Hello Mr. Joe, Thank you so much for your help. All mine needed was the paperclip trick, and it works just fine. Thank you so much. Here's a few more 👍👍👍👍👍 since I can only give one on your channel.
This clip helped me isolate the problem, that it wasn't the motor or the belt and maybe the control board. Another video about the blinking light on that board may assist in your diagnosis. That showed my board to be working too. When I pull off the black and red wires from the board and checked the motor with my drill battery, as Joe suggested here, the motor ran perfectly. When I reconnected the wires the whole Nordictract c850 s ran perfectly. Poor contact to the motor due to mild corrosion. Problem solved until next time. Thanks Joe.
This was a great find. Although it did not help me directly with my problem, I found you and I am grateful. I have already reached out to your team to narrow down my issue. Thank you very much in taking the time to do this.
I will echo the comments by @EricaChiarkas that you are a natural educator. So many presenters on RUclips rush through their dialog, but you took your time like talking to a friend or neighbor across the way. I was able to solve a power issue with my old Triumph T400. Just taking the top cover off allowed me to see that the white power lead had disconnected from the circuit board. I had replaced the power cord a while back and didn't leave enough slack on the wires inside, so of course when I folded up the platform one day after use, the wire was pulled off. Thank you Treadmill Hero!
Thank you very much Jo, can’t thank you enough, it’s was your very last closing remark- Power AND , the Safety Catch- The latter saved my Treadmill from being scrapped, God bless you.
Very good video -- very well explained -- My old WESLO has not been used for a year or more, and not moved. When attempt to use it would not work. Too late now but tomorrow I will thanks to all your guidance check it out. If only many other repair videos were explained in the same direct manner of instructions and video. Thanks for taking the time and effort for making this video - even if my treadmill IS completely dead.
If you need any help diagnosing issues along the way, you can always give our company, Fitness Graveyard, a call at 563-949-0799. We have in house technicians that you can speak with. Thanks!
Another repair down in the books. Thank you. I had a bad power wire to the panel, then found out one of the magnets in the motor came loose. Welp I cleaned and epoxied it back in. Now I got a $500 treadmill for $1.53 from the thrift store. Time to start running. 😁
Thanks for the video! My belt wasnt working but everything else did. It turned on and it inclined/declined just fine, but the belt didnt work. I checked the motor per your instruction by connecting it to a drill battery and the belt worked perfectly. I was thinking its was the data cable because the motherboard looks fine with no corrosion. After a thorough inspection of the data cord is found the the "spokes" on the male data cord was bent and not aligned so it wasnt plugging with the female part correctly. After straighting it out, it works! Thanks so much!!!!!
Someone left there treadmill at my new house and I just want to thank you because I just needed to know where the power switch was to see if it worked and it does. So thank you!
Thanks for the great instructional video. This treadmill had just been moved. I checked the data cable and found that when I plugged it back together (multi pin connector), 2 of the pins were pushed part way out. I pushed them back in and the belt belt is turning. Thanks again.
thank you joe, the feed wasn't getting through to the top screen, took it apart and the wire had snap completely in half. was difficult to reconnect as wires were so tiny but with care n patients manage to strip them back enough to twist each colour together then using plenty black insulating tape to separate and make safe.... also wound some the tape around the rest the lead to hopefully strengthen it from future damage etc. I couldn't believe how dusty it was especially where the motor sits etc. all cleaned up and ha presto it's working again, many thanks joe for your video and help, son n wife happy again.
I just talked to Drew at The Fitness Graveyard - VERY helpful in helping me narrow down my issue. Hopefully, I can 'adjust' my problem out, but if not, he told me exactly what is most likely my problem part and how to deal with it. I appreciate it - I'll report back when I figure it out.
💯 thanks!! I learned how to test my drive motor. 18V cordless drill battery 🔋 worked! Control board is being fixed; wanted to confirm motor was good. 👍
This is great. My safety key was *only partly* plugged in. It wasn't obvious at first. All I had to do was plug it back in all the way and voilà, its working. Thanks!
Glad I found this video - we were given a Trojan 210 treadmill, the treadmill powers on - counts down and we get a L51 error. Checked the motor with a 12v battery and the motor is good. As mentioned before the console counts down, a 3rd light glows up - no click, error and the 3rd light dims again :( Will find out why by hook or by crook :)
Hello Joe, I was about to give up trying to fix the incline setting which was stuck in number 10 nobody wanted to used it . Then You mention cables loose due to moving the unit from one area to another. To pleasant surprise I found a cable disconnected plug 🔌 it in and problem resolved. Thank you very much great video.
thank you so much . I have an old Image 10 that is 22 years and has been moved a few times but still working fine. I hadn't used it in a couple months though and when I went to start it it wouldn't start. Nothing. After watching your post when you mentioned that the key has to be in thats when I remembered. The key. Oh yeah. It would be good to mention the reset button early on too. I had tried that.
Very good video, very informative, especially the ways to check the motor status. I don't need to repair my treadmill now, however it's always good to get prepared. Thanks a lot!
Hi Joe, I have a Technofit TR300i Treadmill. I live in the UK. Initially the treadmill was powered on, and there was a POP, which tripped the house breaker, then after the isolator was activated, I switched the treadmill back ON.......Although the power indicator switched (red) ON, nevertheless everything else was dead (the control panel still would NOT light up). I then removed the plastic base cover and found that the fuse (T 10A H250V) was blown, so I replaced it, and when I switched it back on, the panel now lit up !.....Unfortunately the motor did not turn and instead a fault code E3 is displayed, my next stage is to test my motor as you have described it here using DeWalt drill battery......and I will then let you know if the motor is OK. PS. The motor speed sensor is of the Optical type. (and not the magnetic one etc) However, if the motor is fine, then what would be the next step to go about fixing it ? Thanks SoL
Based on all that, I believe your motor control board popped and took out that fuse in the process. Check the motor to be sure but I think the motor controller is the issue
Wanted to thank you for your trouble shooting video. It was a move resulting in a disconnected data cable. If I am in need of any parts you will be the busy I call. I will refer your company to anyone I know who is having treadmill issues. Thank you again.
My treadmill(PRO-FORM 590QS Quiet Deck) starts and works as long as I am only walking but once I get to running speeds then it stops after a few seconds to a minute. What should I look for? I’ll definitely run the diagnostic that you have explained here. Another thing, for past few years the tread has become quite loud. It hasn’t bother me since it’s been moved from bedroom to the garage and I usually have my AirPods on but it used to be very quiet for the longest time. Don’t know if it’s aged or some parts can use some lubricants to make it quiet again? Btw, very well explained and easy understand video👍, thank you for sharing 🙏
I have the exact same issue with my proform treadmill. It powers up and runs when on low speed but stops when I get on or try to run a higher speed. What issue did you find?
My problem is that my treadmill just stops while using it. Panel lights up. I got a livestrong LS13.0t. It moves again if I turn it off and on again on the main switch. The drive motor is pretty good. I did the test as you’ve suggested on this video. Now there is a click on the circuit board and simultaneously stops.
Great video. Very helpful. The mice got in to our treadmill and chewed the powercord, which I soldered back together. They had also nested on the pcb. Now the console powers up but the motor won’t turn. The mat is hard to turn which thanks to your explanation about the motor becoming a magnet tells me the motor is good but is shorted somewhere. Thanks for the video!
@@picsbyandrea No sorry i didn't. The frame got converted into a table for my screen printing press and the rest got thrown out (apart from the motor which may get used for a future project)
Like this very much. Alas it didn't cover our issue. We have a Golds Gym 450. Hadn't been used in awhile and my husband folded the deck up to make more room. I unfolded it and went to use it and it surges for a second and then stops. The screen goes blank and then after a second or two lights up showing all the screen data at once. If tried again . . . and again, it repeats it all. Any thoughts on this oddness?
That sounds like a motor controller. A very common issue with those ICON Fitness brands (Golds Gym being one of them), I don’t think the fact it was folded up has anything to do with it. If the motor makes a rapid jolt then stops when you hit start, it’s a failed relay switch within the motor control board. New board most likely needed. The “Fitness Graveyard.com” can help with that part I bet.
My Horizon CT5.2 was getting E1 error after running 5 - 15 minutes. Found out that it was speed sensor that was not aligned to the magnet properly. Aligned it to fix the E1 issue on it.
Hi, I just want to ask a question about your treadmill because I'm having the same issue with my Horizon T101. How many magnets are on the wheel where your speed sensor wire is? Mine has 1 but its another hole on the adjacent side of the wheel, (Like they should alternate if another one was there. I've changed the control board and tried to adjust the wire and just when I think its fixed I get the E1 code
I HOPE this helped. I need to open mine up to see. It's a Weslo Cadence R 5.2. I rarely use the thing, it just sits there (like most people's exercise equipment). I was riding 15 miles a day till my mountain bike broke, then I got a new car that doesn't have a tow hitch or room and haven't gotten around to doing all of that. The treadmill was supposed to b the for now exercise. It's always plugged in, I checked the socket, checked the safety plug, it just doesn't turn on. I know it did a few weeks ago, but it hasn't been moved since then. I'll open it up tomorrow and see if anything looks bad. I've been to technical school for computers years ago and still build all my own systems, plus, I have pretty decent mechanical knowledge of things like cars thanks to RUclips, so if it's not super-complicated I'll fix it. If not, I'll throw it on Craigslist for free.
We went thru the whole procedure of removing the cover and testing everything. Come to find out it was the on/off switch on the case next to were the power line goes in was switched to off. I don't know how it could of been switched off during our walking.

Hi Joe, great video. My Diamondback treadmill wasn't working after not using it for a month. Not moved. When turned on it has a very long continuous beep that doesn't stop until turned off. The panel does not light up at all. Key is in proper place.

Hey I have a question about a NordicTrack treadmill I have. A few weeks ago, the power switch began to shut off on its own at high speed like 11mph. Now it’s happening on lower speeds. The deck is oiled, and I tried a new control board so I’m not sure what could be wrong
Mr. Joe, I need your helpful advice, please. I have ct9.3 horizon folding treadmill. It suddenly stops and there starts coming clicking sound from the motor control board. After a long time it resets itself automatically and again stops and same clicking sound starts coming from the control board. Can you please advise what trouble this can be and how to fix it. Thanks.
Having motor issue on PaceMaster as shown in video. Motor has power but not enough to move belt consistently with person walking/running. Will start out working fine then slowly come to a stop. Suggestions for what to troubleshoot?
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
My parents have an old Horizon T92, one day it worked fine, it sat for a few days, power comes on, console lights up, you can hear the relay click, and nothing happens. Incline works, belt won't move. Motor will not come on. I tried hooking up an 18 volt drill battery and the motor kicked on, so I know the motor is good. Thinking it's probably something with the circuit board that's next to the motor. Checked all wires and harnesses and they look fine. Probably a bad capacitor or something to that extent? I'm not very technically inclined so it could be anything, just trying to narrow it down. Was hoping to surprise them and fix it, bring it back over for Christmas. May not even be worth repairing. I haven't had any luck tracking down a circuit board, and hate to spend a ton of money if that's not even what's wrong with it. I appreciate ate your well thought out video. May keep looking for that circuit board, strongly feel that's what's wrong with it.
I unplugged the machine to clean underneath. Plugged it back in, and nothing. No power whatsoever. I did check the plug, it has power.. If it's the fuse, where is the fuse on this model? Didn't take anything off when I moved it forward. Just picked up the back end and rolled it forward. Also, it's been working great, I use it 5 days a week and never had a problem. Also, I did look at the wires and didn't see any end that looked burnt. That's why I'm thinking it's the fuse. I would appreciate any help you are willing to share. Thanks in advance.
hey there thay video was very helpful i have a five year old nordick track incline tread and i has been moved three times as we have moved the incline works it goes all the way up and console works as stated in this video it tells you alotted time and distance but the tread itself does not budge. so I am going to attempt opening up the brain on the bottom and check everything you suggested ... but i was thinking if the incline works fine the motor would be good...

Treadmill Heroes Fitness Repair and Delivery I took a video after doing everything you said here And it worked for less than a minute and stopped again I will contact your shop tomorrow for more information thank you I’m excited hopefully it’s not totally damaged
Great video sir. I can't get my panel to power on at all. Tried reset switch, different power source and nothing. I checked the motor by applying battery power to and it ran fine. I see the the controller board has a steady red light and from the diagnostic info it says possibly that it was the main upright cable. I opened the panel and everything is intact, no loose or damaged wires and connectors are tight. Could this still be the board? Thanks for your help.

So I took mine apart. Tested the motor, it’s fine. Control panel works fine, but when you hit start, no click and no belt movement. Sounds like a relay according to the video. How does one replace this?
Hi, I have a Treadmill CT81, I verify the motor with a 9 volts battery and the motor is working fine. Now having the motor controller on hand p/n JC22-001 or 032671-HF replacement no. My question is what could I check with a multimeter if this controller is good? Nothing seem to have heated up, everything look fine visually! Thank in advance if you could help! Pierre
I have a Golds gym that starts but immediately stops. The panel stays on and the inclination works. But the drive motor starts for a second and then stops.
Thanks for the video. My roommate has been working on a treadmill trying to replace the motor belt. It is no where close to ever fitting on there. She has tried several different ones and they are all way too small. All the videos make the belt look easy to slip on but it’s just not even close.

Question Proform Crosswalk 380 I press start and it goes for about 1 second and turns off. It was working until one time I pulled the safety key by accident right after starting the walk workout. Have not recently moved the machine. control panel works. One thing there's a small black wire not connected to anything. This wire is right along side the main power cable that goes to the wall. What should I do?
I have a Temp Evolve treadmill, and while the motor still works, I have to put my foot on the belt and move it backwards to get it going. I wonder if lubricating the belt will fix this problem?, Or is there some other solution?
Hello Joe, so my problem it starting out smoking kinda like a electrical smell so my son shut it off now my Son it's been maxing out at 10 so he has been putting a lot of work on the treadmill, I went on it to try it out and for a bit it was good then the smoke started coming back then immediately I heard and saw a couple of flashes then I turned the machine off I just seen this video and I tested the motor with the battery and it did go the clips where getting red hot but in the mean time the motor was going, any input that you might think could be? Thank you...
Hey Joe. Get video and info. My BowFlex Treadclimber Model TC200 motor is making a clicking noise. The clicking gets louder the faster the belt. Is the motor bad now?

Couldn’t figure out why my treadmill wasn’t working. I had given up - not very mechanically inclined. However, as a last resort I thought I’d check RUclips. As soon as you mentioned recently moving your treadmill, it clicked. I found the Ethernet cable and realized I had bent one of the pins when I reconnected. A few adjustments with needle nose pliers, and I’m back in business. Thanks!
I really liked how you explains, maybe you can tell me what could happen to my treadmill that in a storm it received an electric shock and it turned on and started running like level 10, while the dashboard is not work, what do I do? Help me tell me something sweet-heart, what do you think happened to my treadmill? Why runner like crazy? every time I plug in. Pls.

Great and helpful video. I tested the motor with a power tool battery and paper clips and the motor started running, which is great. However the when I connect to mains the control panel is on the buttons seem to work but the motor doesn’t then work and the belt doesn’t move. I can’t hear any click when I press start. The treadmill stopped working when it was in use. It has done that several times but when switched off and left for a while and turned on again it worked but now it’s not working at all. What other things can I do to check where the failure is? Thanks again.

I think my control board is bad. Tested the motor and it spins. Haven't tried the joining of the connectors though. But struggle to get the belt to move manually unless I'm on it. Hasn't ever been lubricated so once the control board is repaired I'll make sure that's good too!!
I have a nautilus, tread climber sat for a while I moved it Now the belt does not move I did a calibration, and it says fail Wonder how far away you guys are from St. Louis
Thank you for taking the time to produce your excellent videos on maintaining a treadmill. I need your assistance. I have a Sole F80 and while I’m running (7MPH) or walking (4MPH) every now and then the treadmill will stop then speed up rapidly (Fast) and it will give me an Error Code 5 message on the screen. I’ve been thrown off the treadmill twice and I’m lucky it hasn’t caused me a serious injury. Do you have any idea what could be causing this happen? Thank you.
Hello, my proform 330i treadmill turns on without inserting the key and the stop button does not react and it does not turn off when I remove the key, what do you recommend?
thank you for this video. My treadmill works perfectly -- all inclines and speeds-- but these days after 5 years of mild to moderate use, it takes 15 minutes to wake it up (display, boot up etc) after flicking the switch. it's like Iam waiting for the dragon to wake up from its slumber. I ll check the data cable etc as you have advised. Again thank you for this video.
Any way to feed the upper console 12v to confirm it still powers on with the battery? To possibly further point to it being a cable or lower control board issue…
Thank you Joe for the very informative video! I have a Horizon T202.3 treadmill. I plugged it directly to the wall outlet, 15A. It powers on and I input user, weight, etc, then when I press start, it trips my circuit breaker. Checked the outlet and it is fine. 123V and grounded. motor is fairly new. Any idea as to the likely cause of the problem? Thanks!
sorry, forgot to mention that I tested the drive motor with a 12v battery and it works. when I press Start, I hear 3 beeps and the outlet breaker trips, on/off switch in off position. The Motor Control board is a Johnson 1000111476 and the green light blinks 4 times. Is that the error code?
Hey Joe! Listen I have a problem you may be able to help me fixing. So I bought this kind of cheap treadmill on amazon ($500) and it was delivered today. I set it up just like manual indicated, and it won't turn on. The on/off button is lighing and all but it just doesn't start.

Man this was so helpful! It was my stop cord the whole time! Was about to hire someone for this lol... Thank you!!!
thank you so much .
By far, the MOST HELPFUL video! Thank you!
(and not the magnetic one etc)
However, if the motor is fine, then what would be the next step to go about fixing it ?
Thanks
SoL
Based on all that, I believe your motor control board popped and took out that fuse in the process. Check the motor to be sure but I think the motor controller is the issue
Thanks for your time and effort in providing such a nice video, it really was helpful.
Just had our home treadmill die and was flying blind testing stuff, this is an awesome video and gives me a place to start from
Wanted to thank you for your trouble shooting video. It was a move resulting in a disconnected data cable. If I am in need of any parts you will be the busy I call. I will refer your company to anyone I know who is having treadmill issues. Thank you again.
Thank you for the tips. Extremely helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
This seems like a great video to help the average person try and trouble shoot. Well done.
"The data cable is the spinal cord of the treadmill" - great description.
Would body weight have anything to do with it stopping after a couple of minutes?
Hi what does it mean E1
great!!! love your expertise... stay blessed my beloved brother
Great vid! This totally helped me resolve my issues in just a few minutes:)
You are the main dude DIY for the win thanks to youtube and doers. Just fixed it
Great video.
This is what happened to mine…did you ever resolve the problem?
I've changed the control board and tried to adjust the wire and just when I think its fixed I get the E1 code
thanks for the vide and suggestions, trick testing motor saved me $300 mine working just fine tried w my drill battery
Decent video. Explains a lot. Thank you for sharing 👍😁
Wow Excellent excellent explanation thank you for all the help 😊👍👍
Great video. Thank you!
So I don't hear the "click" when I try to start it up. Do you have a video on how to replace a relay?
Good tips! Used drill battery to test, motor works. Trying to figure out what E6 code is on xterra 2500 means right now.
Hey what should you look for when the screen works fine but the buttons don’t - press the buttons and nothing works? Cheers
Your the man. I fixed my treadmill. I though it was the drive motor.
We went thru the whole procedure of removing the cover and testing everything. Come to find out it was the on/off switch on the case next to were the power line goes in was switched to off. I don't know how it could of been switched off during our walking.
Just wondering if you have a closer view of the item you called the spine of the treadmill? Mine stopped working after it was moved.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!! Thanks for the tips. 🇺🇸🤙🏽
Mine turns on and makes noise but the belt won’t move. What should I do? Is there any way to fix it?? Pls respond

Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video
Motor is fine I tested with battery and it’s work but when it’s plugged belt doesn’t run error 94 comes up
My parents have an old Horizon T92, one day it worked fine, it sat for a few days, power comes on, console lights up, you can hear the relay click, and nothing happens.

Treadmill Heroes Fitness Repair and Delivery
I took a video after doing everything you said here And it worked for less than a minute and stopped again I will contact your shop tomorrow for more information thank you I’m excited hopefully it’s not totally damaged

Hi,
I have a Treadmill CT81, I verify the motor with a 9 volts battery and the motor is working fine.
Now having the motor controller on hand p/n JC22-001 or 032671-HF replacement no.
My question is what could I check with a multimeter if this controller is good?
Nothing seem to have heated up, everything look fine visually!
Thank in advance if you could help!
Pierre
Great video, my treadmill shows E6 and is a maxed brand. Any idea what could be the probs?
I have a Golds gym that starts but immediately stops. The panel stays on and the inclination works. But the drive motor starts for a second and then stops.
Thanks for the video.
My roommate has been working on a treadmill trying to replace the motor belt. It is no where close to ever fitting on there. She has tried several different ones and they are all way too small. All the videos make the belt look easy to slip on but it’s just not even close.
If the belt is same size no. Will loose the motor unscrew bolts but the belt

Question
Proform Crosswalk 380
I press start and it goes for about 1 second and turns off. It was working until one time I pulled the safety key by accident right after starting the walk workout. Have not recently moved the machine. control panel works. One thing there's a small black wire not connected to anything. This wire is right along side the main power cable that goes to the wall. What should I do?
Thanks Joe, great video! My Lifespan TR4000i displays a dc6 error code. Still can't figure it out.
I heard a pop then smoke when I plugged it in , haven’t used it in a while . What do u think it could be ?
Excellent technical experience and information. Thanks
Thanks for the positive vibes
Great tips on troubleshooting, appreciate it.
I have a Temp Evolve treadmill, and while the motor still works, I have to put my foot on the belt and move it backwards to get it going. I wonder if lubricating the belt will fix this problem?, Or is there some other solution?
I really like the part where you teach us on how to test the treadmill motor if it is still good it really helped me a lot thank you.
My treadmill when I turn on beeps and shows numbers. I tried push the speed then start and doesn't do anything. What does that mean? Please help

I have a nautilus, tread climber sat for a while I moved it
Now the belt does not move
I did a calibration, and it says fail
Wonder how far away you guys are from St. Louis
Is there a video on testing relays or replacing them
You explain it in a great way fully..! Thank you..!
Thank you.
Hi. Would you know the white wire which comes from the mother board is Neutral or Live wire please?
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Any thoughts for belt stops suddenly then restarts on its own? Landice L7
@@LNg-ev4stI have the same issue with my treadmill tripping my breakers? Any update of what your issue was?
What is your location, Sir? I have a treadmill the motor is not working
We are located in Wilton, Iowa
Hey Joe! Listen I have a problem you may be able to help me fixing. So I bought this kind of cheap treadmill on amazon ($500) and it was delivered today. I set it up just like manual indicated, and it won't turn on. The on/off button is lighing and all but it just doesn't start.
