Very good video. Using it as a generator is an excellent out of the box way to test the motor. Also Thank you very much for the shout out to my channel and specifically for my video on treadmill HP and torque numbers.
Great video! I have a question, I just changed the motor control for the first time on my Sole F80. When I power it on, the light on the control is red, is this normal? My old control displayed green light. Thanks for making these helpful Sole videos!
Thanks for showing us how to test the F63 motor. Now I know that my motor is good. I need to test the control board now since it burnt the connection on the board from the motor and it won't turn on anymore. Nothing comes on. Do I need to replace the board now?
Thank you ! If your controller connections are burnt you will have to replace board the only way to test it is to put a meter on the connections as best you can see if you have dc out to motor at start. Depends on what year I may have a video that may help. Sole motor controller troubleshooting. Hopefully this helps
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Thanks! I found your troubleshooting video. I’ll get back to you after I troubleshoot. BTW, is there a chance that the transformer is the culprit?
This was a good video - very helpful. I have a Sole F63 (date code 2014), where the motor hesitates when you first start it - but if you push the belt with your foot it 'catches' and starts normally. Sometimes it will start itself, other times it sits there trying, but if you don't help it along by moving the belt manually it does not roll the belt itself. I believe the brushes need to be replaced in the motor - when I readjusted the brushes it has worked again for a few weeks - but I believe that the brushes are just too worn at this point for the spring to keep good tension. Do you have the ability to find replacement brushes for these motors? I haven't been able to find them online (but have found replacement brushes for other treadmill motors). Do you happen to sell them? Note - I have a newer belt (6 months old) and the motor controller was rebuilt about a year ago. I get no errors on the screen (then again I do not let it sit not running very long before I push the belt manually).
Well thank you, and I can’t find them either.Don’t know what to say about that?? Send me a picture of your motor I might have a used motor I could sell but I would have to waste one to take the brushes out. Send pic to Fitnesspartspro@gmail I will see if I can help Please subscribe Dave
Well I wish I could there is not much you can do ! You will have to replace the console. If you need help finding one send me your full model number to Fitnesspartspro@ gmail.com . Thanks Dave
I have the F63 (SN 56381415....). It counts down from 3, 2, 1 and then the display says 0.5 mph but the motor/belt is NOT moving. 5 seconds later the console reads LS1 error. ALL Console controls (fan/incline) work/display before the LS1 error appears. The Control console can also alter the speed display but does not do anything to the motor. I disconnected the motor from the Control Board and used a 9V battery as a source of power for the motor to determine if the motor is bad. The motor runs. I then validated that the incline Up / Down lights on the board work as the unit is calling for an Incline command. I then found the PWM light and observed it when I press the Start button. The PWM light turns ON but then turns OFF about 5 seconds AFTER the 3 second countdown hits Zero. I attached my Multi-Meter to read voltage off the Control Board, after I disconnected the Red/Black motor wires for the Battery Test and do NOT read any D.C voltage when Powered On, during the Start/3 Second Countdown, or up to the LS1 error. I do not hear any "clicking" during /directly after the 3 second count down and not sure if there was a Relay that should do that or not? Note: I noticed a green LED light on all the time above the motor connection on the board. It appears to read Motor DRV. There is another LED light, not on, next to it that reads "Shut Down". Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Jay
Well that is a very good diagnosis and troubleshooting any time you have the pwm light on your controller console is sending the signal . The controller is not working properly so you have a bad controller. But 90% of all controllers go out due to high amp draw from the walking belt being worn You should test your belt by force walking on the sides (on the logos ) then in the center to see if it is harder in the center. If yes you will need a belt Also
@@FitnessTechnologyServices So the PMV light initially being on means it is not the Console but a defection Controller (Board). Is there a part for the board or are you saying if the "clicking" is not occurring /pmv light initially on then there is no "part" but only an entire board is the option? I was hoping it was like a refrigerator relay that is a separate part. Do you sell parts like this and, if so, what it the cost including shipping, please? Also, I use the Sole Silicone on the belt when the Console tells me. Are you saying that even if i do this the age of the belt is also the cause of the issue and no amount of Silicone over comes a warn belt? The belt looks great. Do you sell the belt and, if so, what is the total cost including shipping? This entire situation is odd because the machine was working fine, I lubricated it, and turned it on. All good. I then reset the "lubricant date" on the Console and that is when i started seeing the LS1 error. I guess weird timing.
@@jaym48 for pricing or parts you will have to send your serial number to Fitnesspartspro@ gmail or you can input your serial number on our website Fitnesspartspro.com On the part of the controller that failed I am sorry I am not component level I do have them rebuilt around 179 but I would need your serial number to see which one

@@FitnessTechnologyServices Done! 🙂I bought a second hand F85 2015-model (I think). Do you know if these motors are different from the newer ones - since the specs on mine show top speed of 20 km/h and the new ones go to 22 km/h? When I got it it stopped at 18 km/h even and I changed it to 20 in service mode.
I just replaced my motor, new belt and deck flipped. Calibrated it, got 1:45 on 5 mph jog and got LS1 error AGAIN! Now what??? Tech that confirmed my dead motor said my board was fine. HELP!?!?
Hmm how did he verify the controller is good did he give you amp draw number. Either the deck is not suitable for flipping! Or the controller is weak. The only real way to tell is to amp the unit if while using it it pulls less than 7 amps then controller is weak. If it pulls more than 9 amps then deck is the issue making unit work to hard the amp readings are the answer
Thank you for your videos. Speaking of motors , my 2020 Sole F85's motor is making a weird ticking sound. I recorded a video and you can see that it's not coming from the rollers and probably not coming from the pulley. ruclips.net/video/yZaa8Vj-Qqc/видео.html Any ideas? Thank you.
Well you are so welcome, and you are right that sounds like a motor to me. The only thing you can do is check the motor brushes. They are under the black plastic covers. Make sure it’s unplugged sometimes the spring that holds them gets bound up ? Or the motor commuter is burnt in spots. And when the brushes hit that spot they tick .Either way I would call sole .so new this may be under warranty

I don’t think the color of the led matters. When the controller has issues the light sort of pulses

My motor is like it's glued in the morning. And then you move it and it goes. And then it's fine after that until the next morning.
