    G'day Richard, I have been broadening my experience by looking at some other artists who use palette knives and I find myself returning to your videos. You do with a large knife what others do with a small one. Your ability to whoosh the knife across the canvas and add a keynote colour is inspiring. You seem so much freer with your ability to capture the mood and tone of the landscape. Your passion and sense of fun comes through and following your journey from beginning to end with last minute changes as the light changes is unique. Love the mixing of paint on the pallette and what each colour does to knock it back or enhance. The outback is definitely your playground mate, I feel transported there following along. The other thing that sets you apart from most is that you answer every comment. It is your interaction with your followers that makes the journey a beautiful experience. This latest paint is stunning mate, love the tree tones. "You make the most of the situation and you find the beauty in any subject, any day". Gold right there with those wise words Richard. Cheers, Rich.

When you transitioned the view of a the painting into black and white a few times, one could really see the amazing number of values all over and how they worked beautifully together. And what a day!! Ending with a gorgeous evening, another painting in itself! When I saw you were staying over, I could see there would quite possibly be another painting done the next day. so, question. When there is both orange and yellow in your scene, do you use both compliments, like blue and purple, in your paintings? And if so, how do you manage to not get mud, like grays and browns? All I could think about when it started to thunder and lightning while you were still on the water in your boat, was, you are going to get hit by lightning! At 57:19, that would make a gorgeous painting too! Love the sky there.

    • @richardmusgrave-evans9886
      @richardmusgrave-evans9886  4 года назад

      I do use both complimentarys Rosemary. The knife is good for applying them next to each other, without over mixing them together to much, which would create mud! Hope this helps, Cheers :)

    Thanks so much for posting and sharing your wonderful video of this exceptional experience: fantastic !
    Up to now, this is definitely my favourite ...ánd one of the very first of your video's I saw here on YT.
    Really love it: how you immerse yourself (and me and many others through your posting) completely in this experience, how you get that special connection with nature to get that sensation needed to make a good, honest landscape paintìng .And I really love it that you work WITH nature, nót against it, that you really love and embrace the circumstances immediately when mother nature shows a bit of herself , that she can change unexpectedly and suddenly.
    (Those particular times actually provided more colour-suggestions and make a richer painting possible , so ... thát's actually an advantage it seems to me...)
    And this whole story can be seen in your painting if one looks carefully ...
    And then there's the whole painting experience itself ... plús the resulting piece of your work in great detail at the end of the video ...
    In short: this is a wonderful video ... and só inspirational to me.Keep on posting please : I'm a fan ...
    But I have also a question Richard:
    do you also paint portraits ? or people ? on what motivation ?
    I would be intrigued by this: how would this be done, in yoúr very personal way ... in your own style ...
    This seems to me sò interesting / challenging ...(I'm sure that this cán be done ...)
