Snatched Sole F60 for just a little over $100 in a practically brand new condition. Took it all apart for easier transportation and needed some help with tensioning the belts. I've been subscribed to RJ for years and yet not surprised to find that he has videos for exactly what I need. Thank you!
Very well done. Did my belt in about 90 minutes start to finish - so not super fast but I took my time and watched directions closely and it is back to running perfectly. Bought my belt from Treadmill Doctors, on-line, and it came in 2 days. Thanks for posting this video, I would have been lost without it.
Excellent video! It allayed all my fears about doing this job. I also appreciate you letting us know exactly what tool and size is needed at each step. Every instructional video on RUclips should be as clear and beneficial as this!
your three videos on how to fix the loose treadmill belt were very helpful, I haven't yet tried them but I get the feeling it should be more or less similar
Fantastic video. My husband and I replaced the belt and followed your excellent video the entire way. It’s up and running and super quiet now. Sole provided the new belt under warranty but their PDF instructions were pitiful and incorrect in one paragraph! 👏🏻👍🏻😊
This video just saved me $200+. Thank you for the insight, and straight forward instructions! I do not have a Sole Treadmill, but I have a LifeSpan TR4000i. Almost everything was the same, and I was able to figure out anything that was slightly different. I appreciate your time and effort!
Very useful video. Thank you for all details. Just watched it to figure how to replace the belt on my F83. Motor was quite stuck in a place after 16y of use so needed to give it a strong pull up on belt side to “unstuck” it 😃
Thanks RJ I have a sole F83,I replaced the walking belt and drive belt, your video was so clear I did not have a hard time at all doing the repair. Thanks again very much.
Great video! Just wondering would it be easier to loosen up the motor fully and slip the drive belt out from the motor axle instead of loosening the front roller and having to realign the right side? Or maybe it's the same amount of work? Also do you know if it would be possible to upgrade my old F80 with a 3HP motor with a 3.5HP motor from a F85?
Thanks RJ. I used this technique on my Xterra treadmill and it worked. Both models appear to be very similar. However, the replacement belt would not fit in exact same as before so I had to move the motor a bit closer and also because of this, I had to re- align the front roller shaft by loosening the belt tightening screws completely and then adjust the distance and finally loosen both side belt tension Allen screws again, Centered the belt and kept working on each side in steps. Initially 5 turns and then start the treadmill at 0.5 mph, then increase it gradually to 2mph..... and see if the belt drifted. Once stable, I walked on it and if the belt slipped, kept on tightening 1/4 turn on each side till such time the belt worked perfectly at 3mph. I did not try to run at higher speeds but I guess, if it does not slip at 3mph, it is pretty good and by chance it does at higher speeds...... now I know what to do..... all thanks to you. 😜
So easy!! Thank you for this video. I followed your demonstration and just adjusted the belt...now works perfectly, no more slipping. Would never have thought it would be so easy. Awesome!
Thank you for your tutorial. One thing to add before putting on the new belt is to check the roller pulley for old pieces of drive belt that may be imbedded in the pulley grooves. Just my two cents...
Old video, I know. I found your channel while working on my road bike and what are the chances you have the exact same treadmill as me and do a video on it. Great step by step and very clear instructions and camera work. Subscribed.
Hey RJ, if my drive belt shifted over one thread to the right, towards the motor, what is the simplest way to adjust it? Well done with the video, easy to follow. I'll probably be able to use this to try to make my adjustment, just want see if there is an easier method. Thank you!
Thanks for the video we followed trying to put it back on but when the belt goes on it’s impossible to get the pole back into hole on the side of the belt is there a way to adjust the metal rod?
Hey RJ I just recently bought a Golds gym threadmill and it runs great until I step on it. I've followed your videos and hasn't fixed the problem. Could it be needing lubrication even though I recently bought it? The walking belt is evenly lined and doesnt go above 2&1/2 inches and the motor belt is tight but not to tight.
Which tool did you use to get around the motor? Would this work added to my regular wrench: Neiko Heavy Duty 3-Piece Universal Impact Joint Socket Set? Thanks!

I have a Sole F63 treadmill, and it slows down then regains it's specified speed, regularly, regardless of whether I am walking on the machine or not. I have lubed it. I think the belts are adjusted properly. Any idea as to what would cause the slow down and speed up I am experiencing? Many thanks.
After the belt came up blameless I opened it up and saw the problem. I need to get a new drive belt, it's seen better days. Though my treadmill is only a year old plus some months, it was being used for 1-5 hours a day.
I used it for walking but my mom used it for running and power walking. I guess the problem was that it's a relatively cheap treadmill and she was very close to the weight limit. It's definitely not gym quality.
hey mate, my treadmill is working good, but when i'm step on it, its not working properly like its stop splitsecond. i tried tightening and lubricated the belt but still no luck. any advice?
@@Connorkmiec93 Get a shoe string or electrical tape and trace the pulleys diagram. After that measure the shoe string or electrical tape and see what it measures. Ya but you mention a universal socket in the video which is articulated to get around the motor. Would this work Neiko Heavy Duty 3-Piece Universal Impact Joint Socket Set? Also, I did not measure prior to changing the rollers like you mention to do in the video because I had not seen it. What do you think the measurement should? This is what I used: www.sears.com/craftsman-universal-joint-3-8-in-drive/p-00904435000P You figure out if it will fit your wrench. It's a 3/8" drive which is pretty standard! RJ The Bike Guy They just sent me a new drive belt. This video rocks! Thanks! I only have 130 hours...or 800 miles on mine and when I removed the cover....there were rubber bits everywhere and basically a bald belt. Could it be my walking belt is too tight? Or maybe the drive belt was too loose/tight at amnufacturing?
Pretty good. My first TM was a ProForm. I broke the frame and destroyed the walking belt. Then came a Horizon. I cracked 5 different deck boards and wore out several sets of roller bearings. So far on the Sole, I have one out one pair of roller bearings, and not the drive belt. But other than, it is holding up well. Sole tech support is excellent.
I have some minor damage to the drive belt. The groove in a couple areas are a little worn, it JUST started making a noise. Do you think I could get away with not replacing it for a long while. The belt in the video was much more worn out so it makes me think I'm just overreacting.
Hello RJ, I changed my drive belt belt. Put it all together then I got a low speed error. I reset back to factory settings and when it's in calibration speed it still keeps going to low speed error. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!

mojodojo24, you want to tighten it to where you can barely reach your arm in and touch the center of the deck. Too tight is where you keep tightening it beyond this.

I've just replaced my motor and control board on my f63 Sole it starts up fine and does all adjustments until I put I load on the treadmill by stepping on it at any speed. Anyone know why it shuts down when I do that?
The walking belt is slipping or the drive belt, or both, when a load is on. There's friction. Too tight or too loose. The pulley sensor may be loose at the connection. The motor ground wire may be loose. The magnets in the motor may be loose. Check all wires
okay so i was lubricating the bolts ( metal to metal friction) to end the squeeking sounds of my treadmills , and i saw the drive belt so i thought what the hell i might aswell lube it and i also cleaned under the walking belt and lubbed it , then i put everything back together and ran the treadmill , and everytime i stip on it now the belt slip or stop , so i figured the belt might be loose so i tightened it up a bit , and even addded more lube under the walking belt but still , now i think i shouldnt have lubed the drive belt it might be slipping and causing the problem now what should i do ? to unlube that drive belt
ibrahim aly NOOOO! The drive belt doesn't get lubed!!!! You will probably need to buy a new drive belt and clean those pulleys really well to get any oil/grease off of them. The walking belt gets lubed because it needs to slide of the deck.
RJ The Bike Guy yes i know that now ! i am so stupid :D i'll just get a treadmill technician to replace it and clean the pulleys because i am afraid if i tried anymore thing ill just screw something else :D and thank you so much for you the super fastreply and those very helpful videos
maybe if i took the drive belt off cleaned it cleaned the pulley from any oily slippery substance put the drive belt back on then maybe it would work right !? although i will let the technician do that ill just tell him what i did wrong and he'll go from there , though what cleaner do u recommend to use for that ? like normal cleaning agents that removes oil ?
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
My treadmill stops after me walking on it for 1 minute. Tried loosening and tightening both the belt and the small belt under the hood. No luck. ANYONE PLEASE HELP/ ADVISE
***** if the treadmill just stops, that sounds like something other than belts. Maybe it is overheating, or thinks it is. There might be a bad sensor or something wrong electronically. That goes beyond this video. You should contact the manufacturer.

mojodojo24, you want to tighten it to where you can barely reach your arm in and touch the center of the deck. Too tight is where you keep tightening it beyond this.
RJ The Bike Guy i have a horizon... tightened all the way til it wouldnt tightened anymore. my fingers go just past middle... checked the belt, looks good, any other thoughts? thanks so much for your info!
Sorry, I am not sure what you are describing.
Nice ballhead rachet wrench . Maybe a short film how to take apart and lube this kind of rachet wrench :)
Which wrench? The SK with the swivel head that didn't actually get used? (It didn't work to get the motor mount bolts.)
Ok. Btw. good job as always :)
Was that the wrench you were talking about?
Instead of measuring the shaft position, why not mark on the frame for shaft center, especially if you don't have a caliper?
Whatever works for you.
Nice
Can I lubricate motor's belt???
Don't lubricate the drive belt! You don't want it to slip!
Sir I lubricated my drive belt what should I do now because it is not slipping. Please help
@@littlemaster9938 As I said, don't lubricate the drive belt. Remove it, clean the drive pulleys. Clean the belt as best you can, or replace it.
Ok thanks
can somebody please tell me how to fix E1 and E2 ?
I've just replaced my motor and control board on my f63 Sole it starts up fine and does all adjustments until I put I load on the treadmill by stepping on it at any speed. Anyone know why it shuts down when I do that?
Contact Sole.
The walking belt is slipping or the drive belt, or both, when a load is on. There's friction. Too tight or too loose.
The pulley sensor may be loose at the connection.
The motor ground wire may be loose.
The magnets in the motor may be loose.
Check all wires
u dont even need to open the motor, its so simple
okay so i was lubricating the bolts ( metal to metal friction) to end the squeeking sounds of my treadmills , and i saw the drive belt so i thought what the hell i might aswell lube it and i also cleaned under the walking belt and lubbed it , then i put everything back together and ran the treadmill , and everytime i stip on it now the belt slip or stop , so i figured the belt might be loose so i tightened it up a bit , and even addded more lube under the walking belt but still , now i think i shouldnt have lubed the drive belt it might be slipping and causing the problem now what should i do ? to unlube that drive belt
ibrahim aly NOOOO!
Not sure if you will be able to get it clean enough.
ibrahim aly What did the technician do? How much they charge to come out?
can somebody please tell me how to fix an E1 problem?
Thank you!!
I accidentally put oil on drive belt what should I do now to remove oil from drive belt
Ouch. Probably replace the belt. The belt will have absorbed the oil.
Oh. I found the video.
caminadora sin peso trabaja normal con peso tiene la falla sale en el displey LS1 Y SE PARA QUE PUEDE SER GRACIAS
Why move the motor when you could have loosen the belt first, remove the front roller and thusly the drive belt without messing with the motor
This is how it is done. Good luck with whatever you are suggesting.
