1. Adding a sweetener
2. Only using nut milk in the base
3. Using a granola topping

will maple syrup make me gain weight?
@@anjaliarun5902 yes
If you are gaining weight from just eating a small jar of chia pudding, then you are doing something wrong somewhere else. LMAO
Or you're already extremely underweight.
If you're eating it a lot it could be a problem.
@@tantanmustdie No, that's literally nothing in terms of calories compared to so may other things.
People want to eat close to zero calories...wtf is wrong with people nowadays?
@@analyticalchick3064 But eating everything a lot could be a problem...why this argument.
eating one dessert of that type per day is literally nothing.
@@lilosurmer4466 let's say an extremely underweight person consumes 1,100 calories a day at 41 kg. A glass of chia pudding a day (with all the things in the video added) could help them gain weight. Obviously not just literally 1 cup.
Am I the only one who eats chia not for weight loss but for uhhh, fibre,,, for pooping....? no? I have IBS so need to get some sort of laxative lol
TMI 😅🤣🤦🏾
How do you take it ?
@@sanoberjeelani8293 35g chia seeds, 150ml almond (or anyt kind) milk, mix, and let set. when set top with fruit, put in fridge and eat
I hate chia, but IBS fiber gang!
I eat it for fats
Me : worried chia pudding is going to stop me losing weight
Also me : eats large slice of chocolate cake without any worry about calories
🤣same
💃💃💃
Guilty 🤦🏽♀️
Lololololololop
😂 I relate!!!
I am very skinny at 22 and this video helped me to plan for my weight gain because everything on the internet is all about weight loss
Same. I have been watching videos like this then doing the opposite of the advice to hopefully gain some weight. Everything is about weight loss now, I wish there was advice for people who need help gaining weight.
Bingo I’m trying to gain weight.
Then use more fat
Mistake #1 is not grinding the chia seeds first. When you don't grind them you get almost none of the omega-3 or protein content, and only get the insoluble fiber benefit of chia seeds. So, either grind them or use the pre-ground form.
I’ve found that grating 1/2 lemon rind into the almond milk when mixing in the chia seeds gives the pudding a nice mellow and amazing lemon flavor. It’s goes really well with berries or whatever.
I hope your lemons are organic. If not, you are grating pesticides.
Thank you for this idea
Sounds yummy!
@@alicia-hd2cs bro shut up lmao
Omg!!🤦
If you want to avoid honey, syrups, stevia, you can add puréed dates, which I do sometimes when I want to get away from maple syrup or honey all the time.
Hi, I've bought chia seeds but not used them yet, I wanted to make a hot chia pudding being vegan dates sound perfect !! Thanks 🙏💎🙏
Great idea, thank u❤
This is EXACTLY what I do! It’s absolutely delicious😋.
Another high protein ideal… cottage cheese, chia seeds, few table spoons of greek yogurt and few tablespoons of a milk your choice, 1-1/4 tea cinnamon and berries of choice. Top with 1-2 tablespoons of unsalted nuts. So darn good! Almost dessert worthy.
Th
Measurements, please?
if you make your own granola (super easy)
oats
pumpkin seeds
sunflower seeds
almonds
maple syrup
oil
vanilla extract
cinnamon
salt
then it's a great healthy topping for chia seed pudding
Autumn you seriously have no idea how much your information is needed on RUclips. I am new to the whole RUclips world, especially those channels that cover helpful information like health, nutrition, keto and recipes. Your channel is amazing because the information you put out there is backed by scientific fact and explains in layman’s terms what exactly s happening inside the body and how certain recipes work towards achieving your goals while others keep you in a state of confusion causing you to make the same mistakes over and over until ultimately quitting, therefore being stuck in the same rut you started in. Not this time!!! I’ve watched sooooo many of your videos over and over again and am so grateful for them. Your chia seed base recipe is brilliant. I made some yesterday and couldn’t wait to have it for tomorrows breakfast so I had it for dinner last night and then again this morning for breakfast. I can’t wait to purchase the frozen raspberries !! Please keep the information coming!
I made the chia pudding you showed in another video for the first time, I didn't expect too much because i am not a big fan of greek yoghurt.. IT WAS FIRE. Very good! Had it with rasberries and a bit of almond butter. Very good! Thanks for the great information
love how you mentioned the hormones involved in digestion
I've made your chia porridge a few times in the last and I literally realized yesterday I was using the wrong coconut cream. I was buying the "cream of coconut" with *17 grams* of added sugar lol I made it the RIGHT way and my satiety kicks in right after I eat it. So delicious!
Crazy how much of a difference that can make!
WHAT... OMG... I have not even looked at that label. OH NO...
Well GREAT... Ugggg Yep.. I too have been using the GOYA brand of coconut cream & it has 18g of carbs & 18g of SUGAR per 2 TBSP. GREAT.. NOW which brand does everyone suggest?
This is what I came here to ask. I couldn't believe how sweet it tasted without any added sweetener so I read the label and thought about the sugar. I got the wrong one too. Didn't realize there was a difference between coconut cream and cream of coconut.
@@amyshoemaker1566 So I just happened upon this channel and this video.. sorry I'm late. lol..
I've been looking a lot into making things for myself and was trying to find out how to make my own cream of coconut.. what I discovered was that most cream of coconut or coconut cream is basically like a coconut simple syrup! 👀
I have yet to actually look into making my own unsweet coconut cream BUT the brand I recently discovered is the Thai Kitchen UNSWEETENED Coconut Cream.
It has 0 added sugars,
I don't use sweetener, but I use whole milk, unsweetened cocoa, and PB fit.
If I want to sweeten it, I will put some of my banana into it.
Try the no suger instant jello mix the cheesecake flavor like not even a tablespoon makes it so good in mine I shredded weight eating overnight oats in am
At one of my meetings with Autumn, she pointed out that I was putting way tooooo much dried fruit (loads of sugar) on my chia pudding. Now I only use fresh fruit and nuts. Thanks Autumn! 😊
Another good point! Thanks for sharing :)
How much dried fruit is too much ? Do you have a measure ?
I just got diagnosed with Insulin resistance yesterday so the sweetener tips were so helpful! Tysm! ❤
I love that you have the credentials to parallel your advice! It really makes a difference when the ear can hear educated, scientific and well explained information..,thank you!!
Be reasonable. If you listen to someone with the same credentials they give different recommendations. They are consistently citing studies and what does that have to do with their credentials?? Be honest, she doesn't look healthy at all. She looks unwell.
I think she has an eating disorder. calorie counting and restricting sugar (if you're not diabetic) is disordered.
I tried this last night and I really, really like it. I have tried lots of recipes for Chia pudding and they all were runny and sweet. This recipe was nice and thick without any sugar except the fresh raspberries that I added to it and it was delicious. I want to try it with blackberries and with the coconut cream. Thank you for sharing this recipes with us. I definitely have to subscribe to your channel!
I’m actually here tryna learn how to gain weight, so thank you for this video I will be sure NOT to avoid these things 🙂
SAME! XD
Chia seeds are pretty calorically dense so it's a good option. Using real milk can also get the calories up.

I was thinking this 😂

I'm a recently retired dentist who has neglected my own weight situation for years. Now, with nothing to do all day, I have decided to lose weight. I'm old, but I walk my border collies 4-5 miles daily for exercise. I recently began eating chia pudding in place of the other garbage I was eating. You are correct...I was using too much honey and too little protein. Although I was adding about a quarter cup of Kefir. Thanks for this info to get me on the right track! SUBSCRIBED
If I may say, I follow everything you say like a bible! Your facts and information have worked wonders for me! I love it how you keep it straight and simple.
Ah, that's wonderful! So happy to hear that!
Me too, it all works for me. I love it
So glad to have found your channel. I appreciate your background and education/training and keto tips. I`ll be looking forward to watching your content.
I make 2 cups chia pudding with coconut milk, chia, 1 tsp. sweetener, raw coconut, vanilla extract and almond extract. Hubby and I split it for dessert. I think adding vanilla and almond extracts really make it taste more sweet. We are hooked on raw toasted coconut right now! Thanks for that tip.
Raw toasted coconut. RAW.....TOASTED....which is it?

Really appreciate these videos- spreading the truth on what healthy/clean eating really is and how these little things interact with your body you’re awesome 🌹
This was great, I love the fact that you added the vernacular of your profession. If I could I’d rate this video a ten out of ten
Insulin when high shuts off fat burning. Wow. Oh my goodness . This is so helpful. I've got to watch this video again
🌞 Thank for "pudding" things in perspective!! 🍧😉
You Rock Autumn!! ⚘
Cheers! ☕🌬🕊♥️
ahhh that was a good one
😂😂 agreed, that was a good one
I like keeping it simple. Unsweetened almond milk, chia seeds, protein powder, and lots of cinnamon. I'll shake it up in my blender bottle ( because protein powder is hard to mix sometimes) and then pour into a serving size and stick it in the fridge for a bit. I think my favorite is chocolate almond milk and chocolate protein powder. That chocolate cinnamon flavor is very nice!

Thank you for your presentation!!

Blessings to everyone!!
I also usually use coconut milk (like the one in the can for cooking, not the drink variety), makes the pudding so creamy!
This is awesome! I've always loved the look of chia puddings but I no longer eat sugar and have held off making these because many recipes call for granola or honey ect. I'm doing this tomorrow!!!!
you will find frets fruit will add t the sweetness especially bananas in moderation, but I love raspberries blueberries and strawberries all great additions.
Inulin is my favourite sweetener. Its just a water soluble fiber. I'm going to start adding it to all my recipes.
I use xylitol for my sweetener, studies show it helps with wrinkles/aging.
Can you do a video for some Chia Seed Pudding recipes that fits the requirements above?? Would really love it and be helpful 😍
Coming VERY soon!🤓
@@AutumnBates thank you
Also using kefir with Greek yogurt for the base works well! So creamy!!
Great video, as always! I'd love to see a video about your thoughts on healing diastasis recti.
You nailed it!!!!!!! I just subscribed!!! I love your science backed information. 💕
Great info thank you. I’ll be tuning in ☺️
Great new video update, Autumn!❤️
You can use low carb granola like the Keto Hana granola that is so delicious and using a small amount natural sweeteners. Or you can make your own home made no sugar granola.
Its so delicious with coconut cream and I use coconut sugar as well. So satisfying and satiating for sure!! Good to know I’m on the right track hehe 🙌🏻
Fantastic video, thank you! Just started making chia pudding for part of my breakfast, this helped so much!
Autumn thank you thank you thank you for sharing your info & keeping it simple to understand. I have LOVED the chia seed pudding with the coconut milk & coconut cream. I traded out the raspberries with blue berries & added stevia. I keep coming back & back to all your videos.
@Alex Zarkadas Great idea!!!!
My pudding is 13g of chia seeds, 15g of hemp hearts, 15g of PB&ME(Peanut butter powder) 1 tsp of Monk fruit splenda, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 cup water. Its a delicious addition to my breakfast. I'm going to start adding in 1 Tbsp of flax seeds as well.
Make sure you ground the flaxseeds and keep them in your fridge or they will go rancid quick. My chia pudding go to is I prepare by pouring 2 cups or more of unsweetened cashew milk into 4 tablespoons of Chia pudding add some cinnamon and stir until it starts to thicken. Leave it for a few minutes and repeat the stirring and then put it in the fridge for overnight.
after you can PLACE two TBSPNS OF CHIA PUDDING INTO EACH mason jar and then top it off with Greek yogurt. I then add or mix in blueberries, preferably wild and organic a few pieces of walnuts some pumpkin seeds and I have it for breakfast keeps me full until the evening. No need for sweeteners as the berries sweeten it enough. But if you must have use monk fruit or stevia. I definitely like my fruit better. It tastes exactly like sugar, but I don’t like my thing sweet so I don’t even add monk fruit to it and there you have it a perfect breakfast and lunch meal that is full of good nutrition and fiber and keep you full for most of the day!
I'm new to your vlogs and glad I found you, great info! Thanks Autumn
I really appreciated the information you provided in this video about the common mistakes people make with chia pudding that can lead to weight gain. The explanations were clear and easy to understand, making it very helpful. Additionally, the recipes shared were straightforward and easy to make. I tried them out, and my mom loved them too!
I will definitely be using this information and sharing it with others who might benefit from it.
Speaking from personal experience, I used True Elements chia seeds in these recipes, and they turned out amazing. Thank you for sharing such valuable insights and these helpful tips!
Good job. Great information about Satiety. Been on Keto a long time and couldn’t understand this concept of still feeling hungry until you explained it. Thank you.
I’m dairy-free and I like to do:
White chia seeds
Splenda
A splash of vanilla extract
Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Topped with fresh a few blackberries
However, I notice that it swells better in some milk than other. It swelled best in rice milk but rice milk has too many calories for snack. Any ideas?
Maybe swell it in water first, then add the milk later on.
I tried this recipe and I really appreciate the unique way you prepared it! The insights about chia pudding mistakes were quite informative.
In my personal experience, making sure to soak the chia seeds properly and not adding too much sweetener made a big difference in the texture and taste of the pudding.
One more thing, I used True Elements Chia Seeds, and they worked perfectly in this recipe. Thank you for sharing such helpful tips and a delicious recipe!
This is very helpful thank you so much.
Well since my goal is to actually gain weight😁 I’ll be doing these ‘mistakes’🙈
@@humanorange7536 i find honey to be a healthier sweetener so i use it often☺️

How much berries should you eat a day to not go overboard? I love berries but I know I probably eat too many at a time when I have them.

Thanks for your video
I put 2 table spouns of chia seeds in 2 glasses of water for 2 hours
Then I put 1 table spoun of Organic wild honey 🍯 & had it for lunch 😅✅😅
That was my lunch
I hope to loos weight in that manner 🥰🥰🥰
i do my chia pudding always the same way:
- chia seeds, flax seeds, unsweetened almond milk and peanut butter
the healthy fats presented in the flax seeds and peanut butter, as well as the protein makes me full for longer, i eat it early in the morning even if im not hungry at all and it keeps me full until lunch and sometimes im not even hungry. you should eat even if you're not hungry, the principal meals, because if you dont you can lower your metabolism causing even more difficult weight loss.
eat healthy, do exercise, be happy 😇🌺
Do you grind your flax seeds?
@@pwc9119 i dont but im gonna start doing it🤣 sometimes it gets boring with all the seeds
@@lauras8fia i understand it is not safe to not blend flax seeds before consuming. So i have since purchased a coffee grinder. But i do love your recipe idea! Thanx for your awesome comment!
@@pwc9119 thank you so so much for telling me! today i grinded my flaxseeds and the pudding tasted so much better

1/2 small frozen banana
1 scoop chocolate pea protein powder
1 scoop collagen peptide powder
1 Tbsp chia, hemp and flax seed mixture
1 cup raw spinach
1 to 2 ice cubes if you want a thinner consistency
Wow. Thank you. I love your channel 🥰💕
Loved this video.
Are they actually teaching sugar spikes insulin and insulin shuts off weight loss as part of the nutritionist curriculum now?
Good evening autumn, I have been using whey protein isolate collagen peptides in chia seeds in my shaker. It fills me up I thought the science would say that's what you need but today I was listening to someone that said whey protein powder it's like insulin so if you eat it with any fats it dumps those fats into your cells. That makes me wonder if I'm making things harder on myself by adding the Chia seed fat to my whey protein shake. If you have any information that you like to share I'd appreciate it thank you. I love you videos

Hi, Autumn... I just discovered your channel and subscribed.
I'm curious though... I've recently discovered and started using Allulose as a sugar substitute and I think it is definitely the most comparable to sugar only about 70% as sweet. I'm just curious to know if you're familiar with Allulose at all and what your thoughts may be on it ?
If it really does not metabolize and spike glucose or insulin AND it still tastes like sugar, wouldn't that make it like the Holy Grail of sugar substitutes!? How come more people aren't talking about it? 😏
I also love Allulose. Can’t stand the taste of monk fruit or stevia
Hi. I’m confused. Can we use honey or maple syrup. I tend to use these as a drizzle. Your PB cookies also have these ingredients in? Thanks
Add sweetener, just not too much.

I am using this to help an elderly lady gain weight. I thought this is a great way to keep it healthy but yet high in calories.... adding things like nut butter as well when I blend it.
Hey I have a chia pudding question. What’s a “serving” if it’s chia coconut milk and vanilla with a bit of raspberry? How much raspberries or berries is a serving
@Bitterman She’s asking what is the recommended serving for a recipe that contains -coconut milk-, vanilla, chia and a bit of raspberry, she wasn’t only asking for the serving of raspberries lmao. Coconut milk is fatty, yes, but it taste hella good, she prob knows it’s fatty and is asking the recommended serving size so she doesn’t gain to much weight from consuming it.
I would go with the recommended serving on the carton of coconut milk. Also, measure your ingredients!
Miss Fit and Nerdy makes Chia seed pudding. I have never tried making it. I just use chia seeds in smoothies. I usually eat breakfast between 7 and 7:30, lunch between 11:30 and 12:30 and dinner around 6 or 7 pm. I make sure there's a lot of solid protein for breakfast and lunch (chicken, beef, fish, cheese) and then dinner is usually a greek yogurt based smoothie or hummus with veggies and pretzels (if I had enough protein already).
Outstanding Commentary!!! Thank You!!
So helpful thanks 🙏😘
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
I've just gotten into chia pudding.
I was wondering about the addition of granola. I go back and forth between granola, coconut flakes and almonds.
Now, I think I'll move granola to when I'm doing a meal replacement.
Can you use slivered almonds instead of coconut flakes, etc.?
Thank you my question using raspberry I have tried raspberry in a smoothie but those seeds I can not take that .
Tree bark is a great alternative with chia too to keep you full. 😂. Couldn’t help myself. I agree we eat and drink a lot of things that can add to weight gain but generally if we are eating healthy, exercising, intermittent fasting, can’t we indulge once in a while.
I do appreciate your advice. Love your keto coffee recipe!
Everything you said went right over my head

what is your take on xylitol for sweetning?
Should chia seeds be grounded to get full benefit?
They are best left whole in pudding. 🙂
She said in a video whole or ground is pretty much the same. It’s flax seed that needs to be ground
I add water or a nut milk, cinnamon, no syrups or sweaters but spice, fruit or vegetables of the dark green type
This is the first video I saw of yours and I already subscribed. Great content. I was wondering, what you think of Quinoa?
