Ill show you here what to watch out for and how to remove and install a key safely :) If you need help with a larger sized key, refer to this video; • How To Fix Replace Key... . FAQ's:
Q: My Key Cap will not click down in place correctly. What's wrong?
A: If the key assembly is not installing correctly, its either due to a component being damaged and needing to be replaced or a component not being orientated correctly. I would disassemble the key as seen here in this video and inspect for damage. If there is no damage, install the key. If there is damage, replace the key. Would you like help locating a key? If so, what is the brand and model for your computer?
Q: My Retainer Clip will not fasten down correctly.
A: If the Retainer Clip does not fasten correctly to the Keyboard, there can be several reasons. The Retainer Clip could be orientated or assembled incorrectly. The Retainer Clip's pins could be broken or damaged. The metal pins on the Keyboard could be bent out of place or otherwise damaged.
Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?
A: If you break or damage any component of the key assembly, you would have to replace it. I usually get my keys on Ebay or www.replacementlaptopkeys.com. If you cannot find a loose key for sale, you may have to purchase a keyboard and take a key from there.
Q: I have a Key or Keys that are not working. Will this fix them?
A: This video is a tutorial on how to replace a key. If your keys are not working but are not mechanically broken, troubleshoot them as seen here; • How To Fix Troubleshoo... .
Q: The hinge clip came apart into two pieces. How can I reassemble?
A: They fit together with a small plastic pin on the left and right of the inner clip. These fit into holes on the outer clip. To see exactly how the inner clip sits in the outer clip, remove another key cap and copy the clip under it.
Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.
Q: The Hinge Clip came off with the Key Cap. What do I do?
A: Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, using a small flat pry tool.

@@PomThaBunnyh If your Key Cap is not clicking down in place correctly, it is most likely due to the Retainer Clip not being properly installed or damaged. Remove the Cap and inspect for damage or that its not laying down flush and properly snapped in itself. Compare to another Clip if needed by removing another Cap.

If you have a retainer clip that came apart, it's fixable! I figured I'd add this process here in case it helps someone. I'm not sure if the orientation of the pieces matters but I'll be as specific as possible since it worked for me. I have a Dell laptop, I'm pretty sure it's the same one in this video, so it should work.
There's 2 pieces, the big one and the small one. Make sure to locate the holes on the inside of the big piece, and the pegs on the sides of the small piece. If you have an assembled retainer clip on hand, it might be helpful to use it as reference.
Step 1: With the big piece, find the wider end. It's sort of in a wavy shape with 3 "bumps," place it flat on the table with the 1 bump up.
Step 2: With the small piece, find the end with the wider square holes. That end will be over the wavy end of the big piece.
Step 3: Slot the left peg on the small piece into the left hole in the big piece.
Step 4: Use a finger to hold that side in place. The right peg should be resting above the right hole, not in yet.
Step 5: Using a fine hook/pick tool, carefully hook it on the plastic beside the right hole. Then GENTLY pull it outwards, (if you pull too hard/far it will snap). The plastic will bend just enough to give space for the peg to slot into the hole.
Step 6: They should now be slotted together. You can use your finger to test and make sure the pieces move like a hinge.
Step 7: From here on you can proceed to reconnect it to the keyboard like he did in the video.
I hope this is helpful, I tried to use the best wording I could for it to make sense ^^

Fabulous! It works!😀 In my case, the retainer clip had gotten detached from the bottom. It went off with the key. Then I removed from the key using a screwdriver (similar to video). Then I managed to re-attach it to the bottom (as in the video, perhaps by slightly pushing the metal hooks back, since they appear to have bent down under pressure). And then the key cap went back on. So happy!

Tip to others (for keys "O" "Z" "X" "I" "N" "S" - these look identical when upside down) - On the back of the key there are 4 tiny clips. The lower part of the key has the 2 clips that are farther apart. I was worried I'd break the white clip if I had it upside down and pressed it into place. The good news is that it just won't snap if upside down.
