👋Hi Richard, wow, eucalyptus trees and cows, that's an awesome idea! When one thinks of Australia, of course one knows that you have herds of cattle, but sheep certainly come to mind first. So for me this painting is special because the subject was an unexpected one. Nevertheless, you are able to convey even the unexpected in your usual excellent quality; you have perfectly captured the early morning mood through the light of the rising sun, excellently depicted the shadow areas, rendered the colors of the landscape very naturally and, by the way, put one of our favorite subjects - the gum tree - into focus. On top of that, I also like the contrast in the upper part of the sky, sunlit on the left and showing a beautiful blue on the right, and the different shades of the cows. Have many thanks for presenting your latest artwork, Richard, it was a pleasure as always to watch you paint.❤

The colors intensity balances in each of the areas, drawing the eye into so many "points of view," which makes it come to life likenesses... your work ....
IS a true treasure for your country to B, proud of. Ann, Florida fan.

What a surprise it was this morning to step in to your art gallery & recognise your face from the one video I watched of yours last year (the one previous to this one). We have been going to Hahndorf every fortnight for over a year whilst our youngest daughter has horse riding lessons. We don’t usually stop that end of town, but today we did & as we were walking along the Main Street my husband was pointing down towards the carpark & said he wanted to visit the art gallery. I was admiring the beautiful trees at the entrance of your gallery & then recognised you. I told my husband it was the amazing artist I saw from the video I forwarded him last year along with your website as I knew he would also like your art.
We were in a rush this morning but said to each other we will go back & look again. Hopefully we will soon purchase something as the cogs were already turning in my husbands head on the way to the car then I saw him spend about 1.5hours on the computer when we got home watching some of your videos & scrolling your website. We are both fans. Your paintings are stunning!

Man you must be so busy, shifting house to a new location, outfitting a studio, let alone living quarters. I'm looking forward to you doing out your studio, I reckon that will be quite exciting for you, and then you have to get on and do your paintings. full on, and then, this rural scene, it is really good. Very different subject for you, but its great. Thanks again for taking the time to share your journey. Brilliant. Bill NZ

G'day mate, what a great rural result, chaos to cows. It never ceases to amaze me how you turn blobs of colour into apparent detail as per these cows. That's an art unto itself. So much tonal 'brightness' and the dash of blue in the tree limbs heighten the complimentary colours. It is a majestic, peaceful scene. The new studio is working out so well and I am loving the work output from you at the moment. Cheers, Rich

Hello Richard. Wow, what a magnificent painting once again! Visitors to your gallery must be dazzled by the wonders you have already created there. I admire the way you manage to create a harmonious, coherent and lively landscape from several videos. And what an incredible mosaic of fantastic colors when you get closer to your painting: real gems. Well done 👏👏😊

Wonderful to see you in full painting mode with a new subject Richard. My goodness, the fantastic landscapes you have seen over the last five years alone... Australia has such magic light and colour. Little wonder you get amongst it all to put it on canvas. Each painting a great memory and a reminder some of us are so lucky in our chosen fields of work... and play.

Suggestion...temporarily screw a board to bottom back of canvas...to lift it up above the lip. You might be able to clamp it as well. Helps a lot to have free hand at the edges when knife painting for sure.
    Looks fabulous Richard.❤

To rectify the problem of not being able to paint the bottom of the canvas for the easel blocking it, I place a small support block under the bottom edge of the canvas and one behind in the gap so the canvas doesn't slip backward as I paint. This way I am able to rest the bottom edge of the canvas just proud of the easel edge so that they are not coplainer to eachother and I can paint the bottom edge without interruption.
