  • Chia seeds are super nutritious and fun to eat.
They're used in a variety of recipes including puddings, pancakes and parfaits.
Chia seeds have the unique ability to absorb liquid and take on a gelatinous consistency. Because of this, they're often used as a thickener and can even be used as a vegan substitute for eggs in some baked goods.
In addition to their gelling and thickening properties, chia seeds are also known for their impressive variety of nutrients and potential health benefits.
Although chia seeds are a nutritious addition to most people's diets, their consumption can have some side effects.
This video explores the side effects of chia seeds.

Steel cut oats, in particular, contain a soluble fiber made up of beta glucans. Beta glucans form a unique gel-like substance when dissolved in water, and it is this substance that is thought to lower blood cholesterol levels as well as stabilize blood sugar levels
Steel cut oats are particularly rich in resistant starch and fiber, both of which may support weight loss, heart health, blood sugar control, and digestion. They're also a good source of iron and plant protein.
In clinical studies, particularly the “gold standard” of randomized clinical trials having a control group, WFPB diets have been repeatedly shown to reverse severe heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity. Go Whole Foods Plant Based No oil/sugar/salt. I follow Joel Furhman/Mike McGreger/Esselstyn for good health and my goal is to stay out of the hospital and nursing home as I age.
Now for my daily breakfast overnight steel cut oats after having fasted for 14 hours. First meal at 7 am and last meal at 4 pm.
      All organic:
      1 cup Unsweetened soy milk
4 tablespoons of steel cut oats
      Heavy sprinkles of cinnamon
      2 tablespoons of hemp seeds
2 tablespoons of ground chia seeds
2 tablespoons of ground flax seeds
      7 walnuts
1/2 cup of wild blue berries (I change up my berries)
1/2 cup of overcooked mixed lentils (red/black/green)
You are welcome to communicate with me anytime about good health. I live it and can prove through my lab values and high energy daily.
      I enjoy my G-BOMBS consistently.

Can someone please tell me how long I can store the dry chia seeds or how to store them after I bring them home? The last ones I bought do not have a “sell by” date on them. I bought at a bulk foods store so they were just in a plastic bag but they are organic. So I don’t want to discard if I can use them. I know that they are at least more than a year old.

I'm 68 and my doctor already gave me the "watch your carbs" talk.

    2 tablespoons chia seeds
    1 tablespoon cacao powder
    1 tablespoon dried blueberries
    1/2 cup of water
1 squirt of a blend of liquid stevia 1/3and liquid monk fruit 2/3.
