i got the red light of death a year ago and i never knew what went wrong until now lol. i wasn’t letting my battery balance i had no clue you were supposed to do that lol

Don't know if you're familiar with Battery University, but they clearly state that LI batteries cannot except overcharge. As lead batteries can. Once they are at 100% if left plugged in it starts deformation of the metal called plating. And you guessed it hastens the end. LIs are best used partially and topped off constantly. Leaving plugged in too long can eventually lead to a combustible situation. Great work. Thought you would be interested.
Thanks for the insight! You are correct. Batteries can be dangerous if they are overcharged as the chemistry is not designed for a higher voltage.
This does not happen with Boosted Board batteries because of how the BMS is designed. The BMS only charges to 80% max voltage, and thus, is not possible to overcharge. These cells are NEVER topped off, basically. It’s definitely counterintuitive care, but hey, that’s our world lol.

Hey! Im going to receive my boosted stealth tomorrow hopefully. Am I supposed to charge it for an extra 2 weeks when I take it out the box? Its brand new in a sealed box. I want to make sure to do whats best for the battery health.
Absolutely. To be safe, send the battery to me to get Amnesia installed. It’s $150 for RLOD batteries, and $100 for fully functional batteries.

@@Tacozilla613 Basically. Without Amnesia, there's not a great way to know if your battery is TRULY fully-charged.

Can you balance an XR with older firmware than 2.5.1 when it's not connected to an ESC? Is there any downsides or do I have to do the two weeks of balancing when the battery is connected to my board?
Yep! Two weeks of plugging in is the way to do it. Is it dumb? Yes. Will it prevent RLOD? Yes.
Just got my Mini X. I was wondering for the two weeks of charging should I keep it plugged in for that long consecutively? Or could I ride it for a bit and charge it again when I’m done?
For some reason, this comment slipped through. I would highly recommend a 2-week charge before riding, how's the Mini X now? Everything normal?

Whats an Amnesia Chip, and could you install it before the RLOD?
Absolutely! For fully functional batteries, it’s $100 instead of $150 for RLOD batteries.
When I plug in my boosted stealth nothing happens. No lights at all. The brick lights up green, so I'm scared that the boosted battery may be the problem. Any suggestions?

Will my boosted stealth ever go into RLOD if its charging for days on end continuously?
That is not something we are aware of. In fact, our data suggests the opposite: keeping it charged for days on end continuously prevents RLOD.

There aren't many good videos explaining how often and what type of maintenance boosted boards need. Even a good video of how to clean a boosted board. I just watched a video of someone drenching his board in soap and water!

I have a boosted stealth and the light on it doesn't turn green when charging, should I just keep it plugged in ? I tried to drain it 3 times to recalibrate the battery but it did this weird thing where it stopped and then started going again, so I decided to just leave it be until better weather.

Yep, one cell must be low. Leave it plugged in for a while, like a few days. It can take weeks sometimes, so let it sit.
So if I leave my boosted board on the charger always for months and not taking off the charger.will it still work

What would you say about riding in cold weather? I heard that that's not a good idea because it drains the battery a lot quicker. Is that true or not?
Yep, that’s true. Once it returns to normal temperature, range should return to normal.

Got a refurbished mini X when i got it the battery was 78% road it to empty now it'll only charge to 30% and i don't know why

I heard somewhere that overtightening your belts can cause a bent motor shaft, is this true?
There is some truth to that. For our purposes specifically for Boosted Boards, overtightening is extremely difficult, which is why my takeaway is to not worry so much about that since I don’t believe that any of you would be using a literal vise to hold things in place to get max tension.
@@xrgeneralhospital Yeah true i just saw a reddit post that said that the cause of a bent motor shaft was overtightening of the belts but i've had my belts relatively tight for a long time and i haven't had any problems with my motors or belts, thanks for the info! also that reply was fast as heck

So I’m new to the boosted board community but I have a question if I wanted to put a xr battery 🔋 on a standard range board how would I do that , because don’t you have to have the official boosted app that was killed on the Apple App Store to update the new battery or will a 3rd party app like the Ride esk8 work.
Yo Alex! How recently did you buy your standard range board? If your ESC has firmware 2.1.9 and greater, then it will allow you to use the XR battery, regardless of whether or not your board came with an XR or SR battery. If you bought a V2 from Boosted USA, you're unfortunately out of luck... for now :)
My battery is stuck at 55 percent , won’t charge past that , board was stored the whole winter so maybe I damaged it

Im already got 100% but is red light. What should i do? Still keeping plug the charge or what?
It should be very close to full charge. Leave it in for a few days and it should be fine. Let me know if it’s still stuck after a week or so!

Dont overtighten your belt. Just put a piece of paper while you tight them and that space will give you:
Less stress on motor bearings, faster speeds and your belt should last at least 1000.
