This is not fake, but this is potentially extremely damaging to your battery. You may introduce more problems by doing so. I’m happy to talk more detailed on this 1:1. Here’s my number if you’d like me to explain more! (734) 837-8704
Congratulations! If you fixed your battery using this method and there are no further issues, you are one of the lucky ones. Unfortunately for some, this repair method not only does not resolve their issue, but would skyrocket their repair cost due to damage to the BMS. We would love recommend this method as a repair method so that repairs can be more accessible to all. This would save us a ton of work, but we cannot recommend it due to the consequences of a failed repair. That said, have you experienced any issues since your repair? How long ago did you attempt it? Did you seal up the battery again?
damn this is really cool! how many wh is this battery? the price is a bit high imo... especially when we already paid 400 for the battery, paying another 500 on top to get it renewed is quite expensive maybe 500 for the battery, or like 300 if renewed with old XR? just a suggestion~
I forgot to wear a mask. What sort of chemicals did I expose myself to?
Eh you’re probably fine. Repeated exposure is more of a concern. I had to wear a mask per COVID regulations at our lab at the time, so I wore the most comfortable mask for the job haha

One of the biggest hurdles would be warranty. If you had an issue and we don’t have the physical battery in front of us to diagnose it, the warranty process would suck. Making a service manual would make sense, but that documentation hasn’t been written yet. If you have a bright idea, I’d love to hear it!

Hi David. Exciting stuff! Thank you for all your work on this. Related question, are you able to just replace the existing cells with new cells in a dead pack? As in a whole new set of new cells? Regular XR, just with modern batteries and brand new battery condition.
Great question! We can, but we do not have the bandwidth to rebuild XR packs at this time. The labor involved in rebuilding XRs is very intensive, so much so that it is actually easier for us to build an XR+ than an XR. As far as the XR batteries we receive, we intend to test every battery pack and either sell the old cells individually, or repurpose them in some way. We honestly haven't thought that far with what to do with the old packs besides take them apart and salvage the good cells, so if you have an amazing idea, let us know!

We respect that. We still anticipate that our old XR batteries will still be in service and that the vast majority of riders will be pleased with their XR. Our intention was to create more options by presenting passionate riders with a well-supported product that also provides significantly more range. How do you feel about our approach?

$550 for a bunch of P42A's and a custom case is pretty damn insane. Thats normal pricing for a handbuilt battery. Theres a whole lot more to this battery than just a 3D printed plastic bit attached to a normal XR.

@@xrgeneralhospital quick question, amnesia chip installed, board standing up hind wheels. I press the power button for five seconds. I get the amnesia animation ,then I get two flashes from the middle light, (in the row of 5 small lights) four flashes from the second from the bottom, and then two flashes from the bottom light, then it goes back to the animation. What does this mean?
I actually fix the red light of death on my friends boosted board without any of that it was free, I just needed a copper metallic pin and fixed it. Just to know
That fix method is not recommended. Shorting the memory module can cause your battery indicator to be no longer accurate, causing you to not have an accurate understanding of how much battery you actually have

Hi. I have the original boosted board with this issue. Left it too long. It only blinks red when I plug it in . If I rotate the wheels fast enough it it goes to red and then sometimes green. It’s now green but only when plugged in. It’s completely dead when not plugged into power. How can I fix this? 😊
