD and Joyshockmapper.
i cant move in destiny with these settings switch pro controller
Destiny doesn't have mixed inputs, you will need to rebind every button to keyboard and mouse keys, like mentioned in the video.
Luckily, I already made a config for Destiny 2, you can just import it and have fun! I also show in the video how to import configs. Like I said "you should always check if the game you are trying to play already has a gyro configuration".
@@FlickStickVids thanks
Could you help me figure out how to sprint on your config and use it like an actual controller?
Which game are you trying to play?
@FlickStickVids d2
@FlickStickVids I forgot to specify that
I already made a config for Destiny 2.
It's hard trying to make my own
Awesome video, clean edit! Love to see more adherence of gyro, hope microsoft can add it to their rollers soon and make it industry standard so Aim Assist can be killed. Keep on it!
Hi there. Thanks for this detailed video. I wonder if you tired the GuliKit KK3 MAX Controller (way more affordable than the Dual Sense Edge).
Unfortunately, no. I asked them to send me one for review but they didn't reply :(
@@FlickStickVids Sorry to hear that.
So... Stay tuned!
Do you recommend player space or world space for deadlock?
Player Space
Sorry to bother you again, but I'm having some issues getting "Reset Camera" to work well on Borderlands 2. I've tried various different settings with delay and angle but the following issues depending on what I set it to keep occurring: I keep constantly looking at the ground or the ceiling, I'll look at several different angles, or about 70% of the time I'll look to the correct position but the other 30% it'll sometimes look up or down. I'm using the Steam Deck btw.
Did you properly calibrate the "dots per 360" setting?
@@FlickStickVids Yup, it's been calibrated correctly.
@Termulus rn bugs are very common with this feature, I think there isn't much we can do. Maybe disabling mouse smoothing will solve the issue. But if not, you will have to play with a gyro disable button instead :(
This is real a good guide. More power to you bro
And to top it all off, Xbox doesn't have it, so devs are discouraged to implement it on competitive games, like Valorant, to not create an unfair advantage to one platform.
does the adaptive triggers work with steam input?
No
I appreciate the benefits of learning gyro aim and stuff, but I'm honestly not sure if I'm willing to sacrifice my muscle memory for something I still don't quite understand.
Thx! My beginners guide will help you much more than this video, you should check that out: ruclips.net/video/rOybuNm9XR8/видео.htmlsi=grTFNsEb2TM81dvL
It's much simpler than you think, that's for sure, good luck!
Please help
Which game are you trying to play?
@@FlickStickVids warzone pal , it just randomly stopped working. I’ve been gutted :( really like the beta gyro! I use a ps5 edge controller, I’ve tried all of them nothing works
Can't you use the native gyro implementation that's already built into the game? Just disable Steam Input and have fun!
I guess you will just have to wait, sorry :(
Are there controllers where I can switch gyro on and off mid-gameplay?
No controller can do that. Only games and controllers re-mappers, like Steam Input. Watch the "how to disable gyro" chapter to learn how to set that up.
Great video
How about the other gyro modes? I like to still retain vibration for exmple
I will leave that to another video. But most games with mixed inputs retain vibrations
Increase the in-game mouse sens.
The lower the mouse sens, the higher the pixel per 360.
@@FlickStickVids Thank you. I *_just_* found out about this as soon as you replied lmao.
Thank you for helping anyway.
Hell yeah thats some good ass guide
Does xbox support gyro? Im gona buy Vader 3 Pro controller for the gyro (and other things🙏) but is gyro gonna work?
Which game are you trying to play?
@@FlickStickVids Vintage Story
@wolverine005 ok, just did a quick search, make sure "direct mouse mode" is active in the settings.
If that option is already activated, sometimes while using Flick Stick, after the initial flick, the travel distance to the center will sweep the camera just a tiny bit. In that case, increase the release dampening speed to 10u/s.
You can also tighten up the deadzones and lower the sweep tightness.
But man, some games will just work better than others, unfortunately, if the devs added these features natively, we would always have better results.
@@FlickStickVids God bless you FlickStick sensei. Enabling "direct mouse mode" fixed the issue.
Hi, please tell me, if you put gyro as a mouse, how to avoid changing the display of water elements on the screen jumping between x, o and e, wasd (for example) and so on.
Short answer, you can't.
Long answer:
You either have yo make everything a keyboard input or just deal with it. Some games let you force the UI (like Prey), but it us rare.
@@Nycoorias thanks for the reply, still with all the benefits of steam deck freedom we get crutches and dampness
It's still easier to play shooters with a native gyroscope (and not configured as a mouse), probably because of the screen you are holding in your hands.
Depends on the game!
Look to see if there's any options that lock glyphs to controller only (rare)
Some games, the flickering is merely annoying.
To clarify, steamdeck users should play on local instead of world space?
Yes. Local Space: roll or yaw+roll Or Player Space.
@@FlickStickVids thanks
Ive tried gyro so many times but i just can't seem to get used to it 😢

Weird. It's working just fine for me.
Huuuuum... Disabling Steam beta Updates may help. If it doesn't, JoyShockMapper, DS4WINDOWS and reWASD all have decent gyro features.
Great info , but shows how complicated this can be and why some folks just dont bother
Everything gets easier when there's native support, but many devs don't have the time or resources to implement it yet. And sometimes the native support ain't great. The good thing about getting over the learning hump with SteamInput is that you can apply it to practically any game from then on. But yeah, no denying that it's a hurdle.

Will this also work on 3rd party controllers?
It depends. Most third party controllers are recognized by your PC as an xbox controller, if your controller is one of the few that can be recognized as a switch pro controller or as a Dualshock4 then yes! It will work with third party controllers ;D
@FlickStickVids yeah. That's my issue with my 3rd party controller (8bitdo ultimate). It's being recognized by steam as an xbox controller ☹️

I use DS4W over Steam input to set up gyro and it works perfectly.

So... Yeah :(

I'm failed
@Lynildps oh, I see.
