Very beautiful....thank you so much for your painting! And your camp is for me one very surprising ! Beautiful landscapes from Australia is something that's y known...in my little country Switzerland is beautiful but so.....little! Dank you so much
Love your humour Richard... as bent as mine. ‘’it hasn’t happened yet but I’m sure it will’’ comment you made while painting. It’s a pity art is not in primary schools around the world like it was when I was crawling around under the desk, looking for my chalk. Your enthusiasm in such a classroom of eager kids would not go amiss, as they learnt about colour and form. Appreciate you heaps dude. 👍👍👍
Just started watching but had to stop and comment. The last stroke in the first painting just before you started to talk about the process is what I call a genius stroke. It's a stroke that makes a painting. The way all those colors came together and blended across canvas in one stroke was amazing. I can't tell if the colors were on the knife or the canvas when you started the stroke but the results is absolutely beautiful in color and spontaneity.
I was looking forward to your latest adventure and more importantly your painting. Pleased to say I was not disappointed, never have been with your painting Richard. Enjoyable to the end.
Never disappointed when watching your videos. Always come away learning something new as well as getting some cooking tips? Looking forward to future videos🎨🎨🎨
Absolutely enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing that amazing landscape and your knowledge. Every painting is an inspiration, the beautiful colors...so irresistible! Hope to see a lot more😊
Hi Richard, very enjoyable video, your paintings are beautiful, and the fire cooking chatting time adds a lot to your video, thank you for filming, and editing 👍😊
Thank you for sharing your camping trips, bush craft as well as your skill at painting. I love fine weather camping and painting but the UK gets a lot of rain so it is a joy to experience your trips with you. Your paintings are beautiful and I hope to produce better paintings by learning from you. Thanks!
I love your paintings, Richard. You explain and demonstrate your thoughts and processes so clearly and have inspired me to start painting again, which is something that I haven’t felt like doing since my brother died at Christmas. The sea is one of my favourite and healing places and the wonderful clips of the coastline are so uplifting. I will continue to follow you to keep learning and being inspired. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I started watching this last night, but was too tired, so I finished this video this morning, great painting, great photography, master of the pallet knife, keep safe, we have been in lock down again, great to see your video!
There’s something quite joyful seeing this little trip. I love to draw and paint, I love camping and I love the Flinders and the Gamon Ranges. Makes the heart sing.
G'day mate, another great video to feast upon once again, the food was great and the facilities top notch (what else do you really need). The Flinders Ranges, an oasis of tone and colour that continues to give. Once again, you have brought to my attention how the old palette knife can reinforce and clean up edges magnificently. I am always surprised when you add some paint and I think, great I like that. Then you swipe the paint across the canvas with the blade and my mouth drops. What the... Then I smile as I see that you have created something even greater in tone. It really is a dance of paint and thought, perhaps bravery. Waiting impatiently for your next journey my friend. Cheers, Rich
Hey G'day Rich, Yes smearing the knife through some nice paint is always a gamble!!! Sometimes it pays off and sometimes....well, you may have to start again :-)
What a peaceful place with pastel colors that you reproduce so well in your skies ! Also, I really like the variety of colors in your large painting. Thanks Richard for sharing.
Light Movement of light Shadows and hills Mixture of colors Canvas and stills Capturing time with depth of paint Each stroke rendered with emotion No matter how faint And the canvas The artist interpretation Soul and ability Without reservation
I enjoyed your trip very much as always, Richard, and also that you cooked this delicious meal. The smell reached all the way here to Germany. - It's nice to see that you're back and that you brought us four pictures, of which I liked the one of the homestead best. But I will watch the video again and maybe change my mind about it. Also, once again I didn't understand all the explanations and I have to repeat them so I don't miss something important about the pictures. Anyway, thank you for sharing an important part of your life with us. It's always like a holiday for me, especially in these times. Be blessed, stay healthy and have a lovely weekend.
(David Fisher) Richard - really love this vid. The main painting is particularly good. Your signature salmon mountain sheen really pops against the emerald green tree cluster at right. Fantastic balance and tension in the half-mixed highlights as well. You're right about the Belgian linen which seems so well integrated with the rugged ranges. I'm especially impressed by the thinness of the smears which nonetheless have beautiful texture. Cobalt put to really good use in this one.
II don't know Australia, but your vidéo is better than an advertising... I love painting and camping, but I never did them together. Your video is so great that you made me want to try both together...Thanks.
Awesome painting and thank you for sharing your adventures, the landscapes around and some serenity.Would like to add, when opening a paint can, you could put the hand holding the can at the bottom, i got injured once, not badly, but the screwdriver slipped and harmed my hand which was at the top, now i don't do like that anymore lol Happy painting
The quiet is amazing! Bliss! 🤩 It's so hard to find that quiet place, and yet you know it physically! always beautiful art too! The way you capture the spirit 😍
Your amazing my friend. If you could can you do a more in depth video on your techniques, supply's and any tips you may have for an up and coming artists that's just starting out. Thank 's my friend. Ps keep posting video's you really are a joy to watch.
Wonderful. Thank you for sharing this with us all, Richard. I'm inspired to experiment with your sky palette and technique. Also thanks for the tip about the clear gesso on linen canvases -- I've got both on hand, so I'll try a triple coat next time too. Many blessings to you and yours from Austria (which the Post Office occasionally mistakes for Down Under, so my folks have to address things to "Austria, No Kangaroos, Europe." :-D
It's Arizona winter here ,I paint small board and figure art pastel,I paint saucer pilots ,saucer decloaks on wilderness planet ,but rarely decloaks on earth
Really enjoyed this Richard. I loved the colour mixing of the orange tones. What I would give to live like this 😌 Can I ask what camera you use to film please?
Your camp reminds me of my thesis research area in Big Bend National Park in Texas. I was not able to build a fire due to park regulations so my Coleman Stove had to do. Your pumpkin stew looks great. Are you familiar with the geology of the area you are painting in? The area you did your plein air study looked amazingly similar to the view of my thesis area with the low rolling hills and the cliffs behind. I often painted watercolors of the landscape at sunset.
Side note: I just read about the Flinders ranges and learned they were deposited in the early PreCambrian 800 mya and were deformed into the tilted beds during the Cambrian about 400mya
Beautiful landscapes and video editing! Do you stay in the outback for many days? Is there some month of the year that you can't do this because of the weather? Thanks for sharing!!!
