- Chia seeds are super nutritious and fun to eat.
They're used in a variety of recipes including puddings, pancakes and parfaits.
Chia seeds have the unique ability to absorb liquid and take on a gelatinous consistency. Because of this, they're often used as a thickener and can even be used as a vegan substitute for eggs in some baked goods.
In addition to their gelling and thickening properties, chia seeds are also known for their impressive variety of nutrients and potential health benefits.
Although chia seeds are a nutritious addition to most people's diets, their consumption can have some side effects.
This video explores the side effects of chia seeds.

I've been eating them for 20 years and have never had a problem
How though ?
I'm getting pain coz of this news😢
Is this true or not?
If you have issues then I suggest you try rheal berry beauty blend. It contains chia seeds, blueberries etc. no bs in the product
@@vigneshwarikailasam1425 The biggest problem with medical advise on YT!
I add 3TBLS of organic chia seeds to about 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 TBL of monk fruit mix and put in fridge overnight to two days. I add a dollop of plain Greek yogurt and fresh or frozen berries on top. D'lish 😋
Almond milk contains rapeseed oil and hardly has any almonds in it...avoid or make your own
I do the same...make chia pudding
Or overnight oats with chia seeds and greek yogurt and next morning add fresh fruits
Thank for the recipe! I will give it a try.
YUK!! I won't eat that concoction if you paid me!
Previously, I bought some protein shake that has ORGANIC chia seed in it, used it all up and it worked for me that kept me from being hungry excessively! I bought another shake, but it is a meal replacement shake this time, and I bought some chia seeds from Publix today and tried 2 teaspoons of chia seed, and kept me full throughout the entire evening. I love it! I've had no side effects from chia seeds at all, none whatsoever!
Do anyone wash their grind Chia seeds before adding the seeds to their food or drink?
I put mine in overnight oats and smoothies. They make for a good crunch in salads
Oats is nor good for your cells. Research it
I make pudding with it.Two tablespoons of chia with hot water and sweetener then when I go to have it i add cream and fruit.Infact I made it yesterday and it's in the fridge ready for me to eat it. I love it when refrigerated because it comes out creamy and thick. Thanks for the information and thanks to God for this beautiful creation.
I love chia! I put 2Tbs in my protein powder everyday. I always let it sit for awhile to make sure the chia is expanded. It becomes really thick like tapioca pudding. Love it!
That's how I eat mine too.
Be careful! Don't get stopped up
@@mynameisntruby2405 I'm not eating it anymore because of the carbs. Maybe at some point I may add it back but it's plant and my body really likes me being on carnivore. 💖💜💖

Daily, I prepare a tablespoon full of chia mixed with milk and waited it to expand. Chia seed is now a daily part of my son's meal, taken at breakfast. He has NAFLD and praying that by God's grace, will help his cholesterol, triglycerides, and liver enzymes will go down.
This is his 2nd week of taking chia seeds.

I add a couple spoons of chia and flax to my oatmeal every morning. My Oct blood pressure was 110/68, lowest ever for a 65 yr old. Also been eating plant based very little processed food for 7 yrs now. Also on no meds.
123/77 is what you could be looking for.
You have ideal BP, so dont worry. Baba Ramdev too has 110/70 BP and perfectly fit to do summersaults at your age. Since you are vegan, your BP is bound to be less than non vegetarians.
Wow that is a large amount, are you soaking them? I was using a pinch and they made me so sick, still with stomach pains 3 months later due to not soaking, didn't know I had to do that.
@@sylviagaston9453 I grind up whole flax and microwave it in the oatmeal, could be considered soaking. I have a stomach or kidney issue if I eat too many almonds. No peanuts since they're the bad fat omega 6.

Hello Natural Cures, yes, I pour either 1/2 or 1 tsp of Chia Seeds in my daily granola cereal with other healthy ingredients.
Thanks for this important information about the dangers of eating too much Chia Seeds.
(2tsp chia + 2tsp sesame + 2tsp sunflower + 2tsp flaxseed), grind it, mix with 250 gm curds + 250 gm water and consume as the first thing in the morning. Just wonderful !!
It needs to be soaked that all seeds your talking about right?
I get milled chia from Aldi, which soaks the almond milk that I add more quickly. I add 5 grams (about 1 table spoon) to my muesli everyday for breakfast.
Muchad gracias, no me había percatado de que ya habían subtítulos!! 👍👏
I thought I was fully hydrated! Shortly after starting a routine of eating chia seeds everyday! Ended up in Ergent care with a blockage in my intestines. Please soak these seeds and stay hydrated.
Thank you for sharing! Glad you're okay now.
Because you didn't let them expand in some liquid before consuming them
I love chia and how it’s so easy to eat. On my dr’s advice I soak two tbs chia overnight in about 1/3 ratio seeds to water. Then I take one tbs soaked chia before every meal. I never have constipation.
Well yes I am type 1 diabetic my wife has blood pressure issues and my young son is into sports. We have been having Chia for years what we do is make a smoothie night before consuming it ie ingredients in but not switching it on. Never had any issues. 😊
Have had Any good Results since u been taking it?
For convenience of getting out of the house each day, the night before I prep four or five glasses of one tablespoon chia seeds, squirt of lemon juice and teaspoon of maple syrup, great to drink the next morning. Also i had been doing two tablespoons but found that did cause constipation, one tbsp daily is fine. I grind my flax seeds and sprinkle into yogurt or whatever hot meal of typically variety of fish, beans or plant based pasta, kale or spinach plus avocado later in the day. Thanks much for the information!
Don't use maple syrup,use coconut cream ❤
I make flax bread and include 2x tbs chia. Recipe: 4 tbs ground flax seed, 2 tbs chia, half teaspoon baking powder, salt, 2x egg whites. Mix thoroughly, roll into a ball, microwave for 2.5 mins , ready! Slice, toast = brilliant low carb bread alternative. You can add any other seeds.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks
Can’t wait to try!
I read a comment of someone who got sick and had a diagnose after eating chia seeds. I think it’s good to be well informed before making any choice. I heard a doctor that knows a lot about gut, that everyone is different. And one food that is good for one person it doesn’t mean it’s good for another.
Absolutely, it’s not a one size fits all for anything or anyone in the real world!
I use chia seeds on my peanut butter and jam toast to balance all omegas 3,6,9 since peanut butter has only omega 6 ……. I also put some cinnamon on my toast to prevent blood spikes .
I like chia seeds. It is very good for health
I add a heaped dessert spoon on cereal with milk. I have done this for about 3 years and never had any problems.
I don't soak them first but grind them in a coffee grinder together with other seeds and put a tablespoon over my breakfast...been
Doing it for years & no problem
Thank you 😊
I take 1/2 a cup of almond milk, add 2 tblspns of chia, 1 tblsp of organic unsweetened cacao powder, 1/2 tsp stevia, 1/2 tsp cinnamon mix well and leave overnight in fridge. In the morning I add a little bit of seeds and chopped nuts, small amount of protein powder, a few frozen berries, a slice or two of frozen banana, mix and enjoy. Holds me from early in the morning until lunchtime.
This is dr. Mandel recipe ...Great 👍🏻
I always grind my chia seeds. I soak it overnight before I consume next morning with breakfast.
2 high fiber Kashi blueberry waffles. Little bit of whipped cream, sprinkled with 1 teaspoon each of chia seeds and the 1 teaspoon of ground golden flax seed topped with a handful of blueberries every other day! For the last 2 years
55 years old, no more BP meds, no more Cholesterol meds, and I’ve lost 25 pounds (back down to 165)
Goodbye fatty liver also!!!
Wow !
I like to eat chia like breakfast cereal with unsweetened almond milk , monk fruit sweetener , vanilla extract , cinnamon and berries . I let it sit 5 to 10 minutes. Till it puffs up and looks like porridge but Its still a little crunchy 😋
Lol I bought these EXACT ingredients. I figured although honey has great benefits it also contains sugar which can spike your insulin. I'm not diabetic but would prefer monk fruit which does the opposite for insulin.
I’ve been making chia pudding in the evening and have it with frozen fruit for breakfast. It’s delicious and it expands overnight. 😁👍🏽
I just soaked my 4 tablespoons of seeds in a cup of water, (keep stirring through the whole process) then poured 11 cups of Jamaican me crazy coffee over it, a tablespoon of organic coconut, xylitol, and stevia to taste, let it sit some more, and cool before adding 2 tablespoons of MCT oil drank 1/3 of it letting the rest get cold in fridge before having 1/2 of that. Super filling.
Xylitol and stevia are toxic as sugar substitutes. Do the research.
Thank you
I prep a TBSP in a little cup and add water to expand, and leave in frig overnight. Place in my Greek yogurt in the morning, add granola and fresh or dried fruit. That is my daily breakfast
So if I do chia water over night can I drink it when I first wake then eat my breakfast like a hour later
@@Theonlymilah yes, it's best to prep it, to soften it, easier to digest
Love Chia, take it in the morning.
I make my blended protein smoothie every day. Love it ❤
A glass of water, and 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds, leave for 10 - 30 minutes, add a little lemon juice and drink it. However, I now know why my blood pressure drops from time to time - will be more careful in the future, and probably take a pinch of salt after taking Chia. Salt and coffee raise blood pressure.
I always drink chia seeds with water and lemon too !!
Yes, hv heard this, but usually let stand in milk or yoghurt for a few mins; never had any problems at all.
I heard about starting chia seeds cautiously cuz it can cause constipation or diarrhea, depends on the body. I just started Chia seeds today. I mixed 1/3 cup Chia seeds with 2 cups water, left it in the fridge for 3-24 hours and mixed just 2 tbsp expanded seeds in my smoothie. Crossing my fingers it works for lowering my blood pressure!
Never overdo any good remedy. Just a teaspoon or two at a time may give better results with least side effects. It absorbs plenty of water, so use little seeds with full glass of water.
It cleanses the hell out of me. I love them

What is stevia chocolate syrup ?…. Do you mean the chocolate flavored drops ?
@@mariabubb455 It's NuNaturals. They have all kinds of stevia products. The syrup comes in vanilla and plain besides the chocolate. They also have powdered sweetener that I use to make lemon Kool-Aid. I also put sliced lemons in it. It's great for iced tea too.
I put a handful of chia in my homemade cookies to get a little into our diet.

I blend the chia seeds and add 3 or 3 tablespoons to almost every meal of the day. I've learnt my lesson to drink whole lot of water when taking chia seeds, otherwise going to toilet would be a huge challenge. Contrary to what is said in the video, I see chia seeds as anti diarrhea.
I put them in my protein shake after my workout. I soak them first in water for 10 minutes. Then I add them to my shake. Whip it up then enjoy. I hope I’m doing it right. Thanks.
You have to soak them for hours and preferably over night to avoid problems to your gastro intestinal tract as it expands and enlarge in size.
I take 2bs with lemon cinnamon and honey every morning on a empty stomach 😊
I use it to help stop my diarrhea (IBS-D) because it gels and seems to slow the colonic spasms, allowing a solid poop to form and pass completely and easily.
There seems to be some misguidance in this video. Chia seeds are beneficial even for diabetic and low blood pressure patients.
I put two wheatbix in a bowl, a tablespoon of chia seeds and a tablespoon of Psyllium. I add some sliced peaches in natural juice, half a medium banana cut up, low fat milk and microwave for two minutes and ten seconds. I add it my oatmeal with berries and apple pieces, cinnamon and maple syrup ( no sugar syrup) ,and add it to my protein drink in the afternoon.
Sugar from whatever source is still sugar.
Chia seeds are best absorbed by the body if they are ground up with a machine.
I eat with natural yogurt, honey and chia and pumkin seeds
I make chia seed pudding out of about 2 tbsp. chia, organic cocoa (lots), 1 can coconut milk and maple syrup and/or monk fruit in a quart canning jar. Overnight in the fridge.
I’m going to try it with ground chia and blended fruit. Dates for sweetener. Or?

@@lydiapetra1211
Steel cut oats, in particular, contain a soluble fiber made up of beta glucans. Beta glucans form a unique gel-like substance when dissolved in water, and it is this substance that is thought to lower blood cholesterol levels as well as stabilize blood sugar levels
Steel cut oats are particularly rich in resistant starch and fiber, both of which may support weight loss, heart health, blood sugar control, and digestion. They're also a good source of iron and plant protein.
In clinical studies, particularly the “gold standard” of randomized clinical trials having a control group, WFPB diets have been repeatedly shown to reverse severe heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and obesity.
