I watched all six episodes and it was put together very well except for some redundancy. Great reporting. I enjoyed it a lot. Now, will their be any reforms? Probably not. I still don't understand how can cops investigate cops. It's an oxymoron. As you can see it doesn't work. Cover, cover and more cover.

Police are to be held ABOVE reproach. They absolutely should be fired for "small" things like lying. Every dishonest and unfair action should be treated extremely seriously. Hypocrites cannot enforce law. They should be expedited to prison themselves for breaking one of the highest positions of trust in the land.

Until the police CHIEFS are held *professionally* accountable for updating the Brady List, they have no reason to comply.
Until the police UNIONS are held *financially* accountable for keeping bad officers on the force, they have no reason to NOT keep bad officers employed (because that bad officer is still a dues-paying member - money for the union accounts).

These are not just errors or misconduct in the sense that they violated department policy. They did violate department policy, but they’ve also, in many cases, committed a violent crime against a citizen of their community who they were supposed to be protecting, and serving. They should be fired, prosecuted, and never again allowed to be in law enforcement anywhere in the country! I believe that a zero tolerance approach to this would not only improve police relations in the community, but it would inspire a higher quality of applicants to law enforcement. These interactions are life-changing for the victims, and should be dealt with harshly, especially because of the authority they’ve abused as police officers!

As stated before. Nurses, doctors, teachers & more are accountable to the state board for disciplinary actions taken against an individual who has breached the code of ethics prescribed by the code of conduct for their profession. These disciplinary actions are part of a professional’s licensing renewal or to be used to suspend that person’s license to practice. Why is this not a mandatory practice for, of all things, policing in each 50 states of America. The Brady list should be pubic accessible & used to keep undesirable cops from hopping from one police department to another. With the hiring in a given profession accountability is paramount.

I have an experiment... now police officers have right too...so this would have to be done under a terms of employment exemption...Stop and search 1000 cops and their vehicles randomly and without warning and see how many "back up" guns are found and how many are not registered and untraceable. Perfect for planting.

  • @alisamapperson8807

    OMG! WARNING RANT.
Firstly to be a police officer you MUST be held to a higher accountability, otherwise you are no better than a murder on the streets, this includes reacting to people who will press your buttons your training should have taught you that. Secondly if you are worried about body cams what are you hiding.
The fact that an officer can be fired in one state and become a police officer in another leaves me speechless. ALL police officers should have a nationwide standard of training. And each investigation into a officers conduct should be handled by a outside organisation. The database or Brady's list should be mandatory and nationwide.
I just cannot believe how they act like the wild west without consequences

what's the issue here, if you lie on a report you broke the law, if you beat up a person you broke the law, if you beat some one who is handcuffed you broke the law, if you sexually assault some one (rape) you broke the law. Why is it that I can go into the records of a doctor, pharmacist, politician, and a whole host of other professions, but some how cops are immune to scrutiny? Treat cops like citizens are treated, you break the law, you are put on trial, either you are guilty or not, i dont see a issue here.

Only a truly incompetent prosecutor HAS a “default position” about any witness, police included. Especially police. You’ve already instilled institutional bias into your own judgment of every case. And that makes you supremely shitty at your job and someone who fundamentally misunderstands your role in the criminal justice system. I don’t say this lightly. I was a federal prosecutor for over a decade. I’ve walked more than a few miles in those shoes but was smart enough to know you never blindly trust anyone based on their position. It’s lazy, it’s wrong and ultimately is a losing strategy-in cases and in life.

the real problem is that our court started allow police officer to lie during interview "interrogations" so if they think they can lie, then they can lie any time, remember all they need is a high school diploma to be cops , so if you allow a high schooler to do something they think they can apply it to everything, I believe that a cop can lie when they have reasonable anticable suspicion of a "real crime" not a traffic violation, but not un till then, also I think it should be mandatory " federally" for police to tell you why they stop you when doing a traffic stop, the reason for this is because 2 thing will happen, 1 they bad guy will try to get away giving the officer the legality to arrest or detain the person, 2 the not guilty person wont have to be hurt by cop that don't want to give an answer about the stop, and I think supervisor should be mandatory to show if requested by civilian and they need to get at least 2 years of constitutional law under their belt to be able to be supervisor, if I don't have the right to know why I got stop by my employ, I should have the right not to pay taxes to cover that employ salary. we pay them we have the right to know everything about their job. and I think all the cops that are in the list should be moved to desk duty for 2 year then they can go back with matching salary for the job, will make them think twice about not telling the truth again

The group involve in creating this story should go from town to town and either find more criminals or find some of those good apples and do a similar story as an example of how to do it right

now who is getting locked up mostly children that make dumb mistakes and live to regret and they have to pay the full price with no mercy because the public where told want's them to be tough on crime only when it's a reg person and not the police or other officers shame is what it is hiding the truth that no one is perfect but the poor pay the bill
