Good day, Richard. Thank you for another of your wonderful paintings, which reflect your high energy level as aptly as the closing music. I love the blue colours of your vast Australian sky (ours here has been mostly drab grey for years and one constantly feels as if the firmament will fall on one's head the next moment). The light-flooded landscape really seems like it's from another planet. The rubber trees and the sky are wonderfully reflected in the water and you get the urge to paddle on the river as well. You've captured the vastness of the landscape superbly, and the narrow, long canvas certainly adds to it. The rest is skill. - Thanks again, beautiful painting, and I look forward to the next one. Have a nice week, Richard. 👋💐🍀
Thanks Cora, I really appreciate your wonderful and positive feedback!!! :-)
You create hard lines soft lines and disappearing lines. You never mention this phenomenon. Love your work. I enjoy spending my time with you 🙏. OKC, OK here.
Your paintings have a very Australian feel, whether it's the sea or the outback, you've done a great job!
Cheers Charley!!! :-)
Your knife artistry, Colour combinations & the hard work you put in, is quite something.
I can see it's quite physical too.
Went through all your paintings & managed to paint one in acrylics, can you believe? Not an easy task, but
if I do say so myself as an amateur acrylic painter, it's not bad. Up on the wall already.
Thanks for your work. 🎨😃👍
Super, super, super 🤗🤩💓 Piękne!
Richard, always delightful to watch you create this stunning works!

Hello Richard, bravo for this new painting! Superb landscape with beautiful reflections in the water and a magnificent sky. We are almost dazzled by the luminosity you have managed to represent. And also, what beautiful clouds in the real sky: we could take them for cotton balls! Thanks a lot for sharing with us.
Many thanks Jacqueline for watching and enjoying!!! :-)
Love it, love it all Richard.
A lovely capture - interpretation and statement !
Hey many thanks Andre!!!

Your work is so inspiring. As an absolute beginner with oils and palette knives I particularly appreciate seeing you mix the paints to produce those stunning colours. Thankyou.

Bravo! Thank you for the tutorial. Brasil
You are welcome!
Me encanta como arma sus cuadros. Gracias con ud he aprendido. Un abrazo.
My respected teacher...
You have a beautiful soul, a master of art, so you turn a simple, ordinary view into a beautiful painting
Rich in colors, attractive to the eye, calm to the soul
I just wish you could depict the painting directly and not from the side
Especially when you finish it
So that we can scrutinize its aesthetics, the splendor of its details, and the purity of its colors
Your style in the horizontal tide of the view
The world expands for us 👋👋💐💐
Many Many thanks Ahmad!!!!!

Many thanks 🙏
Merci pour votres belles toiles 👍👏
Merci d'avoir regardé et apprécié !!! :-)
You keep delivering such great videos, thank you!
It's so interesting to hear your thought and see the painting spring to life, I find myself wanting to keep looking at all the details and beautiful colors, so immensely appealing. Just love the reflections/ripples in the water and the accent of phthalate blue.
Also your camera angel and zoom on your palette is really great!
Thank you so much Connie! Love your feedback!!! :-)
Love wathing you work... changing and bringing a complete canvas to life with just a few well placed strokes with the palette knife and always, awesome colour choices.
Thank you, for the way you explain your colour mixing, and applying the strokes, Im learning confidence in applying the paint with the knife, and use of colour, you describe as seeing them dance. really appreciate your way of painting.
Glad you're enjoying Kath! Plenty more to come!!! :-)
Thank you Richard
Cheers Carlos!
Wonderful!
Many thanks Dawn!
Superbe !!
Gidday mate, once again a great learning environment of tone and colour. You have certainly opened my eyes over time with regards to shadow detail with it's great importance in bouncing with these complementary colours as well as adding depth and 'charm'. Your reflections in the water are always on point with regard to the time of day and lighting conditions. I follow a certain photographer who works in a different way to most and mirrors your techniques and philosophy. Enjoy what we are shooting, experience the surroundings and treasure the emotions/feelings it brings and carry back to recreate the moment in the editing. Don't just create a pretty image. You keep showing us the way from a painting perspective Richard. I treasure that. Cheers, Rich
Cheers Rich! I'm glad you're getting so much out of my work and videos!!!
Thank you Richard. I am learning so much from watching you paint. It is -20 C and just had a foot of snow here in Ontario. So I am not ready to paint outdoors yet!
Great light Richard 🎨👍
Thank you Mate! Cheers!

Hey Mate!!!
Superb.
Thank you Gayle! Cheers!
Awesome work 👌👌👌👌 big fan 🙂
Thank you so much 😀
Great video
Thanks for the visit!
Good day. What size canvas is that? Looks great for landscape painting. Thanks!
28x60 inches, cheers :-)
Very good
Really appreciate!
Muito obrigado!!!!!!
Extraordinary. Just gorgeous. Curious why these paintings start with the light background, when you typically lay down the darks first. Is it because there aren’t a lot of dark areas in this one?
Thank you for another great video! I love the close-up looks, but I am wondering if you can also show the backed-away view. I know it would probably require extra work for you, but it would be amazing to see them looking realistic from a distance. You are very generous to share your process with us! Thanks again!
Cheers Dorothy for watching and enjoying!!! :-)
Yruup. Hi Richard, so good you took that second day.. nice finish.
Once again, that little camera of yours in the right conditions just does the job. That water with those monster trees makes a real connection to your paintings. Beautiful tones. Your own painting of water has become so realistic with great depth and reflection.
Take care out there matey and stay ahead of the weather; things must be getting pretty dry in the back country.
If you can add a fresh caught fish to your frypan...that would be interesting to see, lol. Happy painting Richard. ❤️👍
Thanks Hartley for your wonderful comments! Cheers :-)
Soooo beautyful 💯💞🎨🎨🎨

Where do you get your tubes of paint?
How many years of practice does it take to get to this level of skill? I am in awe.
I’ve been painting for forty years…!
Beautiful video and views! Thanks for sharing! Do you ever try water based oil paintings? Stay safe!
Hey thanks Henrique! I have a little, but not much. They seemed okay :-)
Hello Richard, I enjoy watching your videos. I love your painting style with the palette knives. Really wonderful. I have a question about the colors. It seems to me that the paint from the big cans is much thicker than the one from the tubes, even though it's the same brand. Presumably the paint in the cans contains much less oil. I would be interested to know if that is the case? Greetings from Germany. Rudi
Another great piece of work Richard. I have a silly question for you. You spend so much time on/near water and I am curious if you have any saltwater crocs in your part of the country.
Thanks Jef! No crocs In my area!!! :-)
Your paintings are amazing they're just so lively and I can feel the warmth just looking at them. I was wondering do you make your own canvases? Is it linen, and do you prime it beforehand? Also how do you achieve that neutral background colour? Sorry for all the questions!
Thanks Alice! I stretch my own linens and prime with three clear coats!!! :-)
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 Thankyou for explaining :)

Beautiful as always Richard and love your style! Do you use any mediums in your paint? I haven’t noticed any in your videos and am curious about that as I’d like to dabble in oils minus anything toxic, if that’s possible.
Thanks Karri! No medium, just paint!!!
Well that’s just awesome to know “just paint” is an option!
Hi Richard, another beautiful painting, thank you. Did you know about Nagualero?
Thanks Ray! Yes, Ric Nagualero was a real long distance mate of mine. I'm devastated to here the news...!
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 Hi Richard, yes a sad shock to all his followers.
@@rayeaglenz Absolutely! A real sad thing :-(
Hello Richard,
I have been watching your videos for a long time and admire your work. I have been painting for 3 years and I can’t get such rich colors as yours, please tell me what is your secret?
P.s. Sorry for my possibly bad English, I am from Russia
Hey thanks! It is all about placing warm and cool colours next to each other!
Love your paintings, they are truly one of a kind. I wanted to ask you if you used any extra oil like linseed oil for glazing or do you as they say “ just get it done”. You are rather quick with the palette and that why I asked it just to thin down even once in awhile? I could go on and on with how much I love your technique and how you perceive the colors. Oh and which brand do you prefer? Thanks
Thanks Jennie for watching! I use straight paint out of the tin and the brand is Art Spectrum :-)
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 thank you. I use many art spectrum products, gives a little support to our neighbors down under.
