Well, I did the replacement w/o being able to do the "TDM Replacement Mode" step using SDT. Also, for some reason doing calibration doesn't bring up the application (crashes?) which it didn't work either with the old original screen...not sure what gives. I bought the replacement screen via Microsoft which iFixit seems to be running their logistics. I didn't get any "Cam Adjustment" tools, but otherwise the kit was pretty thoughtful. Extra screws and shields in case you messed up somewhere. No closure seals so I guess I won't be replacing those. Also, I got two (~0.5") squares of "double sided" tape...not sure what that is for.
I have the SDT for my Surface Laptop 4. Went to "Select a run type > Repair > Repair setup and validation "Select" > Touch Display Repair (Setup) > Run selected tests" and got a "Failed". Says 'NCPTransportAccessNcp.Transportfactory' threw an exception. No other information. The instructions say this is necessary, but can't get it to Pass. Any ideas? I got a panel from MS/iFixit and not sure if I should continue the swap. The instruction manual says I must be in TDM Replacement Mode prior in big bold letters. Honestly, there isn't anything else to help in this regard.
Man, legit need a video about the keyboard replacement for the laptop 3 since Microsoft stopped selling them

What about tightening the hinge?? I would think this would be one of the most important things since the laptop hinge on this thing is trash.
Very informative video thank you... I wished Microsoft made decent removable feet
I wonder if this Laptop can use power directly from the charging adapter if the battery is damaged or there is no battery?
Where is the display replacement software available from?
It's the surface diagnostic tool
@@chrisblack6258 No, I have that, it's something else.

@@nohandlehere55 I can't get the thing to work either, so I replaced my screen without setting it up, and my device works still.
