- Today I will be in the studio demonstrating my techniques for oil painting, with one large palette knife!
During the creation of this work, there will be plenty of inspirational footage of the ruggedly beautiful gorges and waterhole of the area. This was captured on my most recent Plein Air trip.
Enjoy the tranquil serenity of these rugged gorges as I move luscious slabs of thick oil paint around the canvas and explain my colour mixing and compositional thoughts as I go!

As always a pleasure to watch you paint Richard. Your studio palette looks interesting, as does your easel. Looks like you have been creative how you have the linen panel stabilized so you could put it straight into your art trailer studio. Seems to me another short video of "how you have your studio set up" would be good, especially that palette.

An absolute masterpiece! I never realized paint could be purchased in large cans or "caulking" guns. Sure is an advantage to being able to replace the paint back into a can! ...and talk about ease of cleaning a palette knife compared to cleaning a brush.
