This gave me confidence to just remove one of the keycaps that had something stuck under it. Everything is perfect again, thank you so much for the video, man!
THANK YOU!!! Pro 7 spilt a glass of wine on the keyboard last fall. Husband was going to just throw it away last night. I removed all the tabs with a tiny electronic flat head screw driver. Cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, q tips and tiny cuticle pusher with cotton wrapped on the tip. NO MORE sticky keys!!! works beautifully. The only thing I would do different...is..NOT soak the key tabs in the rubbing alcohol. The keys have a laminate wrap and the edges started to lift. So I had to file the edges with a nail file and then touched up with a black Permanente marker. Also under the key pads there is a white plastic tabs that the key pads snap onto. they can be lifted up some, ( like a "x" ) to clean under them. I now will be offering surface keyboard cleaning out of my home!! and renting the Saved one out to my husband!!! lol
Good sir, thank you, my R and 4 keys broke due to taking the keyboard out of my backpack like a cave man during class, I got a only for parts keyboard for cheap to use the keys as replacement since Microsoft doesn't provide any, and online they are $11 for each key, so I spent $24 bought a whole keyboard off mercari, your video helped me change the keys safely with out breaking the new ones.
Hey Thanks a lot! My D key was allways messing with me since i bought it. And now it suddenly stopped working. I opened it now and there was a little plastic ring weddged in to the mechanism. Now its working better than ever
The same thing happened to me yesterday but instead of blow it up I tried to suck it with a vacuum cleaner and suddenly one of the buttons got sucked off and i was like😬😬 fortunately It didn't break and put it back and pressed it and it was back to normal I still have like a bunch of them are sticking a bit after pressing them..but I have big hands and I can't even risk it😂 BTW thanks for the useful video! 👍🏻👍🏻
I don't what happened, but my space bar feels like something sticky got under there, and it's beyond annoying! I looked everywhere to figure out if I could take it off and clean it up without f*cking it up. This was my '20 xmas & March '21 bday gift, and it's my baby! I'm so scared, because OF COURSE it would be the biggest, and one of the most important keys...wish me luck...😬🤞
did you succeed? I was prying my space bar and it made a crack that scared me and it broke, but I managed to get it back in place and it's normal now. I'm scared to try again
@@derekhuang1701 That cracking sound scared me, too. 😬 I stopped trying and used a qtip I whittled down, slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol, to try to clean up under the edges as best I could. That seemed to work, so I was stoked I wouldn't have to take it all the way apart. But it didn't last so I had to do it for real. It was scary, but once you get past that first *CrAcK* (😬🙉) it's a piece of cake. 😁
@@briannec2016 I was going to try cleaning under tge spacebar because that's where most of the soup I spilled on it went. But the connection issues jave forced me to buy a new one, surface keyboards are a scam, gonna be more careful

I needed a D key but thanks to you now I used the ` key instead of buying another keyboard.
Dude, I just got my keyboard fixed because of your video. I changed a key. Many Thanks!

Worked for my surface 8 keyboard. Thanks!
Someone swapped around my keys, this helped me fix it. Thankyou.
Thanks for your video that gives me the courage to disassemble the keycap from my Surface laptop 3 and fix the problem😂😂
Brillant video, thank you man
You helped a college kid like me. Right on man
Is the trackpad removable, I spilled soup in there
Thanks for the video. Was perfect.
I was irresponsible and the backspace key came off. It's different than all the rest, IDK how to put it back on

Thank you. Dont attempt to lift the spacebar 😑
Very helpful 🙂👍🏻
I removed PgUp key. After cleaning with alcohol, the key doesn't fit like before. The white 2 parts didn't attach correctly. What should I do?
Ill tell you what'll happen. That white piece is a pain, I got it back on
0:50 so you need a Razer Blade to repair a Surface Pro? kappa
how to fix the enter key you removed?
put the metal rails back on and try to click it back into place.
