Hey David, I have a boosted board v1 and I just tried the towing trick and it managed charge (I think, because it got hot) and now when I turn it on, it gets the lights of death and the remote beep and it turns off. Any help?

Hi. I have the original boosted board with this issue. Left it too long. It only blinks red when I plug it in . If I rotate the wheels fast enough it it goes to red and then sometimes green. It’s now green but only when plugged in. It’s completely dead when not plugged into power. How can I fix this? 😊
Hi so I just bought my first boosted board and when it arrived it had the RLOD. When I try to turn the board on the light is green for 3ish seconds then just doesn't stop blinking consistent red. no clue what the problem is or what to do but if you had any advice I'd really appreciate it!

Hey man, I have an XR battery that's crapped out on me with the RLOD however, my standard range battery works fine on the board. I saw on the BoostedUSA website that the XR doesn't work with a V2 board - is this true or can you fix an XR so it will actually work with a V2 board? I miss having the long range.
Boosted USA is not correct. The V2s that they used to sell had the older firmware that was XR incompatible, so it was simply easier to say that XRs don’t work on V2s so that buyers wouldn’t buy an XR with their V2. As long as your V2 has a firmware version of 2.1.8 or higher, it should be XR compatible! Did you fill this out yet? diagnose.xrgeneralhospital.com

hows it going buddy< boosted board v1 over here, did treadmill after first red light of death. worked for two runs then happened again. now charges to full, runs for about ten 20 seconds full speed then dies. does this over and over again...... help , let me pay you for knowledge or advice

So my board works with the regular battery but the XR battery for a v2 board has all the lights light up bright and power button red when I try charging it. When it’s connected to the board the power button flashes and the the smaller leds light up top three then bottom three. It shows up on the app when I turn it on but the wheels don’t move and it shows the same range as the regular small battery.

Hey - hope you can help - my booster stealth is only charging half way and I have a red flashing led on the led array that shows the charge level - only 3 out of the 5 light up and let the board charge to half full - any ideas
Yep! Your battery seems to be normal. You’ll need to charge it for a couple weeks to recalibrate it.

Treadmill trick might work, but more than likely it won’t work for long. You might need a full rebuild depending on whether or not it is fully reviveable

I dunno what boosted board I have. Got it several years ago. More than likely a V1. I literally never rode it. Was impulse buy. Fast forward a few years I found the charger but it’s got that red death blink 😂. I’m guessing just buying a new battery will be the easiest way to go.

Great question, Drew. We do not permanently disable any safety features when repairing. Rather, we diagnose what caused it to trip the safety failsafes and see if it is repairable. The safety features are there for a reason and we do not believe in disabling them to make it work again, does that make sense? Spinning the wheels will not undo RLOD.

Hey! My battery just literally died! I’m in nyc could you help me out?
What about constant remote beeping on any mode above eco? I have a boosted plus and don't observe loss of power, both engines work. Cleaning and lubricating connectors did not help. Could that be a battery issue? Anybody ran into this before?

Will the battery still remain water resistant after your service?
Mostly. For liability purposes, my professional recommendation is to NOT ride in the rain after the operation, but that hasn't stopped me :)

Yeah, that would be V1 to V2. V3s are very similar to V2, and thus, it won’t work for V3s either.

Can you just put a different battery onto the board with the same voltage
Not quite. The board requires communication between the battery and board. We are working on a workaround so you can use any battery with the same voltage to achieve this!

If that doesn’t work, it would definitely need a battery rebuild. Not stupid expensive, but stupid time consuming imo

This is the way!
This is all true if you have an extended battery, But for standard battery those methods will work as I have brought back two batteries by spinning the wheels.
hey, how long did you have the spin the wheels on the standard?
@@MarcusTim0thy One wheel for a solid 3min with a impact drive (higher rpm then drill) with a oil filter socket (anything larger then the wheel will work (like a gear ratio)) Have the charger ready for immediate plug in. Keep trying till starts charging.

I actually fix the red light of death on my friends boosted board without any of that it was free, I just needed a copper metallic pin and fixed it. Just to know
That fix method is not recommended. Shorting the memory module can cause your battery indicator to be no longer accurate, causing you to not have an accurate understanding of how much battery you actually have

Hi! I just found your channel and thanks for doing this amazing work. I have one question and I hope you’ll help me. I plugged my boosted charger into my boosted, cause I wanted to charge it, but my battery didn’t charge to 100%. It just stayed at 4 and a half dots. I unplugged the charger and plug it back and suddenly my charger died. So I ordered new charger with hopes, that the old one was just broken and the new one will charge my battery up to 100%. But no! Same thing. Boosted battery charges to 4 and a half dots and then no matter how long I’ll keep the charger plugged, it won’t get past it. And now suddenly the new charger makes strange high pitch noises. Can you please help me out? Thanks

Just short pin 1 and 2. Badda Bing badda boom.
That method is unfortunately not reliable and potentially dangerous. I’ve had people come to me after they short those pins and I have to tell them that they have to buy a new battery since their battery is permanently bricked or shows the wrong battery percentage. The shorting method is the equivalent of drinking hand sanitizer to avoid getting sick.
